I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

What do you mean “ hope she finally stops focusing on high notes”?!?

She hasn’t hit huge powerful notes in her studio albums for like ever.... it pretty much ended at the same time she retired to have RC. We got Sorry For Love since, and thats pretty much it...

Breakaway,Fade Away,Map to My Heart.

These songs are FILLED with powerful notes

For her English repertoire, they've always been trying to incorporate high notes ("yelling") in most songs, as that's her signature thing.

They may not be as high/long as her '90's work, but it's still there. Even Céline said so herself a while ago and that she longs for different songs.

Songs like 'Recovering' or 'Where Is The Love' are much more rare.

I love TC too, but there's too much (unnecessary) 'screaming' in most songs. For example, I absolutely love 'A World To Believe In', but the soft beginning and the screamy ending is just blah. But that's just my opinion lol

Screamy ?? No thats not true. All the high notes are well placed and WORK. Unlike some songs songs like TC,FA,SOL... they all work

Like I said, that's my opinion... and yes in some songs it def works, but I meant the album as a whole....my general feel is that all songs together (including the bonus tracks) are too screamy.

I like Taking Chances. I love the kinda rock sound it has and it really suits Celine's voice. The only thing I don't like about this album (except the cover art lol) are the lyrics.I find them too basic - at times awkward.

For the time and for Celine that was extremely edgy. She had never done anything like TC or MTMH. Especially nothing like TJTWIM.

Taking Chances was a great album, one of my favorites. It was not that edgy as I expected to be when it was announced. To me it sounds like a try to be edgy, but still staying in comfort zone.

If you ask me, Céline's edgiest album is "Dion chante Plamondon"

How is it even possible to like a album and not like the lyrics???? The lyrics make or break the album.

As far as the TC album, i say it wasnt that great. The only songs i like to this day from that album are Taking Chances and Surprise, Surprise. The rest already sound dated in 2018. Some good songs but no GREAT songs in my opinion.

I don't even know why lyrics are mentionned when it comes to Céline's songs. 😂

I don't hate all the lyrics of all the songs lol I should have phrased it better. There are a few songs in the album where the lyrics don't work for me like in that's just the woman in me

maybe if the album was released 10 years earlier, but it's still a good one

they mess up with the single choices

live performances....

TC and Alone should had been double A side

Eyes on me never got a video and the remix version with will i am never got the studio version

This time and Fade Away were rejected to promote by her and by her team :hmm:

they decided to present again BYLM

they aired 2 TV specials, leaking new songs

Maybe one day Celine will do one night only live for every album        to present us every single live song :-D B)

Eyes On Me had a video actually... it was done with a Spanish bullfighter, but of course the genious minds in Celine’s team/Sony Music decided it was too hardcore for her image to release

The remains of that concept they had for the video we can still see it on the TCWT DVD, when they dance with the red capes around Celine.

It was not a rumor, the Spanish guy confirmed he went to Los Angeles and he stayed there a week and they did the video, so the production was filmed and finished.

It was not a rumor, the Spanish guy confirmed he was called to go to LA or Vegas (don't remember now) and he worked with her for that video, so the production was filmed and finished.

One thing is that they didn’t do a video at all for some song or concert, and other very different is that it was done or filmed, but it remains unreleased :) That’s a big difference, because at least we know there’s something and it gives us hope that some day it may see the light of day ;)

That’s always better than knowing there’s actually nothing done.

No, not at all. Yes she goes high in these songs, but nothing like in SFL, ABM or IS for exemple. I’m talking about notes that she sees coming half a minute before, that she will have to stop to take a deep breath and go.

I think MTMH comes pretty damned close lol

I think its a bit ignorant to try and downplay these songs.

Fade Away has a massive sustained high note (its higher than All by Myself) and then the entire last chorus is sung in the upper fifth octave

The notes is Breakaway are longer than Sorry for Love and All by Myself and are in every chorus (theres 4 of them). It also has a high belt in the last chrous.

Map to My Heart she sings in the rest of the song from 2:45 to 3:42 in the 5th octave and she does a MASSIVE note sequence that goes SUSTAINED F#5 - SUSTAINED D5 - long and complex vocal run

I Drove All Night has around 6 long notes, all long, hard and the final also has a big high sustained note.

Thats Just The Woman in Me..... is just insane

All By Myself only has the one big F5 note, other than that is just an average mid nineties Celine song. Imo, The Power Of The Dream and Declaration of Love are harder.

Sorry for Loves note isnt too bad either. She has a break too before the note.

I Surrender is often over exaggerated, yes it has the long notes which are hard dont get me wrong, but i feel that its easier for her to sing long middle range notes than it is to belt in the upper 5th octave for like a minute straight.

If she only released TJTWIM as a single. It was so good. I was hooked when I first heard it. I'm telling you... obsessed! :giggle:

So, this song was written for Céline since early 90's?

I don't know exactly the details of the song, but I know that Celine said during the recording sessions that she had wanted to record it for a long time. How long that time is, I don't know. I got the feeling it was at least 10 years. I don't remember if they specifically said anything about the origin of the song, but I would love to know.

As much as I love the song now, I wonder what it would've sounded like if she recorded it during the 90's.

I think her 2007 voice really fits with this song than in the early 90's

After such a long wait all I can say is that I expect an amazing English album! A polished album, with refined and meaningful lyrics (like her French songs written by Jean-Jacques Goldman), without being cheesy.

A classy album but also edgy with some surprises like a duet with a another major artist (Adele, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga or Justin Timberlake). If her team wants Celine to reach the top of the charts again a bombastic collaboration is needed.

As to her voice… I don’t want Celine to contain her voice in studio!!!

I want adlibs, soft and high notes... If she still can hit incredible high notes in studio (and she can!!!) she MUST record it even if she’ll never replicate that exact notes in concert.

I want to have chills again listening to her songs! If I got chills when I was listening to her show at the O2 Arena last year why don’t I feel it while I listen to One Heart, Miracle, Taking Chances or Loved Me Back To Life albums???

Celine Dion is one of the best singers ever and she’s almost 50 years old. We all know that some day her voice will crack so until then she needs to immortalize the incredible voice she still has.

I desperately need something really great by Celine. ;)

Yeah, I see what you mean, but Celine is like a chameleon with her voice, it's so acrobatic and can sound so different from her usual sound if she wants to. But I truly love the song as it is, it's perfect. I always thought that this song is what Celine should have released when she fronted her "edgy" new sound during the Taking Chances era. Unlike Taking Chances, Alone and (somewhat edgy) Eyes On Me, this song is actually edgy.
