I think the less we know, the better!! And no snippets either!!

It's much nicer to be surprised when the album actually comes out! :-D

(And that means less negative comments before the release.)

I agree. I mean I love snippets, because it feels like we're always been waiting for so long, but I would rather actually not have that and have the whole experience with the album the first time.

I am so curious to what the new music is though. After everything I'm so curious to see what what this will turn into.

Might be an unpopular opinion on this board (because so many don't want any more duets) but I've just read Eminem's upcoming tracklist and there are like 5-6 collaborations.

These last years everybody is collaborating with everybody and Céline is never one of them.

I dream of the day when a current artist will drop his album and unexpectedly we will read "featuring Céline Dion".

A lot of current acts love her but it never turns into a collaboration.

On one side, we have Beyonce who wants to be everywhere to the point she adds herself to already existing hits ( Telephone, Mi gente, Perfect) and on the other side, we have Céline who doesn't do anything.

Don't know what they are up to with this new album, but so far, it doesn't seem they have reached out for any new/experimental things whether it's producers or writers. It's true we don't know anything (only a few names) but still I fear it ends up to be an album mostly produced by Gattica with Scott on the piano :giggle:

But that's been like that for ages now. Yeah, everyone professes their love and admiration to her, but it never ends up with a collaboration.

But hey, she sings duets with the elderly and the dead in her French albums (Johnny Halliday, Henri Salvador, Jean-Pierre Ferland), we'll always have that :giggle:

This made me laugh so hard :sofunny: (as it's so true).

I agree.... we kinda live in the "age of Céline" now and everyone says they love her. THEN WORK WITH HER.

In the 4 years we've been waiting for a new English record, they had plenty of time and opportunities for one-off collabs. Surely we had 'Recovering' and 'How Does A Moment Last Forever' (and 'The Show Must Go On'), but the past few years would've been perfect to do some experimenting..

I kinda believe Aldo was in the process of making a change and reached out to "younger"/"hip" artists for collabs, but it didn't go anywhere (esp after he left)..

"Thank you for the love from all @celinedion fans, you are generous. I leave you this little something, my first original Céline song I co-wrote with #AldoNova entitled A New Day Has Come. All I will say (for now), is that our collaboration with Ms. Dion is exquisite, divine and quintessentially Céline. Enjoy…XO video by @kylendeporter " Stephan Moccio

This was great! I wish he posted the whole song. The piano was beautiful.

I used to want Celine to collaborate with other more current artists too, but that's changed for me. I mean, I would still love for her to work with others, but not the same way Beyonce or all of those "featured" artists on the track. Sia's made a lot of good stuff, but looking back at Titanium and She Wolf and all that, it's very outdated.

I wouldn't want Celine to do stupid (yes I call it stupid) music just to stay relevant. Or it doesn't even have to be for that reason. I am so glad that Celine hasn't made cringe music that was good at the time, but now it's the worst thing. :giggle:

I’m personally glad Celine doesn’t collaborate with the “hit act” of the moment because in 20 years she’ll not be remembered for “that duet with NeYo”, she still be remembered as the class act that she is who didn’t have have to resort to cheap collaborations to remain popular. Yes Céline’s music may not get played like it used to but look at her concert ticket sales and you’ll see she is still right at the VERY top!
That! And that is why i think she should do what she is good at; powerballads and poppy 90s tracks ala max martin - no bubblin or Rihanna-like Dua Lippah mainstream tracks but songs like Adele's Hello and somebody like you. Great quality tracks that show that she is still one of the greats!

I took Beyonce as an example of the total opposite of Céline. I - of course - don't want her to do that.

My point is she could do it - maybe for other's album ( if she has the opportunity of course) or simply as a single- once in a while as a try to do something different.

There's no need to bask in the extreme situation you describe : I know some current acts are making all a business of it and are/stay popular only thanks to these collaborations ( Coldplay, Marroon 5, Selena Gomez, etc...).

But on the other hand, collaborations between really big names end up so-so and often dissapointment as well. They won't be remembered. Céline sang with Streisand and Pavarotti for the english market and with Hallyday or Sardou for the french one and those songs are quite forgettable. It's not something only Céline experienced. Carey sang with Houston, Beyonce with Alicia Keys and they are also mediocre songs...

Collaborations give more exposure (and maybe more sales). That's what record labels care about.

I just hope we will get the classy Céline on this album, not the experimental Céline. A few surprises would be welcome but the project as a whole should be the "classic" Céline in my opinion.

Classy album like D'elles?

True, but a duet with Ed Sheeran out of the blue would have been nice...

Not really, if anyone wanted to be (and was) the boss, it was René. When Aldo was still present, both he, Céline and Scott called the shots. (Aldo - management, Scott - musical, Céline - overall)

i think they splitted because there was something he was not at ease with , whatever it was , maybe he was afraid she would ruin her career. but he should have had more confidence. This is just a suppositosition, but i think he quit very quickly out of the blue.

yeah, maybe she had a different vision for her career than him. He did a really great job though, brought her back to the spotlight. Everybody finally noticed Celine, even the young generation.

Its just such a shame she had no new album out while she was everywhere for a certain period of time. She basically didnt promote anything

I think Aldo was just exhausted to follow Céline and her non-stop energy!

Not everyone can handle that on a daily basis... :-D

I don't think she would ruin her own career.

But that there was something weird about his sudden leave.

Level of success does not equate to level of mediocrity. Plenty of mediocre songs were hits. The Houston/Carey duet not the Dion/Streisand duet are mediocre. They're beautiful songs and well known. They don't need to be hits to be well known. They're Oscar and Grammy nominated songs.
