That's why the format "Extended Play" should have been used already. All those tracks you mention should have been released already -if they wanted- in an EP or whatever use, and get rid of them. Recovering, TSMGO and all in between. That's what should have happened with the Vegas covers they wanted to include by force in LMBTL album.

 

Enough of recycling songs that are 2-3 years old already by the time she releases a new album. I don't even want them as a bonus disc on Target nor as iTunes bonus tracks. They are OLD songs

 

These songs would fit on The Collector Series Volume 2, lol.

While I totally agree she should release EP's, there's one thing we have to remember: Céline's main target audience is like 40+.

Céline falls in the category artists which still sells way more physical copies than digital (like 95% / 5%). By releasing an EP, sure.. it'll give her some exposure and perhaps more people than normal will buy digitally and she will be able to experiment more, but it will sell way less than a full, normal, physical album. And as Sony (and other big record companies) only care for the $$$$......... So from a business point of view, an EP release from a legacy artist like Céline, isn't very profitable.

 

That said, on the other hand.... songs that have been in her vault and waiting for a release for ages (llike the jazz songs) are songs that are perfect for an EP release, as they'll probably never see the light of day anyway..

This is off topic so sorry- I’ve just been to see Mariah for the second time in Manchester UK. Again, I feel cheated and left very underwhelmed. I love Mariah- I was a huge fan before I discovered Celine.

 

There’s no comparison. Voice, effort, charisma, performance, the show, the lights, the sound, the VOICE. Celine smashes it. We ask so much, we complain so much. And we don’t realise what we have. What she gives. I can’t emphasise enough. What I saw from Celine in London and Leeds this summer was 10X what Mariah just gave.

Celine is sometimes late on ,especially in LV, but we're usually talking 10 minutes or something! That's nothing. Celine is the consummate professional, on stage, in the studio, wherever. I'm keeping everything crossed that this new album does well, and she loves performing her new songs. Yep, sometimes we forget how lucky we are ❤️

 

Really hoping no tracks get leaked. Not even snippets on amazon for example.

Not looking forward to all the "that's rubbish, wish they'd done this" etc conversations coming soon though 🤣

My favorite part is listening to the fan reviews of a album song by song after the release!! I like to see which of us agree on the same things e and which fans don't. I still to this day believe Celine has two fan bases within this forum here, The FIRST GROUP, they are the fans who would be happy with songs along the lines of "A song for you" or "I know I loved you"; and the SECOND GROUP they are the fans who would prefer songs like "A new day has come" or " stand by your side". I consider myself to be the 2nd group! But that's what makes it exciting to read reviews, its crazy how many fans here would say "Taking Chances" was a better album than "One Heart", but for me "One Heart" was WAAAAAAY better, everyone has their own taste.

Absolutely true. I remember Celine herself said in an interview that she and René wanted to call her 1995 French album 'Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore' . I'm glad Jean-Jacques Goldman came up with the 'D'eux' idea...

eux means 'them', so d'eux means 'of them' --> the colleboration between JJ and Céline! And that's why D'Elles is called... D'Elles, because elles is the female form of 'them', and this album was written by females.

 

But yeah PQTME as an album name would have been horrible! Destin would have even been better!

lol I remember listening to D'eux so much when it came out, and thinking I'd call it Destin!

If this album is kind of like a sequel to A New Day Has Come... I would love for the album title to be something like "A Dream of Spring". (I know that's the upcoming book title of GRRM's last A Song of Ice And Fire book) but I always thought it would make a great title for a Celine album.

It has been decades that we do not have a quality music video from Celine. Its time for her to exert more effort this time. I want a music video with lots of change in costumes, scenes etc like Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do".
