Second single: "Incredible" - Duet with Ne-Yo

It was NEVER announced ANYWHERE that "Incredible" would be featured as part of the Winter Olympics whether it be the Opening or Closing Ceremonies or otherwise.

 

As per CelineDion.com (screenshot below) on 8th February it was announced that TV broadcasters in the USA and Canada would feature the song in their "coverage." By all accounts this hasn't happened either but anyone expecting the song to be "officially" part of the Olympics sadly had their expectations set way too high.

 

I think we're all struggling to comprehend just how Sony and "TeamCeline" can mess up the opportunity of a hit single with one of the most relevant artists around. Really only they could mess this up. I'll await developments over the next week to see if the song does get adds in the USA and indeed if the video does appear but the moment for me has gone. The moment to strike was during December or at the latest very early January. I hope to goodness I am wrong of course but only Sony and "TeamCeline" could get this opportunity this wrong!

LOL. 'or have I dreamed' says everything about my memory as well. I couldn't recall what was announced. Shaun cleared everything up with his post though. IMO, it is one thing to expect NBC to use the song here and there and another one to actually expect that the song is played during the opening or closing ceremony. I also think the expectations should have been much lower given the fact the song is sent to radios tomorrow.

Did you or did you NOT say that Celine would need 6 to 8 years to release a new French and a new English album respectively? This is the only reason why I said you were being negative. It had nothing to do with your opinion that the album is dead as you made it seem in your following comment. Clear enough? If not, then you can't/don't want to understand what I'm saying. YES I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE BOTH OF YOU CUZ I READ AND HEARD THE SAME THING ABOUT INCREDIBLE BEING A PART OF THE OLYMPICS AND IT BEING AN OLYMPIC THEME SONG!!!!!!!! so no you 2 didnt dream it up... :) (unless the 3 of us all dreamed about it, which would mean somehow the 3 of us would have to share the same brain lol which i highly doubt, cuz that would just be really freaky and a good plot for the next stephen king novel hahahaha!!!!!!!!) :)

 

but yeah its pretty disappointing that the song wasnt played at all!!!!!!!! i mean not only did celinedion.com mentioned it, but so did the red heads on their facebook and twitter pages, also mentioned on good morning america, on access hollywood, and on that australian sunrise talk show she done (which was the last tv interview celine has done before she went back to vegas btw)... they all mentioned about INCREDIBLE BEING PLAYED AS ONE OF THE THEME SONGS DURING THE OLYMPICS, and i have also watched the news covering the olympics (since i did pay attention to some of the actual olympics itself, as well as hoping to hear incredible a little bit lol, i love to watch the ice skating and figure skating, theyre my all time fave winter olympic events), BUT NOT ONE TIME HAS INCREDIBLE BEEN PLAYED OR HAVE EVEN BEEN TALKED ABOUT DURING THE OLYMPICS ON ANY OF THE NEWS STATIONS IVE WATCHED, that includes NBC, who said in the first place that they feature the song, ABC, CBS, AND FOX, and NONE OF THEM HAVE PLAYED THE SONG AT ALL!!!!!!!! like you 2 and a few others on here have already said about this, i think we can forget about incredible being part of any olympic coverage or events or anything at all, or forget about music video ever seeing the light of day (except maybe on youtube in a few years from now hopefully if we are lucky, just like many of celines other music videos that never got shown on tv and ended up locked away until youtube came along and the videos were brought out from hiding lol).. and since the song is not being played on the radio here in the usa, at least not here in maryland lol, and celine is most likely not going to be appearing on tv again for who knows how many years until she makes another album lol, THE SONG INCREDIBLE IS NOW OFFICIALLY DEAD and the video for incredible will be buried who knows where along with jimmy hoffa and the lockness monster lol, most likely never to be seen unless someone from sony decides to put it on youtube in a few years again if were lucky lol... i just hope that celines career wont end up like the video for incredible, since lmbtl is a major flop and her vegas show is slowly dying now, i really hope that she will still perform for another few years and hopefully bring out at least another album or 2 while she still can, cuz it would be really heartbreaking for me if she didnt sing anymore cuz i still love her music very much... :( have a good evening and please stay well my dears... :)

This has nothing to do with it being Celine's fault. This has nothing to do with it being radio's fault. This is totally and 100% management's fault. This is totally and 100% the fault of the record label. Many of the things which could have been done with "Incredible" (or many other singles by Celine) could have been done withOUT Celine once the song(s) was/were recorded. i just dont understand it either when it comes to the adult contemporary stations, i mean i know with the top 40 stations theres only less than a snowballs chance in hell that any celine dion song ever released will ever get played again, at least here in the usa unless she does a duet with a rapper with a really fast paced dance club type of song like mariah, beyonce, rihanna, gaga, etc...all are doing nowadays lol, since lets face it that is what all top 40 radio is mostly about these days and have been for many years, they are either about rap and hiphop, dance club and techno music, some r&b music with some rap in it lol, and teen pop music with young "hipsters" and "heartthrobs" like beiber, miley, robin thicke, selena gomez, etc... (for me, i grew up with new kids on the block, backstreet boys, nsync, 98 degrees, boyz 2 men, creed, nickelback, hanson, spice girls, innosense, tiffany, debbie gibson, whitney, janet jackson, michael jackson, and celine of course... :) <3 <3 i sooooo love the music back in those days and i sometimes wish that all of those singers and bands were all still singing and performing again like back in the good old days, siiiiighhhhhhh, but anyway, moving on)...

 

but its a real shame that the adult contemporary stations wont play any celine songs anymore, especially since those stations play other singers and bands whose music is very similar to hers like elton, cher, rod stewart, phil collins, etc... (at least the 2 a.c. stations in my area, 101.9 lite fm and 97.1 wash fm, play those other singers and groups who are very similar sounding to celine and some whose music are even older than hers is, but no longer play celines music and years ago they used to, cuz i have been listening to those stations since i was a little kid and i remember them playing celines music for many years then they just stopped playing her songs, both the new songs and old songs, in the mid 2000s and just abandoned and trashed her just like the top 40 stations have too)... :( :( i dont understand it... does anyone know why celine is currently banned from the adult contemporary stations???? does anyone else here in the usa have heard any of celines songs, even her newer songs and especially her older songs, on the radio these days???? or is it just where i live at it seems lol... i wish that at least the a.c. stations would give celines music a chance since they still play soft rock and oldies music and they havent jumped on the 'play nothing but rap and hip-hop/club music' bandwagon as of yet like the top 40 stations do lol...

This is totally and 100% the fault of the record label. Time to look at the bigger picture. No matter what her team did the song would eventually flop because of lack of airplay...! This is pretty much the case for over 12 years now...! yeah i agree with you, when in the heck are they gonna show the video already???? even with the song not being a part of the olympics, why cant sony release the video on youtube regardless???? and gafsa, i agree with you 100% about the video, if sony doesnt release it soon, all her fans will lose interest, then nobody will watch it if or when it gets released cuz everybody will stop looking for it and forget about it, (i know that i will forget about it in 2 months... and lets face it most people have short attention spans nowadays, i know i do i will admit that lol)... we know the general public here in the usa dont give a flying fruitcake about incredible or about celines music period, very sad to say but its the cold truth...

I would be scrolling on Facebook and see a post early in the day that someone in ice skating fell or showing who won so I would already know by the time the Olympics came on over here
