I'm all for wanting her to be successful and new material but we all need to remember this stuff doesn't directly affect our lives. We will live if the video doesn't come out for another week or so. And for those who think they can manage Celine's career better than Sony clearly need to stop being delusional. We will get the video when we get it. They aren't going to advertise the behind the scenes for it on several morning talk shows than not release it, regardless of the fact it wasn't used at all or in any large capacity with the Olympics. With Sony sending the song to a few US ac radios yesterday I imagine it will be released by the end of the week or next. We all just need to relax and calm down. well i can understand some of what you are talking about here, and yes i know many of us can be impatient when it comes to celine, myself included lol cuz we are getting tired for waiting for all of these "projects" that were promised to happen but didnt happen, so here are some examples to prove my point: "incredible" being a part of the winter 2014 olympics, celine appearing on the tonight show, and plus many of her other music videos in the past were not released or shown on tv for yearsssss until youtube was invented and somebody finally decided to show those videos to the world...

Sony's pushing out singles? REALLY?! WHAT singles are they "pushing" exactly? In the UK, they gave "Breakaway" to radio with 1 lipped performance as promo and abandoned it after a month and sent "Water and a Flame" to radio with NO promo. In the US, they started strong with "Incredible" but AS SOON AS it started getting buzz and iTunes downloads, instead of rushing a video or being aggressive with radio, they WENT SILENT.

 

EVERY time they've gotten buzz, they dropped the ball. They had NUMEROUS mentions and features around the video shoot and didn't capitalize on it. SOMEONE completely messed up with the Olympics debacle - announcing it would be used in the broadcast and then NOTHING.

 

Not sure what the issue is here however, tv stations still see her as a draw if they are giving her airtime about a music video, however, Sony doesn't seem to want to sell her music.

now as far as adult contemporary radio goes, most of them do still do play more of a variety of music than top 40 does, at least the a.c. stations in my area do, (and last night one of those stations played celines hit "because you loved me", which is now an 18-year-old song btw), and while yes, my local a.c. stations do play some modern pop, r&b, and rock songs, (BUT THEY NEVER PLAY RAP/HIPHOP, TECHNO STUFF, AND HEAVY METAL MUSIC, THANK GOODNESS SINCE THOSE ARENT MY FAVE TYPES OF MUSIC TO LISTEN TO, NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE HERE)...

 

but the a.c. stations in my area still DO PLAY OLDER SONGS FROM THE PAST, NOT JUST CURRENT STUFF, THEY ARE STILL PLAYING POP, R&B, AND ROCK SONGS FROM THE 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, AND THE PREVIOUS 2000s DECADE, THEY PLAY SONGS BY REO SPEEDWAGON, JOURNEY, STEVIE WONDER, THE EAGLES, ELTON, ROD, CHER, WHITNEY, LUTHER VANDROSS, THE BEACH BOYS, PHIL COLLINS, BILLY JOEL, THE TEMPTATIONS, PAUL MCCARTNEY, U2, CYNDI LAUPER, MADONNA, FOREIGNER, AEROSMITH, MICHAEL JACKSON, AND SO MUCH MORE, THOSE ARE JUST EXAMPLES...

 

i mean if all of those singers and bands can still be allowed to be played on the adult contemporary stations these days, even though most of them arent releasing new music anytime soon, or in some cases if ever, cuz either those singers and bands are now retired from the music business altogether, or sadly some are no longer on this earth with us...

Taking Chances album has sold pretty well but it took them 6 years to release another album probably due to Celine's lack of interest but not Sony. Since LMBTL flopped so hard, the chances of her releasing a new album is from slim to none due to lack of interest from both parties ( Celine and Sony )

wow.. reading your post I saw the apocalypse... I don't know how it works in US with the radios and much important they are.... but for me is funny this obsessions with radio plays because it seems not to be important as a media anymore... with people having their own online players and mp3, and having all the smartphones with all the music you want inside...etc....

BUt the thing for me is that you are so worry with the forced retirement of Celine from music business because she is not on the radios, and because LMBTL was a "flop", something that I don't understand because I think someone post in the sales topic that LMBTL was on the top 50 or something like that of the most selling albums of 2013... so I think you can't call that a flop in the actual business situation, and I remember that when the album was released it comes number 1 in the most important Itunes Stores, and thats much more of the 90% of the album releases can say. Celine Dion is not "HOT" anymore and probably never again unless some kind of hipster makes a remix or collaboration and she is "famous" again because a cooler says she is cool.... but that is something improbable... And at the end I think even Celine is not interested too... Celine is not "HOT" but I think she is in a better positition... she is in a legend status with a assured fanbase that makes her eternally profitable to Sony.... Celine keeps doing a lot of things every year, she has never dissapear in her whole career, with soundtracks, duets, albums, photoshoots, documentaries, special shows...

And finally, in the darkest situation.... being fired by Sony.... maybe that's the best news ever... Celine producing for the very first time her own album if she wants.. (because I don't think that it would be a problem with money...) and yes... maybe it would be harder for her to be in the main tv shows and all that promo, Maybe it would be harder to dress like a Diva with the best brands, maybe she could not have an Hologram singing a duet with herself, maybe she wouldn't have big mansions in Florida and Quebeq or wherever, maybe... but you would buy that CD, and I, and the whole fanbase... and that's my friend a lot of $$$$$ to keep living easy for the rest of her life and RC life (not talking about the royalties of the 90's hits)...

And I really don't see Sony dropping her anytime soon! We just got an album and some are saying we might never get another one? Yes, think of Celine as Barbra Streisand at this point in her career. Radio stopped playing Barbra at about the same age that Celine is now. Barbra rarely tours (although, thanks to Vegas, Celine will probably continue to perform live more than Barbra did - also Babs had huge stage fright for many years) and rarely records albums. People get older - you will too and understand someday. When you get older, priorities change. What used to excite you doesn't anymore. Celine has 3 children now and an aging father and mother.
