Nmj Posted January 6, 2014 at 07:07 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 07:07 PM Wow, I wake up and here I am on my vacation to Chicago. It's -41 C (-42 F)with the windchill (colder than Siberia!) and there's 30cm (12in) of snow on the ground. Then I come here. A place where we're supposed to have fun and there's even more sh!it on the ground than here in Chicago! It's time for a Celine forum revolution. Clearly the fans can no longer live in harmony. This isn't the first time, but this is the first time that the negativity has been so thick. Long time members leaving because others are allowed to spew BS with simple warnings? What has happened to the moderation here? It's been a problem for a long time. We're wrapping up the lovely promotion of the LMBTL album. This was a memorable time for me. I got to see her in Paris and I think she's released the best English album she's done in many, many years. But I don't come here to read the hatred before coming up with my opinion. So many of your get caught up in the negativity. I remember going back to my hotel in Paris and reading reviews of how Celine sucked when these people hadn't even been to her show. Nothing could have been further than the truth. Some of us have been here for over 10 years. It breaks my heart to see these people go because of senseless posts. With these great members leaving, that leaves more room for the negative ones. Pretty soon this will be the "Vegas killed Celine, but boy ANDHC was great" forum. Oy. Edit: Furthermore, isn't this supposed to be "fun"? Life can really suck, but I consider my fandom for Celine a positive part of my life. She is not my life, by any means. But she sure does make things better. I'm grateful she's still performing and still giving us quality music. The fact remains is that this a forum no matter the opinion of the member we are entitled to express our own opinions. Like me for example, I think no good comes from another Vegas residency. You may or may not agree with me but that's my opinion. WE always express our opinions here and that's great, it just get personal between some members here which should never happen. We should express our opinions and while staying RESPECTFUL to others, it's very possible. 3 Quote
browseceline Posted January 6, 2014 at 07:09 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 07:09 PM You keep saying that "in her 6 year absence" they should have released unreleased material. It's unreleased for a reason. Record companies don't hoard rejected album tracks to create new albums with. It's simply part of the inventory. Plus, since she was "absent" from her career, she wouldn't be promoting such a release, and it wouldn't do well. But then again, you would complain about that as well. And for the record, I apologized for what I said in a earlier post. However, as usual you decide to ignore what you don't want to accept as the truth. Instead you use it against me. And you were clearly instigating me without using my name because you quoted my words. But you will get away with that because you didn't use my name. You need to wake up and realize that you missed Celine's glory days and they aren't coming back. No matter how many times you post on here, and no matter how many times you manipulate your own words to argue someone else's opinion so that you can have the last word so that you can be the one that's "right" will not bring Celine Dion back to the top 40. I can't believe that I took the time to personally apologize to you because I thought maybe I was just being a little rough on the opinion of a passionate fan. I can see now that I blindsided myself into thinking so. Always these fights on the forum..not everyone has the same opinion. In general, respect each other his or her opinion. I think it is interesting to read all the opinions. Sometimes i hear things that make me change my opinion. That is what i like about the forum. 4 Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

donpi86 Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:11 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:11 PM wow... tons of drama and overeaction here.... this seems like an 90's ballad.... :P a lot of controversy because of the lack of interest in a music video because it seems it's going to be useless.. because no music channel will play that video because she is doomed in popular channels. And this can be a Sony Music decision but if Celine wants to have a video I'm pretty sure she can do it.... As Beyoncé... I'm pretty sure Sony was not appassionate with the idea of 17 videos and I'm not pretty sure that that was produced by them and obviously it will not be release as 17 singles in MTV or VH1.... they will put 3 if they are lucky... The next week I will shoot a music video for an independent artist that he finances his own video with the little 2000 euros budget... and that's a misery and we will try to do our best... so I'm pretty sure Celine can produce her own video independently from Sony... I don't want to blame Sony or Celine... I just think it is a pitty they doesn't try to do anything interesting even if it is only for the youtube channel... I think that the LMBTL lyrics video was pretty interesting and an artistic effort to do something special... but then they stopped... we will never know why... I just feel curious about it because we all must recognize it is strange not to shoot a music video nowadays... VERY STRANGE.... And just people take it easy.... it is sad but is not the end of the world... don't leave the forum.. is not that hard.... (truly for me it is very funny to discuss even we don't get a conclusion, it takes away my stress... hahahaha) and don't be that easy offensive... if someone calls me jerk or stupid... good for him/her... that will not stop me... Life is beautiful... love each other back to life.... 5 Quote
LukeD Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:38 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:38 PM Honestly, I don't get why all this tantrum. Luke, I see you blocked me in Facebook, even if I apologized if something I wrote hurted you or felt offended, that was never my intention It's pretty clear there are certain topics which are becoming "untouchable" or taboo in this forum without driving the conversation crazy or out of proportion. In any case, I didn't start the disrespectful comments, and that member already apologized. I don't see the use of all this tantrum guys I did not block you or anyone from FB. I deleted my account 2 weeks ago. 2 Quote
LukeD Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:49 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:49 PM That said, I think I'm gonna repeat this like a scratched record again, but when I say that she spent 6 years without releasing anything, I'm not blaming her for that, and I've explained my point about this a gazillion times: I'm blaming SONY MUSIC, her record label, for not releasing anything new during all those years, call it a new single, an album with unreleased songs, a "The Collector's Series Vol. 2" with a new single and promote it a little here and there sending it to radios or whatever. Now bullying ...and what's next? Omg... Luke I didn't know you liked to exaggerate and make a snow ball out of nothing...The person who said Celine has no career outside France a couple days ago talks about exaggeration? Other than that, I have to say that you will not drive me crazy. In your previous comment you said ''Seems like she only wants to sing her songs one after the other on a stage and go home. Nothing else. But sorry, that's not what an album is released for, in all honesty. From this perspective, its no wonder why she took 6 years since Taking Chances to release new material''. See? You put the blame on Celine who did not care as she was more interested in live concerts. And now you put the blame on SONY? Really? See the contradiction? The manipulation? It was Celine and her priorities a couple posts before. Take a moment to think what you are writing. You have been exposed to everyone with basic comprehension skills. 1 Quote
Xpresso Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:56 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 08:56 PM I don't see why Céline would pay for her own music videos! She is not an independent artist... Sony gets a ton of money from the albums Céline sells so THEY pay for studio time, music videos and promotion. When you are signed to a big label, that's normally how things work. 5 Quote

If you have any complain against any particular post or member, use the report button. Luke, this isn't about who's a friend or who is not. You got a warning because your post was reported by members here. Also, there is a strict rule against name-calling, which you did and that, too not something mild. Please go see what you wrote. If you think I haven't warned Javito, please ask him. On top of that, he was even banned. What you got is a simple warning for 24 hours. He has gotten worse than what you got. Anyway, this isn't who gets what and I do not decide how you are warned. I'm really sad to see that you took this one so personally and you took offence in me doing it and questioned why I did it by citing some other member, when you actually broke the rules with your little tirade there. If you had anything personal against me, you should have written to me via PM instead of spewing it out here. He is to me what you are to me and I, as well as the other moderators here aren't going to differentiate in giving out warnings. I'm surprised to see that you had to respond so dramatically to each and every post there is. I'm disappointed in you not just as being part of the moderating team but also cos I thought of you as a friend.I did not even question why I got a warning. I am well aware of why that happened and if I were an admin I would also give myself a warning. I'm not taking back what I said and I'm not feeling sorry, but I understand I did not follow the rules and because of that I should be punished. However, what I asked is why I got a warning for name calling while Javito who indirectly offended people didn't get any. The fact that he was banned in the past is old news, my question was about his recent post. I guess people did not report him cause they are used to his arguments and attempts of sarcasm. And yet those are still other fans OPINIONS, Luke. Learn to respect them, without personally attacking anybody, which is what you and your friend did today to the point of insulting another member! And Dhruv already explained it to you: I perfectly know how it feels to get a warning, and even worst, to be banned. More than you imagine. I know what's to be totally excluded without prior notice and without having the chance to get an explanation and to defend myself. I've been banned already in this forum and for TWO times, the last one without even prior warning and word about what I did. And that situation lasted for almost three months. So you have a warning? Well, you have no idea what's to feel about being banned. In fact you have been lucky So now I could also feel offended and start a tantrum because of you pointing at me as an example of forum banning? No, sorry, I won't follow that game and play the victim role. It will be fun. Just make sure you are talking about 'A New Day Has Come' and how awesome it will be if Celine finally tries an EDM album. So who's being sarcastic and mocking about someone else now? See who's contradicting himself now? :doh:Yes, I do love the "A New Day Has Come" album and believe its one of her greatest and creative albums she's done, so what? I am being sarcastic because you asked for it when you stated 'a word to the wise is enough', implying I am not smart enough since you had to elaborate in your reply to me. Same day you called my opinion stupid. I was not lucky today, it was simply the very first time I insulted someone, hence the admins were not strict with me. It's not something I'm usually doing. Oh and to reply to your lovely statement too... not everything that we post is an opinion. It is a safe choice to stand behind generic words such as 'opinion' and 'freedom of speech', but in facts there is much more than that: There are lies, contradictions and invalid statements. You said her career is killed outside France and you want me to actually RESPECT this? It is not opinion. You can't have an opinion about it. It is about numbers. It is basic maths. Sales. Javito Posted January 6, 2014 at 10:30 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 10:30 PM (edited) Well Luke, its clear you're being extremely sensitive today, to the point of overanalyzing with a magnifying glass every word I say. Saying "a word to the wise is enough" is a popular saying which by no means is intended to be an insult, but its clear you're taking everything as a personal offence today. It's not the first time that I feel my posts are treated that way, and feel like chased because of that. So if you're in that mood, it's better I stop saying anything to you or quoting your posts, because you're going to take to the extreme everything I say and everything will look like an "insult" for you today If I acted like you're acting today with everyone that has ever disagreed with me and my opinions in the past couple of years, I wouldn't have enough days in the calendar to say that almost everyone is insulting me in this forum for being sincere and frank with those opinions Edited January 6, 2014 at 10:31 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... Javito Posted January 6, 2014 at 10:43 PM Posted January 6, 2014 at 10:43 PM (edited) Ok. Explain to me what you meant by saying 'a word to the wise is enough' right after your long answer to me. Love how your reply has nothing to do with the biggest part of my previous comment. Not the first time this happens. The tactic of fleeing. Simply that I think I've stated my point long and at great length in many occasions to repeat again the things I've said a million times before (and for which they've made fun of it too in the past, by the way). You told me I was manipulating and contradicting myself, and though I don't agree with that, I admit that I could have explained better what I mean when I said that "Celine doesn't care about her albums" or that she spent 6 years of absence in the international music market. And then you make my comment sound disrespectful as if I meant that she spent those 6 years "sitting on her couch eating Lays", when I've never said that, nor I pretended to give that image of her. I perfectly know what she's been through between 2009 and 2011, and I perfectly know that she did a world tour that lasted a year and a half and that we had a live album and two DVD's. However, I'm perfectly aware that Celine Dion is signed to one of the biggest record labels in the world, and that the name "Celine" is an enterprise of its own. And I am aware that she has one the most privileged positions in the music business in the world, and more than enough power so that she OR her big team decides to release something new during the 6 years they took until LMBT arrived. There are a dozen of things that Sony Music of Feeling Productions could have released without Celine moving a finguer or leaving her couch in Florida between 2009 and 2011, or between 2011 and 2013, while she started her Vegas show but no new english music arrived until almost two years later since the new Vegas show premiere. That's where the neglection of her career comes, and that's what I call lazy, and the attitude that a large number of people involved behind the "Celine" name had during that time. But not Celine herself! I could go on and on explaining my point about that, but I feel I've explained it already to boredom. So no need to repeat and clarify again what I've been saying in a thousand different ways since 2011 Edited January 6, 2014 at 10:57 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
