Second single: "Incredible" - Duet with Ne-Yo

I think all you guys should meet each other in person, have some activity with each other and see how it works out. This arguing here goes nowhere. It is just a matter of opinions. If soneone says celine her career is destroyed by las vegas - then that is his opinion. Wether you like it or not. Do you have a different opinion, that is fine. Just respect that not everyone thinks the same. Otherwise it would be a boring world. If someone says a thing like this, there is nothing wrong with that. There is code about how we express our opinions. If you dont wamt to read them you can block someone and you dont see their reactions anymore. Live and let live Edited by browseceline

Celine has generally received really positive reviews from Greek press, blogs and media. This is from a Greek blog: http://ngradio.gr/news/music/etoimazetai-dueto-ne-yo-celine-dion/ It says: Celine Dion prepares a powerful comeback with a very romantic ballad that is a collaboration with vocalist Ne-Yo. The song's title is 'Incredible' and as it seems so far from its making-off video, it will stand up to its name!

Talking about music videos... have you guys seen this? I know it's not Incredible or official but I just found it... I think it fits the song.

A bisexual whore!!!??? :o

I think it's a great video and sure fits a song called SOMEBODY loves SOMEBODY. Get it?

Anyway, is Incredible a single in the US or not? What's taking Sony so long? Xmas is over Sony!!!

Agree! The tricky title of this song and the interpretation you can give its pretty clear. It doesn't say "A Boy Loves A Girl", or "A Girl Loves A Boy". "Somebody loves somebody ". It's open to interpretation :P. I don't think that wasn't unintentional :in_love:

I can't remember if I actually wrote about this earlier or not so forgive me if I'm repeating myself. But, imo, Incredible won't be sent to radios or anything. I think that, when the website announces Incredible as the new single, and when Celine sings it on The Voice and they announce it as a new single, what this really means is that it's a "single" for the fans. It's what they're pushing the fans to like so that she can sing new songs in Vegas and they can say to people who don't know it "It's the new single.", knowing full well that those people won't go online and buy it on iTunes. They'll simply walk into the boutique and buy a copy of the new album with that song on it. As people have been saying on here, Celine is an album seller, not a single seller, and everyone involved in her camp seem to just want to push the album and Vegas. (Which is fine by me - I enjoy both!)

Did you even watch the whole thing? I don't think the guy is in the focus here, it's the girl feeling cheated and betrayed in a relationship she thought was honest and loving even though her face looks like she knows something is not right from the beginning but can't understand what. She gave him her true and unconditional love and now realizes he doesn't deserve it. It was all just a game for him, from her POV. And the guy clearly isn't happy with himself either no matter he's a cheating whore and in the end is left all alone, abandoned by everyone he hurt. Anyway, that's at least my view.

I don't see why Celine music and lyrics always have to have cheesy happy love/break-up/suffering boy-girl videos. I think it's really fresh and I would love if her official videos were so creative.

I didn't know who was that Xavier Dolan, but yeah the boys in that video look like him (interesting that Xavier is also a common name in Canada, here my name is written as Javier, except in Catalonia where they say "Xavier" too ) Edited by Javito

I’ve been meaning to check the forum for a few days, but have only been able to do so just now, so I’m sorry for opening fresh wounds. Never thought I’d be the cause of so much drama!

Firstly, I would like to thank the members who have defended me for speaking my opinion, especially Javito. I would also like to thank the one or two members who have apologised for the verbal abuse. For those who have not, I’m afraid I won’t return the favour. However, I will say this: just because someone speaks their opinion – however harsh or “controversial” – I don’t think it should give anyone the right to attack the person who speaks their opinion. Keyword: opinion. We all have different opinions and views on a variety of matters, and we all have the right to share them, even if we don’t always agree on them.

Secondly, as I pointed out in my initial post, I totally understand Celine putting her family before her career. I never expected otherwise, and never will. Her career took a backseat in 2001, and I have never judged Celine for putting her family before her fans, or her career for that matter. If I inadvertently insinuated that her career should come first, then I am sorry. That was not my intention, and definitely not my belief. The simple truth is I don’t expect her to go against her values and her principles. Yes, she works her a** off, considering the fact that she’s the mother of three, and her schedule will never be as packed as it was back in, say, 1998 – which, of course, is understandable.

Thirdly, I still stand by my opinion. Although I never said Celine owes ME personally anything, as one member (un)kindly put it, I still feel that she owes US something – as a collective fanbase. At this point, I would just like to clarify that I am not attacking the promotion of Sans attendre (which was done quite well), but actually that of Loved Me Back to Life. As another member put it, and not necessarily in these exact words, it is her English career that is fundamentally lacking promotion. Yes, she did numerous television appearances, et cetera, but the way I see it, there was no memorable promotion for the album. Loved Me Back to Life is practically forgotten, in just two months since its release. “Loved Me Back to Life”, “Incredible”, and “Breakaway” may continue to receive radio airplay, but that’s not enough to make the album big – the kind of big it can be. Yes, Sony Music is to blame for the lack of promotion, but so are Celine and Rene. They get a say in what to promote, how to promote it and when to promote it, as it’s her albums, and ultimately her career. If they take little interest in promotion, why should Sony do any better? Going back to why I feel she owes us, the fans, something: it’s not about how much we’ve paid over the years for CDs, concert tickets, and what not, but rather the dedication, the loyalty and support we’ve given her. I think we have a right to expect something in return – not CDs or concerts (and I’m aware how many concerts she’s performed and where, thank you very much) – but perhaps some acknowledgement that goes something like this: “Hi, everybody. I know you’ve stood by me and supported me and remained loyal to me all these years, so as a ‘thank you’ I’m promoting my work as best as I can, so that all your time and effort was for something”. She herself has said countless times that if it weren’t for the fans (us), she’d probably have no career today, at least not a very successful one. I, individually, didn’t help shape her career, and nor did anyone else, but we ALL did, collectively. I’m taking no personal credit in making Celine Dion the star she is today, and I have no idea how in the name oven mitts that was interpreted by my post.

Fourthly, regarding current sales... those numbers are because of us; because as fans, we have to own the next CD and the next one and the one after that. This isn’t down to promotion or marketing; it’s down to Sony and Celine’s management knowing they’ll sell X amount of copies because we’re gonna buy the “new album by five-time Grammy winner, Celine Dion!”, so they feel no real need to properly promote it. Other people – non-fans and record collectors – have bought the album, yes, but we’ve contributed significantly to the overall album sales. Falling into You and Let’s Talk about Love – although from a different era – didn’t sell so many copies because of just the fans, but because of the promotion they received, so more people went out and about those CDs.

Finally, all of the above forms my humble opinion. You may agree or you may disagree, but that is my opinion. In conclusion, I think I, too, will refrain from visiting the forum for some time (so, yes, maybe I am an “indescribable drama queen”. And it feels great, baby!), especially if I’m going to be attacked for sharing my views, no matter how harshly they’re shaped and promoted in a vented or frustrated fashion. We’re all adults here (perhaps some under 18s, too, I don’t know), so the fact that we can’t act our age and be civil toward each other, but instead name-call people because their views differ from our own, is simply horrifying to say the least. This forum officially equates to negativity, narrow-mindedness, and intolerance. I put my opinion out there, and was attacked for it, when I would’ve been more than happy to discuss it. I would continue my post, but truthfully, I can't be bothered to.

PS: Oh, I apologise for the “light reading” to anyone who did decide to read this. Hope you all have a very Happy New Year!

Dorfus - Céline has thanked her fans many times before and she did it again during the promotion of LMBTL in the US.

This link has been posted before but here it is again for those who forgot that Céline is thankful for her fans. :D

Shame on her for not talking about the markets who supported her the most in specific! She put everyone in the same basket. Shame... My opinion, don't attack me. :innocent:

She can´t do this. A fan in a less supportive market doesn´t worth less than one in a great market. Imagine....

Is there footage of this? I checked YouTube but couldn't find anything. According to the Las Vegas Sun Ne-yo surprised Celine on stage in Vegas and they sang "Incredible?" Is this true?

Celine Dion fans witnessed a first-time-ever, live-in-concert duet between the global superstar and Las Vegas hometown hero, smooth-as-silk singer Ne-Yo, who surprised Celine onstage to perform their new song “Incredible” from Celine’s new album “Loved Me Back to Life.” It won the twosome a standing ovation and thunderous applause from the audience.

The only footage that we've seen or found is a clip from instagram that was posted a few (probably quite a few after the firestorm that happened in this thread two days ago) pages back. Some pictures from instagram of her and Ne-Yo were also posted on instagram that in turn were posted on here.

IDEA: For forum members who enjoy making videos for YouTube -- one of us should make a video for INCREDIBLE with a 2014 Olympics theme! Maybe intersperse Celine and Ne-Yo singing with Olympics footage...?

It is January 14th and the song is not officially released yet. :pinch: I had high hopes, but I'm not sure if SONY is handling this right...!

On a somewhat related note, NBC has chosen to use "Roar" in one of their ads:

I wonder if Celine's team has done anything to push "Incredible" to be used in any Olympics related promos...

I think that there is no chance of success for Incredible. It's too late.

And the song itself isn't that strong, I mean it's rather calm and doesn't build up the emotions, the pace is more or less the same. Maybe the fact that it's monotonous a little doesn't give it a lot of exposure.. Dunnno

I'm really disappointed with this album (I love it) as far as reception is concerned, I mean there are really goods songs that could become hits and break through the charts... but nothing happens...

"Roar' and "We Can't Stop" aren't monotonous? That's all the songs that are played on top 40 radio, I highly doubt that because "Incredible" is as you say monotonous and lacks buildup of emotions is the reason it didn't get exposure. It didn't get exposure because as far as we know it wasn't sent to radios because radios in the US have flatout refused to play any Celine no matter how good or modern or radio friendly the song is.

Ok fellow fans, I'm a very big Celine fan, I've been a fan for about 20 yrs! I love Celine and her voice, but I'm getting really, really frustrated!

I need to ask: Where is the promotion/advertising/marketing of Celine and Ne-Yo's Incredible single?

I have been extremely disappointed in Columbia Records/Sony Music since the release of "Loved Me Back To Life" the single and album, which has led me to write Columbia Records twice now regarding the lack of promo. If you want to do the same, and I hope other fans do, here is the address: http://hub.sonymusic...ut/feedback.php, which is within the Columbia Records webpage.

Why has "Incredible" not been sent to U.S. Radio? This song should be sent to radio for Adult Contemporary AND Top 40, it has Top 40 hit potential! It should be sent ASAP! What is Columbia/Sony waiting for? It should have been sent to radio in December when Celine's official website announced as the next single for North America on 12/13, or maybe the same day as Celine and Ne-Yo performed "Incredible" on The Voice= 12/17 or maybe even the next day when they performed this on Celine's holiday CBS special? But nope, of course not! As of today, now January 17th- A month after The Voice performance!- this amazing song has still not been sent to radio! WHY????

I was thinking that just maybe Columbia/Sony was waiting to finally release the song to radio because it was going to be announced as a song for the 2014 Winter Olympics as Celine, Ne-Yo and even Billboard thought it should but that does not look likely now! :( Danielle Bradbery(a winner of The Voice) has been picked to sing the official theme song, and Katy Perry has her song Roar being used for promo for the Olympics!

Ever since Tommy Mottola left Sony in 2002 Celine's career promo has been awful! He left just after I'm Alive was released, then we all know the interesting choices that have been made in terms of Celine's singles (not including "Taking Chances", "I Drove All Night" or "Have You Ever Been In Love" which were good single choices) and how bad promo has been!

When will "Incredible" be released to radio? Will the song be used still to promote the Olympic's along with Katy Perry?

What is happening to Celine's career? She is the BEST selling female artist ever! Sold over 221 million albums and is the most successful act in Las Vegas since Elvis!

Why is Celine's record label not supporting her? Her success will give them success too!

Happy that Ne-Yo joined Celine in Vegas to sing "incredible" with her recently and that Celine and Ne-Yo will be on The Late Show with Jay Leno soon! It almost seems like they are promoting the song on their own, I give them credit, I wish I could do the same for Columbia Records!
