Alex_Incognito Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:23 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:23 PM Thanks for noticing, Zuv! I LOVE the radio edit. It's not terribly different from the album version, but I love the inclusion of the keyboards and the larger presence of the orchestra.I do miss her rocker chick vocals at the end, as they are more faded, but I still dig this! 1 Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Javito Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:39 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:39 PM (edited) Thanks for the scoop zuv! I really like the result of this edit. I hear Céline's voice much clearer in this version, the album version was maybe too noisy, but here its like they've brought her voice to the forefront. Also love how they increased the presence of the strings . Btw, did someone else notice that they used a male voice in the album version to do background vocals for the chorus? It is very subtle, but a male voice is definetly behind Céline's voice in the chorus. However, I think that they also reduced this voice in the radio edit, so Céline's voice can be clearer And it's very interesting that they deleted her guitar vocals in the instrumental bridge All in all, I'm happy that we have an alternate version!! They also did this for the third single of D'elles, A Cause! Now some remixes, maybe? This song would do a good use for that! i don't mind it at all. I remember the first time i heard the song, i thought the guitars were a bit cheezy (i know it should be the opposite effect...) I love this new edit, the violons are standing out. Still very dark and edgy for Celine. Much more radio friendly than the original. Its nice that they aren't throwing just any song to the radio, they really want this to work out... I guess this mean we'll get a good promo. That will be true if they release soon a decent video to accompany the song for its promotion Edited March 18, 2013 at 02:48 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Celine Fan 77 Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:42 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:42 PM Now that I've listened to the full radio mix, PLEASE CELINE USE THE ALBUM VERSION FOR YOUR VIDEO 1 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)
Peppercorn1991 Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:49 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:49 PM I like the radio remix! Kev x Quote
Javito Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:55 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:55 PM The "Ohhhhh" in the end + strings + echo effect = gorgeous! Long life to the strings! And they deleted the guitar sound in the end of the song, like it better this way! 2 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
isurrender Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:55 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:55 PM I have mixed feelings about this new version. There are things I liked which are now deleted but some others bring a new freshness to the song. The "A bout de nerf" of the bridge sounds now more powerful without the guitars. That's CRAZY! 1 Quote
isurrender Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:57 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:57 PM All in all, I'm happy that we have an alternate version!! They also did this for the third single of D'elles, A Cause! I hope it won't meet the same destiny... 3 Quote
Xpresso Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:59 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 02:59 PM I like the new version as well! More radio friendly I guess. I'm surprised nobody commented that celinedion.com gave us an exclusive... in a timely manner!!! 2 Quote
Javito Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:03 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:03 PM I hope it won't meet the same destiny... Till now, from the 3 singles released, if one song was asking so bad for a videoclip its this one. They could have saved PAMP video or even Le Miracle (both of them did not tell absolutely nothing ), but this song can have a good promotion if its supported with a nice video. Yes, I hope it doesn't meet the same destiny as A Cause Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

DionFanAlways Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:17 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:17 PM Ok....nice! Poor Andre! He was like 'yes, finally!' then......nooooo! I could see them doing this on stage you know how they interact with one another. How is she supposed to do her famous air guitar? Btw, for some reason, I see a lot of fans blowing her hair for this video, just a thought. 3 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
Peppercorn1991 Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:44 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:44 PM Maybe they deleted the guitar vocals because she cannot sing them live! You can see the confusion for celine when lipping the song! This way it can be sang live! Kev x Quote
Daysleeper Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:49 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:49 PM I just listened the entire version and I like it. It still sounds very strong. They added string arrangements to the first chorus, which gives it even more dramatic mood. I missed that something when I heard the original. Most of the guitars are still there, but they probably had to delete or moderate some parts. Otherwise there would be too much of everything.I just hope the reason of these changes is not the "too edgy" sound. If yes, well that's bad in my opinion. It means they are still categorizing Céline as an artist. 1 Quote
Peppercorn1991 Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:50 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 03:50 PM It means they are still categorizing Céline as an artist. Urm. What? Is celine not an artist? Kev x Quote
Daysleeper Posted March 18, 2013 at 04:06 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 04:06 PM Urm. What? Is celine not an artist? Kev x Sorry, I should have expressed myself differently. I think that changing the sound of the song could mean that they are still putting Céline in the category of soft ballad singer or something like that. Like it's not possible for her to sing something more edgy, which is not true. Quote
Peppercorn1991 Posted March 18, 2013 at 04:26 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 04:26 PM Oh ok I know what u mean it still sound edgy to me tho Kev x Quote
Daysleeper Posted March 18, 2013 at 04:30 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 04:30 PM It does, and it's a good contrast to the "Le miracle" single. 1 Quote

smw Posted March 18, 2013 at 05:17 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 05:17 PM Very thankful for this new edited version. I would LOVE an mp3. This version is less dated sounding. A little more eerie and fitting to the album. I wish this was the album version too. And then the current SA version could be a bonus track or something. But, regardless, I love this subtle changes. Kept what was nice about the song before, yet enhanced it. 2 Quote
c4n4d4 Posted March 18, 2013 at 05:20 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 05:20 PM This was/is one of my favorite songs on SA and I also really like the radio edit for it. It didn't really change the song that much. Its not quite as edgy but is still deep and dark in my opinion. Cannot wait to see if we get a video for this! mike_z Posted March 18, 2013 at 05:53 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 05:53 PM I simply love it! It does sound more "Lara Fabian"-like. Which is good! And it's less dated than before... I think those strings are still very edgy and dark. And her voice flows marvelously with them, she sounds less strained or "trying to sound edgy" than the album version, weird cuz they are the same vocals! I hope it took them so long because they were adapting this version and trying to hit the market again! And of course, it could mean a video is on the way! maybe a tv appearance too! Quote
c4n4d4 Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:18 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:18 PM I agree! Kyle_Jared Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:41 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:41 PM (edited) the edit is good. I really hope we get a video. mike_z Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:47 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:47 PM I'm sure it'll be #1 in Québec. As for France, you never know, but the sound definitely fits today's sound on the radios (her only way to chart, because digital sales will be low since almost everyone's got the album already!) Chin Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:48 PM Posted March 18, 2013 at 06:48 PM I really like the outro of the album version, but they changed it in this radio version Quote
