I think this was the very first time in her career that an edgy, dark, somewhat suggestive song would be released as a single and AGAIN they decided to play it safe by releasing a much softer version of it. Same formula they followed several times in the past and we never got single releases for ''I Surrender'', ''This Time'', ''If Walls Could Talk'' (or even ''Si Je N'ai Rien De Toi''), as her label chose much softer songs instead such as ''At Last'' (LOL), ''Aun Existe Amor'', ''My Love'', ''Alone'', ''The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face'', ''Live (For The One I Love)''. They play it safe, Celine always has to be the sweet, soft, ballad singer (who's a MOTHER of 3 of course) and songs that could really make a change are ignored. It's a little disappointing...

That's what I was trying to say before. It's like everybody else is deciding and imposing the sound that Céline should have. Céline and her team are always playing safe when it comes to musical style. And it's bad because it's depriving her of the freedom of artistic expression. I wish Céline's team has a little bit more courage sometimes.

And I still regret that "This Time" wasn't released as a single.

I have to say, although I do like some of the string arrangements, I like the albumversion because the rock feeling I have on the album completely misses in this radio edit. It is like there is something missing. I surely miss the guitars a lot! Now there is only strings throughout the whole song. And I also miss Celine's guitaryell which is in the albumversion. I don't get why they promote the song in a softer version while that version is not on the album and people will buy that album if they are interested in more, and will find that that radio-edit is not on the album. Maybe the first time you hear the song, as a radio-edit, people already like the song. But the albumversion is way better in my opinion.

I have always hated - at last - and the first time I saw your face worked well in Las Vegas with flying Celine, but when I listen to it I almost fall asleep because it is sooooooo slow and sooooooo boring ( same for - all the way) Why not promote a edgy Celine? The song is already on the album in that edgy version. so it makes no sense to promote it with a toned down version :-S

Both Rouge FM Quebec and Montreal played the song on radio for the first time this morning.

Absolutely agree. And that includes the insistent efforts in recording those Vegas covers for the new english album (thank God *it seems* they refused the project now). She's always trying to play safe, until someone finally says "wooowowowooo, let's do something different" and they finally change their mind and try something new. It takes so much trouble, it's so hard to take her out of her comfort zone, but from time to time, they try! :rolleyes:

I am out of "likes" Yes this is my opinion also. Why feel the need to change it!?

I think on the promo cd is the new radio version because on the back cover you can see that the track's length is 3:23 while album version is 3:29

This was the tweet and they posted it on their facebook: "[NEWS] Celine is currently shooting the music video for her 3rd French single, 'Qui peut vivre sans amour?' in Vegas. The video was originally planned to be shot last month, but was delayed due to Celine's illness.

 

The song has recently been added to radiostations in Quebec and France, so start requesting!"

See I have differ with you on the "quickly" part. I hope we get it fairly soon but I don't want them to rush through it, I would rather they take their time and really give us a good video. Not something half-assed and quickly thrown together
