I think I am the only one who disliked the new version. :unsure: To me, this song stood out because it is edgy, definitely something different compared to what she's done so far. Right now they almost turned it to a casual soft pop/rock Celine ballad. ''I Don't Know'' and ''Je Sais Pas'' have more edge than this new version. They could have kept the guitars in some parts and of course her raw embellishments that took the song to another level. I feel this version is somewhat indifferent and I reckon it will flop. :down: Edited by LukeD

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this way! That's why I'm asking why did they (whoever) feel the need to change it? I don't get it!

Really cheap and outdated, It sounds like ESNRQ. Album version is a masterpiece, I hope they use that for MV.

 

It does sound like a sequel to ESNRQ

If René Angélil or Someone around him read this forum or Facebook fan pages ... I think they can take some ideas to do more and more money lol with the unreleased songs of Céline Dion and vidéos ... I mean they have so much gold in there archive ... They have to use them... Sorry for my English lol i hope you understand what i try to say

This time I prefer to look to another angle. Making a new version for this song just shows that NOW they're not indifferent about her musical career. Well, it's a nice move.

Anyway, I think the song sounds as good as the original, but in a different way. I still don't know what I think about that in a commercial way.

Wow... with just a few changes they turned a good song into a masterpiece... already listened to it 5 times in a row.

 

If you read all the bad reviews, they focused on the "dated distorted guitar"

aaactually, when this new edit is released on iTunes, i will pay for it. And it will feel like a rip off as i will have paid twice for the same song (cause there almost identical)...

Its not that, i like edgy for Celine. My favorite song from TC is actually "Can't Fight the Feelin'" LOOOVE that song.

But the guitar in QPVSA... i don't know, it didnt seem to fit. It felt like i had heard this kind of guitar sound before alot in other popular songs. And yes i've been thinking that before i heard the new edit lol

This is definitely a more radio friendly version of the song and I like it. But I like the original better, a few guitar riffs here and there wouldn't hurt..

 

If she ever performs this with her band, they better use the album version, I wanna see Andre doing the riffs! :-D

I don't like the album version because sound dated and very saturated, always skip the song lol :P

But now with this new arrangement i loved it automatically. :wub2:

 

That's what I think too!

 

Album version = saturated, the arrangements are too loud

Radio version = not saturated, more concentrated in the voice and the strings! ^_^

That's what I said too....... Andre was like, 'Yay' then like, 'Aww' :giggle: I love Andre! Oh well, as long as the song does well! Come on video!!!

What is sure is that I prefer the verses now (with that "smooth E.Piano"), I don't know, for me it's like it expands the melody and adds some drama/melancholy.

According to me, those guitar riffs in the song were a little outdated also. So I would tend to prefer this alternate single mix.

That's what a "rockier" song is : saturated. Instruments have as much place as voice. The loud sound is what makes this song different than any "cleaner" Céline's song.

 

Then big LOL when I read words like dated and/or cheezy about the album version with guitars There's nothing more dated and cheezy than piano and strings. Plus, these instruments are mainly present in... 99,9% of her songs?

 

Funny how people are crying for new sounds but the slightest difference bothers them.

 

In general, I'm sick of the use of the word "dated" actually. On every forum, that's the most used one to describe new songs. It doesn't mean anything anymore but I'm curious to know which songs don't sound outdated for those people....
