Right, they need to get their act together and release QPVSA like now. I hope we'll have a fantastic videoclip for this song.

 

By the way, how long does it generally take to produce a videoclip like that?

If so, let's say I don't mind waiting a little bit more if that means a solid and well-produced videoclip (with no random people jumping around). B)

Yeah... but I don't think Thierry will travel again to Vegas to re-shoot the video. I mean, at least the Céline shots must be far done already!

 

The thing is, they should release the songs to the radios before the video!

Editing usually takes 1-2 weeks. Not more!

Sony took a few months to decide which will be the third single.

 

They announced it but without giving any release date.

 

I guess we will have to wait another couple of months to know when it will be sent to radios ( which will be a few weeks after... ).

 

We'll get the video afterwards.

 

I'd say around June? LOL

 

Their hearts are still going on... but very slowly!

I expect that nothing will change and this song will be physically released as well as previous singles on stupid 1-track CDs designed not for general public. As a collector but not a cash cow, Sans attendre is one of the biggest failure from this point of view, thumbs down.

Wait...what are you complaining about? You want a physical release for the single? But then you said that it will be released physically on a 1-track CD and then you complained about it...I am so confused, what are you complaining about?

 

Yes, a physical commercial release for general public, not only a couple of horrible overpriced promo copies. :wink:

People really need to understand that physical singles are NOT released anymore.

 

Only once in a while you'll see physical singles for some artists. That's it.

I don't think the costs of producing actual cds and sleeves (and /or plastic cases) are profitable enough for music companies to produce, distribute and sell them.

An mp3 for a euro or a dollar is much simpler and easier...

 

This is of course to my big dispair.... Céline was never a big single seller, and we have been very fortunate in the 90's, but the fact is, they don't make enough profit on singles anymore, thus they are no longer for sale :(

And it makes even less sense to have a physical single for the 3rd single...

 

It would make a bit more sense for the first single (since it's released before the album is available) but not for the other singles...

I don't think I have ever seen a physical single, but then again I'm 19 so I may have when I was younger but don't remember.

If you look at Sans attendre in France, about 80% of its sales are from physical albums... So I don't think physical albums will disappear anytime soon. At least not Céline's albums... Sony is smart when it comes to $$$$ :giggle:

I don't see a possible death of the CD album in the short term either (thank God), as long as there is people interested in buying the real thing I guess that record labels will still be making them, at least for online ordering or something... but what concerns CD singles, they seem to be living its last days :( Then precious treasures like these will be over :down:

 

Maybe its only valid for pure collectors like some of the fans here, maybe its a kind of nostalgic attachment, but I think many of us don't conceive recorded music without having it in its original source, which is a vinyl record or a CD. I would loathe if the day arrived where we had to switch on a computer to listen the music I like because its not available on a physical CD :confused1: (and I'm sure Céline and half the Sony staff think this way too! :P )

One of my favorite things is to go into a music store and flip through the selection for my favorite artists and see if I would find something new. It was always a welcome surprise when I'd find a new single. I think the last single from Celine I bought in the store was Tout L'or des hommes. It's a shame that we no longer get this with the new albums. Would be amazing to be able to go in and buy Qui peut Vivek sans amour as a single with maybe some bonus remix, live song or video, however I understand that it's not profitable for the music companies. After they are in the market of making money and what doesn't make money will be on the chopping block.

Some artists sometimes release compilations full of b-sides. There are fans who are waiting for it. As Céline's fans, we are full of expectations but at least, this one is not one of them. :-D

Yes, Céline never took big advantages of the possibilities that a single could offer, but we've had some nice treats with her too. Thanks to her singles we have today some remixes of her songs that would had never been available otherwise, since the Unison days :thumbsup2:

 

Also, I remember some unreleased tracks like "Send Me A Lover" or "Cry Just A Little", included in her singles only. Or "All Because Of You" in the (Goodbye's The Saddest Word), which by they way offered us a brand new photo not included in the (so wasted) ANDHC album photoshoot. Because the singles not only offered rare tracks or remixes, they also featured new photos that many times weren't included in the album booklet ^_^

 

Now that I mention the GTSW single, I think that was the last single in Céline's career that really was worth its release, offering a new photo + new song :blush: . I miss those days :down:

Well, remixes (as well as b-sides) are still being published on Itunes. Singles are not the only way to get them. Sony doesn't even bother to release Itunes singles ( i.e "Le Miracle") so I guess EP are just out of question.

But that's all the other artists do.

 

And out of dozens of singles , 2 new songs is NOTHING. "All because of you" was included on the "new edition" of ANDHC and the pix of the single was not new, it was already used not on the booklet but as promo (anyway, that cover was awful : they cut Celine's face and put it on a "photoshoppy" blue backgound").

 

Now that I mention the GTSW single, I think that was the last single in Céline's career that really was worth its release, offering a new photo + new song :blush: . I miss those days

 

GTSW was really nice indeed but for different reasons to me. The MAXI included the duet with Anastacia and the video of Goodbye's 'live' @ the CBS ANDHC special (which was cut when aired on TV). That was some rare stuff.

 

But since then , they did some efforts to appeal to fans :

 

"Je ne vous oublie pas" had a new version of "Sous le vent" (with the 500 choristes)

"Tous les secrets" had the english version of it (if I'm right , not avaible on another support)

"Et s'il n'en restait qu'une" had a new version of "Je ne vous oublie pas" (with the 500 choristes)

"Taking Chances" had "Map to my heart" (not available on CD except for Japon)
