mirage Posted June 19, 2012 at 08:00 PM Posted June 19, 2012 at 08:00 PM Yeah exactly Davey. No-one was expecting a tour but someone at the record label could've said "Hey instead of making a green screen video for the already released Have You Even Been In Love, why don't we make a cool hip video for the modern sounding Reveal?" can't we just send Reveal to radiostations? send anonymous disc to radiostations, with just this song on it... sometimes it did cross my mind, like songs as: Shadow Of Love, This Time, Naked, Reveal, Fade Away Quote
TiagoFragoso05 Posted December 15, 2012 at 06:58 PM Posted December 15, 2012 at 06:58 PM Come on! Do you really believe that OH was released as a gift for her fans while she was in Vegas? It's business baby! Sony released that because she had recorded IDAN for Chrysler and they knew that she would be on the adds and that would be everywhere to promote her shows. It's almost a Chrysler album! I remember seeing somewhere that in some country the album even came with Chrysler's logo. That's why we have so much tracks from others recording sessions, just to complete the track list. By the way, the Sorry For Love version in OH isn't the original. That's a remix. The original one is on ANDH. I have the american version of the album. And yes, there's a Chrysler logo, and " drive and love " written under. mike_z Posted December 17, 2012 at 07:50 AM Posted December 17, 2012 at 07:50 AM yes ONE HEART is probably one of her weakest album. but FAITH is one of celine's best songs ever!!! i cant see any reason to hate the song! and LTAL is also very weak. it sold 31M copies just because of MHWGO. but the whole album is very weak. FIY is definitely her best work. Indeed "Faith" was the best song on the album. It could have been a #1 hit.. Very Shania Twain-like. I dont't agree however that LTAL was a weak album! Maybe "LTAL" was a weak song, but that's just about it, with all those amazing duets and her mega powerful vocals!!! Quote
TiagoFragoso05 Posted December 17, 2012 at 07:53 AM Posted December 17, 2012 at 07:53 AM It seams to me like a " Chrysler Album " just to promote Chrysler and to give some new material to the fans .. anyway i LOVE this album.. and for me it's the "pop" album .. I don't know if u guys got, but the most "pop" album she has ever done .. and i just love OH so so much, i think i like all of her albums so so so so much. hhaha 1 Quote Please subscribe https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbdjLvrbSNwxQoeRsvZ5OWghttp://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0eWCf-j12uY/T-YMP5bDkpI/AAAAAAAACRg/rEnk4uy6aso/s400/Celine+Dion+-+Signature+Commercial+Behind+The+Scenes+(23612)+%5BHD%5D.mp4_snapshot_00.07_%5B2012.06.22_00.43.13%5D.jpg

LTAL for me, it was not a weak album, not at all, it sold so much.. but some songs are kind of boring sometimes.. And Faith, Reveal, Je t'aime encore.. for me these songs have the "potential" to became number 1, of course if they divulge, i mean, good videos, not green screen and special effects, singles on the radios. But i also think that they, Celine and Rene, did not want that at that time, 'coz of the Vegas show. she did 4 or 5 shows a week ( i can't remember ) , its to much.. no time, i guess.. 2 Quote Please subscribe https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbdjLvrbSNwxQoeRsvZ5OWghttp://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0eWCf-j12uY/T-YMP5bDkpI/AAAAAAAACRg/rEnk4uy6aso/s400/Celine+Dion+-+Signature+Commercial+Behind+The+Scenes+(23612)+%5BHD%5D.mp4_snapshot_00.07_%5B2012.06.22_00.43.13%5D.jpg

I was reading the One Heart booklet 'thank you' story and she write something like that.Anybody knows if it's ever performed or has she rehearsed that song for the show in 2002/2003? Interesting -- the exact quote is [describing her new show]: "But I could never describe the show to you - it's emotional, it's visual, it's theatre, it's dance, it's fantasy, it's everything, it's wild! I can't say I have any favorites, but I do have a great time doing "I Drove All Night," and another song from this album, "Love is All We Need." I really hope you come see the show." The way it's written, it does sound like Love is All We Need was planned to be part of the show. When I first heard the song back in '03, I did think she sounded a lot like Britney on the track. It's a slightly odd one, though, to say she has a "great time" doing it -- since the lyrics appear to be about domestic violence. Quote
smash Posted December 22, 2012 at 09:21 AM Posted December 22, 2012 at 09:21 AM I love the "One Heart" album, so many really nice songs on it. I love most of the CD. Am listening to this cd all the time at the moment. Way better than the same songs we have had for past 10 years. The French album is good of course, but I'm referring to English songs. Can't wait for "Water & A Flame" to come out. We seriously need some new English songs. Sharon Quote
LuisMa Posted December 22, 2012 at 09:29 AM Posted December 22, 2012 at 09:29 AM I think "One Heart" has several beautiful tracks, my favorite being "Faith", which would have been amazing on ANDHC, as it fits perfectly. The only thing I didn't like about this album is that they decided not to use the gorgeous Celine Dion logo for the first time since TCOML. 2 Quote

I agree, the same thing happened with '1 Fille & 4 Types', it was released in late 2003 and didn't receive a promo and chart position as huge as her previous French releases because of the Vegas show, a shame but at least she did the album. It's a shame because, altough I don't consider 'One Heart' to be a well-strong album, the sl gs are wonderful and I wish she had explored them a bit back in the day. 1 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)

LuisMa Posted January 2, 2013 at 04:13 PM Posted January 2, 2013 at 04:13 PM I also agree with you, Alex. The only thing I regret about this album is that ANDHC would possibly have given us more singles, and amazing videos hadn't this been so hurriedly planned. Allmusic's senior editor Stephen Thomas Erlewine rated it two-and-a-half stars out of possible five, writing that the collaboration with Britney Spears's producer Max Martin in three tracks was a sign of "desperation that underscores every minute of One Heart, where it seems like Dion will do anything to stay on the charts."[1] Erlewine also wrote that "One Heart favors a smooth Vegas-showstopper gloss to radio-ready sheen, which only accentuates the lack of cohesiveness here" and that the album "reveals all her weaknesses."[1] Chuck Arnold of People wrote a mixed review towards the album's songs, calling it "a bit jarring at times" and that "Dion sounds so strangely subdued on some tracks, you keep waiting for her to really let rip."[7] Either way, she wrote positively that "There is a lightness to One Heart that has been missing from much of Dion's previous work, as she leans more toward upbeat dance numbers, easy-listening rock and even borderline country-pop."[7]Entertainment.Ie's Andrew Lynch was more negative, writing that "The problem is, Dion's songwriters seem to have been under strict instructions to keep the material as bland as possible. And while her glass-shattering voice is as spectacular as ever, she still doesn't sound as if she believes a word of what she's singing. One Heart is certainly one of her better collections - but frankly, that isn't saying very much."[3] The Guardian's Betty Clarke wrote that "Dion proves she can be more than a series of hollow - if album-shifting - sentiments."[5] Darryl Sterdan wrote a very negative review for Jam!, saying that "it's bad enough the 14-song CD is full of unoriginal, instantly forgettable fluff -- leftover Britney bubble-pop from Max Martin, cliche chest-pounding power ballads, a title cut that's a blatant Shania soundalike and a Cher-style Eurodisco revamp of the Roy Orbison hit I Drove All Night, which she's already turned into a Chrysler jingle."[6]Instead of the mixed and negative reviews, a positive review came from Amazon's Rebecca Wallwork, who praised Celine for "an unrelenting theme of joy and believing in one's self"[2] and highlighted the album for "being both well timed and well executed."[2] But she revealed that "it contains no surprises, but then, besides her voice, that's one of Dion's biggest assets."[2] In a more positive review, Entertainment Weekly's Elisabeth Vincentelli questioned "why Celine get so little respect?" and later went to praise the album for "Dion's uncanny ability to infuse sincerity into aural Hallmark cards and sound like the only person on earth who believes in true love." In the end, she wrote: "And in our age of postmodern ironists, isn't it refreshing to encounter someone who so genuinely loves her job?"[4] Slant Magazine's Sal Cinquemani praised "the album as a whole", saying that "she continues the restrained approach of her last record, both in production and performance."[8] He finished the review, noting that "One Heart may be the smartest album Dion could make at this stage in her career."[8] Quote

mike_z Posted March 2, 2013 at 03:19 PM Posted March 2, 2013 at 03:19 PM "FAITH" made up for LIAWN, Forget me not, and many others that I skip. "Faith", "In His Touch", "I drove all night" are the best songs on the album. It was also the first album were Céline's voice started to weaken. She lost the nuances and crystal clear quality that she had before... and "nasal" and "raspy" began to appear. I think it wasn't the songs, it was the voice that scared the hell out of the fans back then! We were losing "POWERFUL" Céline. The last powerful "CELINE" ballads we had were "PRAYER" and "GOODBYE'S (THE SADDEST WORD)", and in some way "I SURRENDER" (even though she still had the power, she had lost the "nuances" and "crystal clear quality"). That's the reality, guys! 1 Quote
wjd Posted March 2, 2013 at 06:43 PM Posted March 2, 2013 at 06:43 PM No, its not the reality at all - the production on One Heart is quite lousy in parts, and that detracts from the songs, especially given the perfect production on the preceding album, A New Day Has Come. I think her vocals on One Heart are masterful - as powerful as ever, a continuation of her A New Day Has Come album, and the last album to feature THAT voice. Miracle was when you could see holes in her vocal performance, and you could hear the loss of the nuances that made her unique and special. And then Taking Chances solidified her rougher vocals - though I do still love how she sounds on that album, especially in the verses of Surprise Surprise and A World To Believe In, when she's not belting. As for One Heart, this has slowly become one of my favourite pop albums of ALL-TIME; it is simple, non-bombastic and beautifully put together - its a great album, featuring some truly fantastic Celine songs. 2 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
