nature boy Posted January 23, 2008 at 03:30 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 03:30 PM I love it and I think it's very underrated. O aggree she took more chances woth OH than she did with TC. I remeber some fans were crying out for less ballads from Celine and more pop. Well that's what she gave them. But guess what? Lots of the fans did nothing but *CENSORED* about the whole album becausew it was a very pop album. There are some amazing pop songs on there...Love it! 1 Quote http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/3239/kylieima5lp9.jpg How do you describe a feeling??
Black Kitten Posted January 23, 2008 at 03:30 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 03:30 PM i understand why you reacted that way. i'm sorry but i really found that album weak. look at the singles, only 1 song hit the chart. that's MHWGO. but sweety that's just my own observation. i just dont like the album that much. too much colaboration maybe. FIY sold 32M copies because look at the singles, IACBTMN at #2, BYLM #1, ABMS #4. and that's the peak year of celine. the album sold truckloads of cd because of the songs, not on only 1 song. FIY sold 32M without depending on a movie's popularity, collaborations, its celine alone. and the hits of course. of course why buy an all instrumental soundtrack album when you can buy an album filled with barbra streisand, bee gees, carole king, george martin, bryan adams, lucianopavarotti. but both albums (titaninc ost'/ltal) sold well.Without depending on a movie's popularity? Maybe you don't know it but ''Because you loved Me'' is theme song from 'Up Close & Personal' movie. Celine even performed the song at the Oscar in 1997!i know that. but "up close & personal" is undeniably not as huge as "titanic". 1997-1998 was a titanic era. not all people know UCAP movie. and pls don't take my observation so seriously. its just me. i just dont like LTAL that much. call me crazy, call me stupid, but honestly i can listen to OH all day, than LTAL. not everybody loves LTAL like most of you do. its my personal choice and observation so learn to respect that. i dont care about the 31M cds sold,im talking about the music that gives pleasure to my ear and an observation that doesn't make me less of a celine fan. FIY, CD and TC are FOR ME, her best efforts. Quote

Javier_Natalio Posted January 23, 2008 at 05:40 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 05:40 PM (edited) OH, well it's one of her most consistent work since her self titled album, right? she always tries to be so prolific and please everyone, but not with this one; it was mostly fun. I was never too fond of it bc her voice sounded weird all through the record, Naked never felt right, Faith never fulfilled me, One Heart is so plastic, Love Is All We Need is weird and awkward, I Know What Love Is is so Celine-ish it's not even funny, it's like she's copying herself. Overall underproduced, and also beleaguering for Celine to trade her classic grandiouse-ness for cheaper pop. But I adore Reveal though. Je T'ame Encore is touching and I can actually recognize her voice in it. Have You ever Been in Love is repeated bc they needed a single and the song is good so I aprove it. Sorry for Love 2003 though, not so much. I propose an overall remixed version. All tracks remixed, changed dramatically, just for the underwhelmed fans! And to whomever said they'd rather listen to OH than to LTAL, I second that!!!!! Edited January 23, 2008 at 05:45 PM by wacko.javo 1 Quote

becomplete Posted January 23, 2008 at 06:03 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 06:03 PM For me it is one of Celine's most diverse albums. It contains some of her best songs, for instance "Reveal" and "Naked", but Sony and Celine's Team didn't take the chance they had on their hands with this great album to promote the said songs. Otherwise "One Heart" could have become more succesful than "A new day has come" in my opinion. What it lacks is the power ballad Celine is known for. Quote

blue.grave Posted January 23, 2008 at 06:29 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 06:29 PM I thought this album was great. To me it was just another one of Celine's moods. Edwin Posted January 23, 2008 at 08:24 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 08:24 PM Very underrated album. So she got a little promo from Chrysler. It is still chock full of great songs. Quote
celbabs Posted January 23, 2008 at 10:43 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 10:43 PM This is definitely one of her weaker English albums for me. I have too much time on my hands at my "job" so I'm going to go song by song: 1) I Drove All Night - good song, definitely enjoy the track2) Love Is All We Need - vomit, Justin Timberlake should've recorded it - worst line EVER: "Don't you find that IRONICAL" - IRONICAL????!!!!! BAD writing3) Faith - One of the most boring sounding songs ever; however, I got a remix of it and it's one of my favorite songs of hers (the remix version)4) In His Touch - Great song, she's never acted a song so well as in this performance5) One Heart - I can play it only if I'm cleaning my apartment6) Stand By Your Side - I do like this song as well7) Naked - I do enjoy this song, but I'm never gonna put the album in to specifically listen to it8) Sorry For Love (2003 Version) - what a f&!#ing joke9) Have You Ever Been In Love - REPEAT TRACK - PATHETIC10) Reveal - I've listened to this song maybe twice - HATE IT11) Coulda Woulda Shoulda - This song should've never been written or recorded and ESPECIALLY not recorded by Celine - a waste of her vocal chords12) Forget Me Not - I listed to this song twice too I think13) I Know What Love Is - a good song but writing a line like "there's no words that go that deep" is lazy writing14) J'Taime Encore - Now THIS is a great song!!!!! Too bad I had to wade through the entire album to get to it! I rarely put in this album - I can hear I Drove All Night from the live CD. I actually made a One Heart album for myself with the following track listing and listen to it a little more 1) I Drove All Night2) Love is All We Need3) Sorry For Love4) Faith5) In His Touch6) One Heart7) Stand By Your Side8) Have You Ever Been In Love?9) Coulda Woulda Shoulda10) I Know What Love Is11) J'Taime Encore12) Naked13) You And I14) Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way I will often put it in to hear YAI and AGLTOW and then end up listening to some of the others on there that I like. scorp82 Posted January 23, 2008 at 10:58 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 10:58 PM (edited) I love it and I think it's very underrated. O aggree she took more chances woth OH than she did with TC. It's a very good one! Besides, LTAL is not a weak album I think is a gem! I agree with many of the statements made in this thread! We all know that Celine is primarily known for the power ballads and the album did lack a power ballad. And I also think that she took more chances with this album than she has on any other recording, including Taking Chances (as a record, not the song. [Although Taking Chances does have a different sound than all previous albums] ). However, she took a great chance with One Heart. I think that One Heart definitely has a very Euro-pop feel to it. Then again, I think we can say that One Heart was released to complement the debut of "A New Day..." and it was more of a gift to the fans than anything else. If it were not for the debut of "A New Day..." I really do not think an album like One Heart would be released on its own. I Drove All Night was the single off the album and was going to be performed in Vegas... Have You Ever Been in Love was also a single because even though it was not released as a single when A New Day Has Come was released, the song was performed in Vegas when the show first premiered. I know many people were surprised Have You Ever Been in Love was not released when A New Day Has Come was released, but I have a feeling Celine knew the song as a single was going to be delayed and she probably had planned its release along with One Heart as the Vegas preparations ensued. Nonetheless, it can be said that it is a "weak" album in comparison to all other albums, but it is underrated. I'm not particularly crazy about Faith or Stand by Your Side, but I love I Drove All Night, Reveal, Naked, Je t'aime Encore... It is a great album! boyblackuk Posted January 23, 2008 at 11:17 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 11:17 PM I love the OH album because of its fun side, its not to serious, Celine changed her style a little and tried new things. REVEAL which is on this album is in my opinion her best song ever...I love it. The whole album is fun and not to serious like FIY and LTAL which I think is to be commended and it was still a big hit for its time 1 Quote

miracle_girl Posted January 23, 2008 at 11:34 PM Posted January 23, 2008 at 11:34 PM yes ONE HEART is probably one of her weakest album. but FAITH is one of celine's best songs ever!!! i cant see any reason to hate the song! and LTAL is also very weak. it sold 31M copies just because of MHWGO. but the whole album is very weak. FIY is definitely her best work. OMG I Nearly Freaked When You Wrote LTAL Is A weak Album!!! <<< can you tell??Obviously every one is entitled to their oppinion,, but i feel that yeah FIY Is the best album yet followed closely by LTALI adore that album so much and i dont think its because MHWGO Other wise why did FIY Sell so much???i understand why you reacted that way. i'm sorry but i really found that album weak. look at the singles, only 1 song hit the chart. that's MHWGO. but sweety that's just my own observation. i just dont like the album that much. too much colaboration maybe. FIY sold 32M without depending on a movie's popularity, collaborations, its celine alone. and the hits of course. of course why buy an all instrumental soundtrack album when you can buy an album filled with barbra streisand, bee gees, carole king, george martin, bryan adams, lucianopavarotti. but both albums (titaninc ost'/ltal) sold well. well you should get your facts straight, cos today exactly 10 years ago Tell Him was number 2 in the Dutch singles Chart and Immortality was also a pretty big hit! And even though The Reason and Treat Her Like A Lady didn't do that good, doesn't mean the album is weak! It has powerful songs like Us, LTAL, MTGBIS, JALBOL.... Yeah i was just about to say the same thing in the Uki can remember Tell him got to number 3 in the chart The reason got to number 11MHWGO number 1and Immortality number 5 now thats 4 top 20 hits with 3 being top 5compared to the 3 top ten hits FIY had!!
