I love the album immensily. It's fresh, happy, light and sometimes it is even sexy. It used to be my favorite Celine's album. Until recently. Until "Taking Chances". :)
Love comes to those who believe it...

OH was album with the greatest hit potencial ever celines album had, thats the fact -_-

but was completely destroyed because of a new day show

One Heart was indeed a good album; in fact, as many of us have said, it is a bit underrated as well.

However, I respect everyone's opinions. But I really don't think that One Heart was the album that had the greatest hit potential. First, Celine really took a chance with One Heart. The sound on that album was unlike any albums she had released before. I don't think that "A New Day..." ruined the prospects of One Heart. As I already stated on this thread, I believe One Heart was released to complement the debut of "A New Day..." and as a gift to the fans. It might have also been released as a part of a marketing tool. But I don't Celine even anticipated One Heart to match the likes of Falling into You or Let's Talk about Love. The album was just complement "A New Day..." and since Celine knew it would be awhile before she would have another English language album, she released One Heart for the fans. She recorded just a handful of songs, recorded Je T'aime Encore in English, re-sang Sorry for Love, and included Have You Ever Been in Love and Coulda Woulda Shoulda. That was it.

Personally, I love Let's Talk About Love. It is an excellent, high quality album. The record is just superb. The song choices, vocals, and the productions were clearly outstanding.

I also think that Let's Talk About Love showcases some of Celine's best work, in addition to Falling into You. Songs such as My Heart Will Go On, The Reason, Us, and To Love You More add to the greatness of the album. Other songs such as Where is the Love and Miles to Go (Before I Sleep) are also great. The wonderful collaborations of Tell Him with Barbra Streisand, Immortality with the BeeGees, and I Hate You Then I Love You with Luciano Pavarotti clearly make the album a cut above the rest!

And if I were an artist, that's the type of album I would want in my discography!

In an interview with Rosie O'Donnell, Celine talked about how pleased she was with Let's Talk About Love. In fact, Celine said that with the album, she could leave the industry, not come back, cook at home, play golf, and be completely happy.

she never re-sang SORRY FOR LOVE. it's still the same vocals on ANDHC,but with different arrangements, more slower and thats the original version of the song, and ANDHC version is just the remix version but released earlier than the original. :flowers:

Really? I knew the arrangements were different. I thought it was re-sung because some notes have different pitches than the original version... Some notes are not as high nor as long in duration as some notes in the original version.

I really like One Heart. I don't agree that it was a huge leap from her other releases. It's very similar to ANDHC, in fact you could take both albums hack them apart, but together random tracks to make a new album and not be able to tell the difference. But, as stated, the albums do compliment each other well.

Unfortunately I don't have my own copy of One Heart, but I go listen to it all the time on TeamCeline. It makes me happy and it reminds me of her french albums because the songs have character and a certain kind of substance that make me want to listen to them over and over. Thanks, T.

I only wish One Heart had more than 14 tracks! :in_love:

the long part was "IM NOT SORYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!", right? the remix version on ANDHC only extended that part to give 'twist' to the song which is very cool because you can imagine celine actually singing those 10 sec or so notes. and they dropped some parts of that song near the end because some adlibs didnt fit to the remix version. i prefer the OH version because it it slower and original that the ANDHC version. its sounds like a cher's disco song.

Yes! That's note that I was referring to! And there's another note that sounds different, too: "... I wouldn't take back a thing" which is sung after the high note of "... I'm not sorry..." The notes on both versions of the song sound very different; I still think Celine re-recorded the vocals on the 2003 version for One Heart.

But we all know Celine can perfectly hit the notes!

Posted
The song was not re-recorded. It is the original version of the song on OH and a remix version on ANDHC. As to the "wouldn't take back a thing" difference. If you listen to the two versions, you will notice that on ANDHC, the track has the big "I"M NOT SORRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" which is then held by whoever is "mixing it". If you listen closely, you will hear that when the mixer brings her out of the note, he is actually using her lick at the end of "wouldn't take back a thing". I hope that makes sense. I am a singer myself (I thankfully make my living at it right now). If there are any other singers on the board, can you also hear how they take those two notes and splice them together?

I have to agree with the topic title: I think it's a weak album.

But I also have to admit that I'm someone who has been following Céline since she won the Eurovision Songcontest. I loved her hits "Ne partez pas sans moi" and "Where does my heart beat now". When she had her third top 40 hit here in Holland (Beauty and the Beast) I bought my first Celine cd: "Celine Dion".

I loved the album so much I started to buy all her previous albums. And ever since I've always bought her albums the first day they were released.

But for me: I prefer the "soulful" albums, the albums she made when I got really addicted to Miss Dion: Celine Dion, The Colour of my Love, Falling into you...

One Heart comes nowhere near the albums I just named. But I can understand that for the newer fans, the album is not that bad. But personally there are only three songs I really like on this one: the first three: I drove all night, Love is all we need, Faith.

To tell you the truth I think I will love any album Celine puts out.

Ok, now I like the album more than I used to. It took me a while, but now I love many of the tracks. The only tracks I can't stand are the album versions of Faith, One Heart, and also Sorry For Love (2003 Version). However, I do love the Original 3 Edits of Faith and One Heart. While I still don't think it's Celine's best album(Taking Chances still stands as her best English album, and 1 fille & 4 types overall), it's certainly a very good album. The best songs are I Drove All Night, Naked, Reveal, and Je t'aime encore.

One Heart was maybe the greatest mess in Celine's career! This album contains so many songs that have the potential to become smash hits! In His Touch, Stand By Your Side, Reveal, Coulda Woulda Shoulda, I Know What Love Is or Je T'aime Encore...At least Celine could have performed more songs from it during the Las Vegas show! Of course she couldn't do the whole show with those songs but, I Drove All Night was quite lonely! Even though sales were not as much as it could have been, I really love it! The perfect CD to listen and to sing along in the car! Love it!

I love One Heart! I think it's very upbeat, funky and modern. It's sort of the sequel to A New Day Has Come, because there are lots of up tempo songs as well as some beautiful ballads like I Know What Love Is, which makes it an amazing Celine album!

Also this was her last album released in only 1 version!

I looove all her tracks on One Heart.. My fav must be I Know What Love Is... <33

love the RNB feel of Forget Me Not, and the sincerity of I Know What Love Is :wub2:

for me one heart is tainted by everything that surrounded it....vegas....the redesign of her cds....the production of the album and the inclusion of songs that had either been re-hashed or already been released AND the sell out style coupling with Chrysler.

C-H-E-E-P!

Having said that i love the album! hahaha - i think the production could have been better on ALOT of songs - it sounds reeeeally EURO - and I HATE sorry for love.....it wa s agod awful potential eurovision entry on A New Day Has Come (which still to this day i think is the main reason its one of my least fav celine albums) and is equally crap on one heart. You can't polish....u get the picture. AND coulda woulda shoulda.....ummm.....filler.com...this song will always in my eyes be seen as a b-side - its not good enough for an album and i always forget its on there coz when i first put the album on my ipod i didnt include that song or sorry for love....perfect haha.

But It has a few of my fav celine songs on like....love is all we need....in his touch....faith and reveal which is one of the tracks on there that i think is actually produced beaaautifully - i love the futuristic....profound feel it has about it.

and i love the photoshoot for the album but the design looked tacky from the typeface to the colours etc and again with the photos being of celine in chrysler cars most of the time it was hard to distance the album from anything more than a marketing tool for vegas and cars which is a shame!

I believe that One Heart is her weakest album next to Miracle. But there are still some songs on One Heart that I love.I love the songs Stand By Your Side,Faith,In His Touch,One Heart,Reveal,I Know What Love Is and Je T'Aime Encore. It is still a good album. It's just one of her weakest albums.

the only songs i like are "forget me not" and "i know what love is"

i think "i know what love is" would have done great

I like One Heart,I Drove All Night the most, and I think Love Is All We Need is great too! Faith,I Know What Love Is ,Naked,In His Touch are very nice.Coulda Woulda Shoulda are cool songs. I don't like Forget Me Not,but it's a try for Celine,I think she performed it very well, the song listened uncomfortablly just because the notes are not good enough.

After all ,I think this album matches the pace of the time and get rid of the old-fashioned style,I love it.

I love the songs Naked and I know what love is,

it's a good album.
