Dion said the doctor assured her she’ll be “back to 100 percent” after resting her voice, but she said she’s disappointed by the cancellations.

 

“Obviously this is the worst thing for a singer ... not being able to do your shows,” she said. “I feel worse knowing that I’m disappointing my fans. I’m so sorry ... I hope they forgive me.”

I'm on a virtual teeter-totter between fear/concern and avid radical faith and knowing that she will come around again. It is a moment by moment turning it over. We need to pray. We need to do whatever it is we do to send love/energy/good toughts to her. That's what will make her better. Stress will not it only makes it worse. There are times I feel powerless and helpless to do jack s*** about this. But I'm not. Not at all. We have the greatest force/weapon out there to help her. If I could I would give her strength and my voice to get her through the next month of shows. I do have a singing audition coming so would need it for about a week or so, but what the hell else am I doing with it?

We just have ot believe she is going to pull through this. I know we are seeing a bit of fradgility and delicacy in that voice, but I'm still under the persuasion that she is gonna be able to belt those notes until she's 70. Why not. This is just a bump in the road, a stumbling block. This does NOT have to defeat her. What she does with/because of it is up to her.

We just lost Whitney, let's let it help us appreciate our wonderful amazing Celine all the more.

Our dearest one, get better as soon as you can, leave the stress behind and focus on you. We love you more than you will ever know in your good or bad days. Loving someone when they need it, not just when it's good, but when it counts...I Know What Love Is!!! And I learned from her.

Oh that is so sad! I did not know it was that bad. Well I hope time will heal her voice. And so sad she says that she is hoping her fans will forgive her.. . Of course we do. And there is nothing to forgive.. if you are ill you are ill and the only thing important now is her health.

Hope she does not loose her beautiful voice permanently.

 

Celine you are an amazing and sweet caring person.

Best wishes to you and hope you fully recover. And please, don't lengthen that contract with Vegas because

it's not good for your vocals chords I think. Spend all the time with your family now and let them be there

for you and enjoy your precious time together with Rene, your three children and your family and we hope

Try selling them on marktplaats? Is that even possible? and hang folders in all your local stores ( supermarkets). Sorry for you...

America is a nice country. Hope you will have a nice vacation even though it is not because your maingoal, visiting Celine..

I think the boutique will be open... it's always open, even if she's not performing that day....

 

 

And there are tons of stuff to do and see in Vegas: Hooverdam, Grand Canyon, the outlet shopping mall, geweldige shows like Ka, The Lion King etc etc... You'll enjoy yourself anyway! Even though it's very sh!te you'll be missing out on Céline's show

Hi,reading these messages about Celine being unwell, I have been a big fan of Celine for many years like all of us here on this this forum, the inspiration,warm and her heart and soul is felt by us where she exceeds all boundaries on or off stage.

But like all of us Celine is only human so lets give her a break and let her recover and rest her voice and health are very important to us all.

I think cancelling the shows is very stressfull for her because she doesn't want to cancel for the fans but has to at doctors advice.

 

It's a shame because I leave for Vegas March 7 and was so happy to see Celine again. I hope to see her next year, but that's so far away!

But I'll make the best of it: there are a lot of Celine linked things you can do and that's what I will do:

- Titanic artifact exhibition in Luxor

Yes maybe you are right, and it would be very fine if she could recorded album in may, but woudn´t it be a risk to do it a few weeks before new series of shows started? One of the causes of laryngitis is strain of vocal cords and she has a shows in june and it will be first priority I think, I really want to believe that she will be 100% OK and she could do album and her shows also. When I heard about canceling so much shows, first what I was thinking about was that Las Vegas show is not so good for her (yes it´s good for family, stability and so ...) but not for her voice, I really believe that Céline and René think twice about extended LV show and they decidced not to exteded it. She can´t do so much shows (yes it´s half or AND but still much) year after year after year, if she do a tour she could do 80,70,60, or 50 shows a year and than she can be 2 or 3 years home on Florida with her family and her VOICE can relax and regenerate and during that time she would have enough time to record albums.

I was meaning that I genuinely want her to get better no matter how many shows she needs to cancel or how long the album gets postponed, I'm not just saying what I think will be popular for extra "fan points".

 

I'm sure she will be fine, she has the best teams in the world looking after her. And she knows her voice better than anything (just about) so she'll know when she's back to her best and hopefully we'll hear how she's doing over the next few weeks. If you are going to Las Vegas regardless, purchase tickets to Cirque d'Soleil's show "O". We saw if last year when we went to LV to see Celine. It was totally fantastic. I would have seen it again if we had been in town longer! Truly, it would be worth your money and time.

Thomas, I love your thinking/reasoning. I don't need fan points, the points I want are with her. I know the kind of fan I am, and if some don't get/know/like it, oh well. The only person I really have to answer to about that is me...and her if I ever met her. SOmetimes being a certain way may not be popular, but a true fan knows what that means and if they are. I love how you put it, no matter what she has to do.I want an album so bad too, you guys, but I'd rather have it at her ultimate than make her force it because we have some expectation or remembering of the past. I want to hear it, but I can wait, and I will willingly do so without complaint because I know why and it's a good reason.

Although the article says shows are cancelled until June, there are no shows scheduled between March 18th and June. April/May were months off anyway, so it is not as bad as the articles will make out. Feel so sorry for the fans who miss out, and of course Celine. Get well soon Celine!

For the speaking spanish fans, this was on a Costa Rica (La Nación) newspaper today:

 

It basically says that Celine canceled her shows because of an illness, the doctor recommended her to rest 6-8 weeks.
