celinefan1991 Posted February 27, 2012 at 03:34 AM Posted February 27, 2012 at 03:34 AM Poor Celine! Hearing that just breaks my heart! I know she feels just terrible about these cancelations. I hope she gets well soon! One random question though. Where does Rene film Star Academie? He doesn't fly back to Canada every week does he? Especially while Celine has shows in vegas? I can't watch Star Academie and I was just curious how that works? Quote

Bellamy Posted February 27, 2012 at 05:39 AM Posted February 27, 2012 at 05:39 AM I'm surprised at that, too. Several here have said that they showed the blond AND DVD a few times when a show was cancelled during her last gig in Vegas.Isn't that after the blonde DVD was shoot? There is no DVD shooting for this show yet. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!

browseceline Posted February 27, 2012 at 10:44 AM Posted February 27, 2012 at 10:44 AM Look I feel bad for Celine. I do. Cause this is a stress for all involved especially with all the $$$ lost in shows. But I flew from Nova Scotia just to see her. Now mind you, I really enjoyed my time in Vegas but it was Celine I went to see. What pissed me off about the whole thing was the last minute decison to cancel. We (all in my party) took the entire day to get ready, buy outfits, drive to the coliseum have dinner and then wait to get in......and then some usher who was not friendly says "she can't hit the notes so the show is cancelled." Well let me tell you, pissed off a ton of fans that night, because I WAS THERE and saw it. People were WILD. Not cause they didn't beleive she was sick, but because she or her team cancelled 45 minutes BEFORE A SHOW. Now reports said she was fighting this for three days. Personally, I think they should of called it off then. I heard she 'really wanted' to sing and thats why last minute, which I respect. However, if the "show must go on" i think that if you wait until that long......go on. Lip if you have to. But I think it's far to late to cancel a show when fans are dressed, and lined up outside the doors and the ushers tell you doors opening soon!!!!!!!! I spent $2000 to see her, if the show as cancelled at least 24 hours in advance I could of made alternate arrangements for another show that night more easily and saved a lot of money on other items. There were people crying. I cried. There was another couple who came before, show was cancelled and this time........they said never again. I"ll say it again, but she lost a lot of fans that night. Not because we don't care about her, but how it was handled. Poorly. I will always be a Celine fan and will even try to see her show again, but I really want her management and the Coliseum to know this was handled extremely poorly. They were getting earfulls.......people were really laying into her team. Man it was a sight, so I hope this relays my frustration. Celine I wish you all the best, I really do, but out of respect for those of uf who pay your salary and travel to see you, give us the decency of some notice and not breaking our hearts in front of your doors with less than an hour to showtime! You have all the right to be pissed! And yes they should have announced that earlier. I know most of all people here are like... Celine can't helpt it etc. And yes having this ain't nice I am sure and she has the pressure of doing these shows every night. But truth is, Celine and Rene committed themselves to this stressed schedule. I think when you sing that often it can't be good for the vocal chords.. can it?I think Celine will recover soon and do her shows again. If you have spend a lot of travelmoney, like 2000 euros, like you , it just can't be done like this, announcing it far too late. So much money at stake..They should have announced that earlier.. period. Unless something really serious happens, like something really tragic happens with her and/or her family. J-Man Posted February 27, 2012 at 11:19 AM Posted February 27, 2012 at 11:19 AM I have spoken a couple of times about the day my one chance to see A New Day got cancelled cause of Celine getting sick. I found out about three hours before the show started. It was devastating at the time and it took me a while to get over it that night. But I never blamed Céline. It wasn't her fault. Just one of those things. And you can't expect to get anything more than your ticket refunded. As someone said, it's just the gamble you have to take. But I do sympathize with all those who lost out Best thing I did was to go and buy ticket for KA after I had composed myself. It wasn't the same, but it was better than staying curled up in the hotel bathroom. Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png

Emilyb Posted February 27, 2012 at 06:54 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 06:54 PM It's just the risk you take when you travel all that way to see her. It's not Celine's fault, would you prefer her to injure herself more? Nor didn't think so, therefore build a bridge Quote
Belle Céline Posted February 27, 2012 at 07:04 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 07:04 PM (edited) I don't think this had anything to do with her being in Jamaica. The concert there was long enough ago that had she picked this up then she would have already gotten sick. I've just looked at my tickets again from March. On the back it says the following: ''Event subject to cancellation and time subject to change'', which clearly says they do have the right to cancel the show. The fact of the matter is, when you buy your ticket you accept that there is always a risk involved. They are protected because of that clause on the back and therefore don't owe any of the ticket holders anything, except of course a refund.Actually not all venues will refund your money. The venue I saw Loretta Lynn at over the weekend expressly states on their website and on the front of the tickets there will be absolutely NO refunds for any reason not even if the show is out right cancelled for good. Also I understand why fans are so mad over this, especially if it was KNOWN Celine had been having problems for DAYS before it was cancelled. They did a very, very poor job of cancelling. They should have announced it when she first got sick, not days later. That is unfair to the fans. The first time I was supposed to see Loretta Lynn back last October I was already dressed, had my make up on, had been talking to my friends about what time we were leaving, and I get online one more time from my Ipod and just happened to get on Facebook and see the post about the show being cancelled. Then a little while later I see the reason, Loretta had been hospitalized around 3am with pneumonia. I was angry that they didn't announce the cancellation until a few hours before the show but I imagine that Loretta's children were far more concerned about their 76 year old mothers health than they were of letting fans know at 3 or 4am that a show was cancelled. I was angry but I understood why they waited to say anything and they promised our show would be rescheduled soon. When I found out just how sick Loretta truly was there was no longer any anger over it, I just wanted her to get well. We finally got to see Loretta this past Saturday and let me tell you it was well worth the wait. I do hope those who traveled to see Celine will get the chance to again. I just hope that the backlash over the poor handling of the cancellations will knock some sense into Celine's people. Doubt it though. This is really awfull! So many fans fly to Las Vegas, and many of them save their money for months and months. But as Celine's a human being she can turn sick and as much as she said in interviews she really knows that and how bad she feels, when she has to cancel her shows. I don't know why they have something for those disappointed fans who flew around the world? Maybe a very special backstage movie which is only shown on that occasion. Or at least they could give back the money for the tickets. I hope she get's well soon. Quote
Emilyb Posted February 27, 2012 at 07:29 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 07:29 PM She announced it 45 minutes before because she was so determined to do the show but just couldn't do it? You generally have to understand what it is like from her perspective Quote
ferjaacu Posted February 27, 2012 at 08:05 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 08:05 PM (edited) These are all speculations... Celine is sick, she wanted to do the show but something happened to her and they had to cancel the shows. Maybe she was fine, but then she lost her voice right 1 hour before the show. Who knows?? But 1 thing I can assure you... They didn't do it just because. They wouldn't want to get this negative response towards them like to do it on purpose or without thinking on the fans Edited February 27, 2012 at 08:07 PM by ferjaacu Quote http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3216/5786913948_369265dbeb_m.jpg FERLO
Kyle_Jared Posted February 27, 2012 at 09:56 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 09:56 PM I still hold to it that 45 minutes before the show was too soon! I still can't believe she let it go that long. We were all on the stairs. It was so bad that the ushers said to me at 6:00pm "Come back in 30 minutes and the doors will be opened" talk about no communication. Why didnt she cancel it at 3:00pm when she did her soundcheck instead of waiting until 4000 people get dressed and come through traffic and get at the Coliseum. Additonally, when I called for Cirque Du Soliel tickets the next night the lady said if I was seeing other shows and I said "Celine cancelled" and without hesitation she said "Oh God....she is Notorios for that" Again, I belive Celine. I hope she gets well and I wish the other fans who are attending in March a wondeful experiecne....but this last minute cancellation was uncalled for. I hold to that. Quote
fred Posted February 27, 2012 at 10:15 PM Posted February 27, 2012 at 10:15 PM Hope she gets well soon, and gets some proper rest! She shouldn't do so many songs and so many nights in Vegas. Yes I know this is not probably the Vegas show's fault. But still the quantity is so unessesary. Too bad she didnt' record a new album this last year when her voice was still on top. It was just a matter of time before Vegas ruined it. Perhaps that time is now. But I will back off from the melodrama. Get well Céline! And rest! (BTW, when closing a topic - like the English album topic - please add reason to why it's closed, an explanation, would feel less totalitarian) /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

Over use of the voice is one of the causes of Laryngits. Recording this album on time off, squeezing in a Jamacia conert......it's all too much. If she's doing Vegas and off for a few weeks.......rest your damn voice. Record the album when you have 3 months off in a row. Since we're adding profound statements, I would like to interject that I really miss the presence of some the older, more objective moderators of the forum who at least had some clue about the subject of the forum rather that one or two more interested in policing courtesy.
