I'm surprised no one has posted anything about this, but the rumor started circulating late tonight that all shows through June have been canceled, according to one of the orchestra players. No other sources have confirmed or denied anything, but his lasted Facebook status says, "For those of you who may have seen my post from earlier tonight, please disregard it. It looks like I was mistaken."

 

Anyone know what's going on?

I've also sent a PM to Barnev, as well. I, just like so many others, was scheduled to fly out there in 2 weeks, so I'm on pins & needles waiting to hear.

ATTENTION: Everyone needs to hold on, and if I've caused anyone to jump to any conclusions, I sincerely apologize. I may have gotten bad info, so please forgive my post from earlier. My facebook page is not an official Celine site, I merely speculated where I shouldn't have, and for that I am sorry. Anything not reported from Celine's official website is merely rumors and speculation. If there is any news to report, I assure you, it will be found there. Thank you.

I'm hoping that what he reported was just gossip but unfortunately now that he has posted I'm fairly sure no one else that words for CDA will even mention unless it becomes officially announced by Team Celine. On the one hand my March trip was always touch-and-go so it would not affect me as much as someone else but it's sad that she's still so sick she'd have to cancel that far in advance.

I've seen the updates, but another forum member who has another source (apparently someone also close to Celine) is telling her it's true. Again, I haven't seen this or heard this from anyone else, so I have no idea what's going on. At any rate, the fair thing to do is for them to make the announcement (either way) ASAP as to what's happening.

I'd like them to think about it and not try compensate for cancelling last minute on the 22nd by cancelling all March shows already. And they wouldn't announce either way. As far as anyone is concerned the shows are going on as scheduled. You wouldn't make an announcement for that unless the rumors really got out of it hand, like the media started reporting on it. When are you going out there? I wasn't scheduled to go until 3/17. I would hope, by then, we should know..hahaha

I was going to go the 15th-19th to see the last 3 shows before the break. Gotta love rumors, they can go either way! I've already thought about both scenarios so I can make peace with either of them.

Those were my dates, too - the 17th to 20th. I'm still on the fence about whether I'd still go. All things considered (no refunds, etc.), I probably should, but I'm not totally sure yet. I just pray that someone says something official soon because I don't want to end up like the poor fans who were already out there when this all happened, you know?

Canceling them all till June? That is absolutely ridciulous I do not even get the point of that, highly doubt it's true. If she would cancel them for that long she might as well drop her contract there because you know Casears is going to be really ticked off not to mention the fans.

 

I definitely won't be mad at her - if she's sick, she's sick and my main concern is her health and always will be. Unfortunately, as will be the case for so many other people should this actually be true, the disappointment of not seeing her will overshadow any other logical concerns (such as her health, contract with Caesar's, etc.).

 

The way I'm looking at it, if this is true, is that at least it's not during TC. Imagine if Vegas was the closest city to any of us and she wasn't going to re-schedule or if it was the last city on the American leg when no one would be able to follow her elsewhere. She's staying put, she'll be back and most of us (myself included) will have to find some sort of way to afford the trip back and welcome her with "open arms".

 

I say this now with tears in my eyes, but I think it's how we should all look at it if this is actually what's going to happen.

While they haven't officially cancelled anything yet, if you look on Ticketmaster all of the shows for March 3-11 say "sold out"... even though I know they are certainly not sold out. Perhaps they just don't want to disappoint any MORE fans. Unfortunately for me, I'm supposed to see the shows on March 10 & 11.

Yup I think they know ahead of time. In Vegas on Tuesday Morning when adversting for Celine they showed "Next dates: Feb 25, 26" and I said to my group "LOOK why dont they have tomorrows show!" and startedt o FREAK Out then I calmed down and reasoned maybe they only adverstise the weekend shows (this display was at the fashion show mall) but ever since then I had a sick feeling.....but as we got closer to the show with no annoucement I thought "surely to God they will not cancel now" and then boom!

 

I have a sick feeling all of March is down the toilet.

Performances June 9 through August 19 Will Proceed As Scheduled

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 28, 2012) - We regret to inform you that Celine performances through

Sunday, March 18 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been cancelled.

Following the difficulties that she experienced with her vocal chords last week, which resulted in

cancelled weekend performances, Celine decided to seek further expert medical advice from one

of the leading international authorities on laryngeal physiology, Professor Gerald Berke M.D.,

UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.

Celine flew to Los Angeles on Monday afternoon and had a thorough examination at Professor

Berke's clinic. He has diagnosed Celine with weakness in her right vocal chord, secondary to a

viral illness. Professor Berke has prescribed 6-8 weeks of voice-rest in order for Celine to

completely recover from this condition.

"I tried to sing at my sound-check last week, and I had no control of my voice whatsoever," said

Celine. “We thought that after a few days rest I would improve but it wasn't getting any

better....I guess it was worse than I thought. I'm fortunate that I was able to see Professor

Berke. He identified what was causing the problems I was having, and he assured me that with

the amount of rest he prescribed, I would be back to 100%. Obviously this is the worst thing for

a singer....not being able to do your shows. I feel worse knowing that I'm disappointing my

fans. I'm so sorry.....I hope they forgive me."

Celine’s next run of performances beginning June 9 through August 19 will proceed as

scheduled.

oh guys this is such a night mare for fans who bought tickets and airfare. im going in June, i hope she is better by then. this is so awful

Wow. Wow. Wow. I don't even know what to say. This is very disappointing.

 

I guess it's a lesson for us fans to not put our eggs in one basket. Celine's not a goddess, but a mortal. These things happen.

 

I do feel for her. She knows lots of our holidays and spring breaks are now spoiled.

Good thing I get paid tomorrow. I can at least buy one show ticket for June 9th. lol That will be the only thing to ease the pain - knowing I have another day to look forward to.

My goodness me. This is the first time Celine's ever cancelled this far in advance so time to realise that it must be pretty serious folks. It's only February and everything until June is off! Goodness me!

That's devastating, I feel SO sorry for the fans that have bought plane tickets from very far, and that booked hotels. I hope they can all get some money back, that's so sad when you save so much money and that it all come to nothing. I only went to Las Vegas once for AND but I would have been heartbroken to have saved so much and not see the show. My heart goes out to you guys.

 

And, of course, to Celine. I also feel for her. She must be in real pain, and I don't remember her cancelling shows for so long in advance. Man, until June? It sounds like a nightmare! I hope, hope, hope she gets better and some rest. I bet it can't be that easy to rest when you have 3 kids at home, but I hope she gets better.
