Nautanick Posted February 28, 2012 at 07:43 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 07:43 PM (edited) Holy schnikes...I don't remember her ever cancelling so far in advance. This must be very serious. My heart goes out to the fans who were scheduled to see her--hopefully you guys can get rescheduled at some point without cancelling tickets all together. And I hope Celine gets better soon...I know she must be very depressed and upset that she's had to cancel all these shows. Rest, girl! We want you back as soon as you are able to be. It's times like this that I kind of hope she has a nanny or at least part-time child care that we don't see and that Rene and/or Therese don't have to wrangle the kids while she rests. R-C is old enough where he can probably entertain himself and is in school, but the twins are at that "you need eyes in the back of your head" stage. Kyle_Jared Posted February 28, 2012 at 07:53 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 07:53 PM Well there goes any new albums this spring.........down the friggin toilet. I say this english album will be cancelled altoghter along with Titanic 3D Promo. Oh this year just keeps getting better. Get well Celine. Quote
No1IrishFan Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:00 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:00 PM Although the article says shows are cancelled until June, there are no shows scheduled between March 18th and June. April/May were months off anyway, so it is not as bad as the articles will make out. Feel so sorry for the fans who miss out, and of course Celine. Get well soon Celine! Quote
drove all night Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:24 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:24 PM Sony postponed also the english album!!!! OMG ... POOR CELINE!!! This seems to be REALLY REALLY SERIOUS!!!!!!! Quote
Davey84 Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:35 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:35 PM My goodness me. This is the first time Celine's ever cancelled this far in advance so time to realise that it must be pretty serious folks. It's only February and everything until June is off! Goodness me! Here's wishing her a speedy recovery. OMFD!! Yes i agree... This is really serious!! I feel so sorry for the fans who had tickets and also soooo much for Céline!! She must be so devastated! I hope most of you can change your holiday plans, and like said before, Vegas on itself is also veryyyy entertaining! Céline, I hope you will recover soon and stronger than ever! J-Man Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:35 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:35 PM I don't think there's been any announcement about cancelling the album from Sony. It's just that people are thinking is probably going to be postponed for a while now Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png

It's just that people are thinking is probably going to be postponed for a while nowYes I agree, Sony didn´t confirmed yet that album is out in may/june, so I don ´t think they confirmed postoped, but it´s for sure album won´t be out in may/june, well with this english album it´s neverending story, but Céline´s health is the msot important priority. LVCeline Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:59 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 08:59 PM Wow, this is terrible news! She's never had to cancel like this before. I wonder how her vocal cords got in such shape. I'm sure a lot of people are disappointed. The selfish fan in me can only think about the English album she's supposed to be putting out and now we're going to have to wait longer. It's like a carrot is being dangled in front of our faces and just when we think we get to eat it, they yank it away. It sucks, but it's not her fault she got sick, you can't help things like that so of course I don't hold her responsible in any way. Maybe during April or May she'll be back to normal and will be able to finish up the album Quote
Shaun Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:03 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:03 PM She seems to not have been 100% right since going to Jamaica. It might've been an idea for her to stay over in Jamaica rather than rush about all over the place, it's never good for the human body doing that. Of course we can say that with the benefit of hindsight now but still. I know I planned my two trips to Vegas to see "A New Day..." for a least a year in advance each time, I can only imagine how awful it must be to find out the show has been cancelled even though no-one is to blame. Thomas Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:17 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:17 PM Honestly, I'm not even bothered about the album. It can come out next year if it has to. And I'm not saying that to sound like one of those fans who pop up now and again and proclaim they want the best for Celine no matter what (which we all do, but sometimes it's ok to want the best for yourself too...). However for me I always thought she would be able to belt massive notes until she was 80 years old and now I've seen there's a fragility there for the first time. I know there were scares when she was young but this was long before I was a fan, and this is scarily along those lines. I'm sure she can get back to 100% as the doctor says, but this has kinda shocked me into realising that I can't take the fact she can still sing so well all these years later for granted. And I bet it was a shock for Celine as well, to have no control over her voice must have been terrifying. Quote
Davey84 Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:34 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:34 PM Very well put Thomas!!! It must be the vocal scare as like the end of the 80's/ early 90's all over again Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
smash Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:38 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:38 PM Oh my word. I hope she gets well soon. Shame, then she still says, she hopes all the fans "will forgive me". Quote
Shamrock_1982 Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:42 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:42 PM (edited) The way I look at it is, its devastating, unlucky. unfair and I feel for fans who have been cancelled on, and have just learned that their show between now and March 18th have been cancelled, because I like others have experienced it.But shes human like the rest of us, and her doctors gave her these orders... everyone gets sick and she feels terrible and has apologised to those fans, and she can't do no more at present. You only have to look at certain legends being take over recent years due to various health/mental reasons, to make you appreciate Celine, what she has done, does and will continue to do and it puts it into perspective... your health is so important and you can't take it for granted! So Celine, dont stress, take it easy and we will see/hear you when you are well and ready... celinesounds Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:49 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 09:49 PM hope she gets better soon If the English album will be the songs from Vegas + 3 new songs they already have the material Quote #FREEJAVITO
caitlynceline56 Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:03 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:03 PM (edited) And I'm not saying that to sound like one of those fans who pop up now and again and proclaim they want the best for Celine no matter what I'm one of "those fans" and I won't ever change my opinion about that. I've read about the vocal scare in the early '90s and I agree with a lot of you, this sounds similar to that. Hopefully her voice will make a full recovery by June! She takes good care of it, so I'm sure it will. I feel bad for everyone who had tickets for the shows in February/March. This is terrible news all around, for the fans and Céline. Timster Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:24 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:24 PM (edited) Wow, this is really serious - to not perform for the next 3 months! This must be the most serious vocal problem she has had since the troubled Incognito & Unison Tours. Things got pretty bad during the US leg of the TCWT, but she managed to do most of the shows despite not being 100%. At least we know she does everything she can in between (and during) shows to rest and protect her voice, otherwise this sort of thing could have happened a lot more over the years! It's such a shame, her voice since her return last year has been flawless, her technique had improved significantly. I hope she is able to return to 100% vocal capacity ASAP!!! Alex_Incognito Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:28 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:28 PM I just changed my Celine tickets for Madonna tickets in October. I'm still sad, but glad I made the change. Belle Céline Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:34 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:34 PM Well if she has so much trouble with her voice and vocal cords then it seems like to me she isn't taking precautions and caring for her voice like she should. Fortunately the airline didn't screw me too much! Here's *some* good news: Ticketmaster is honoring ticket exchanges (as of right now, at least), so I was able to switch my two for June 9th and 10th. trls Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:46 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:46 PM This is kind of like what Adele had back in november, and she had to cancel the rest of her shows. I hope that Celine won't need to do surgery. Quote
Tyler1991 Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:49 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:49 PM Sad news. Hope Celine makes a full recovery soon. I feel so bad for some of the fans, especially those who traveled far as someone as mentioned before. I can understand the frustration - a whole year of preparation in advance for it, so much money involved (especially for those of you who are out of the US)...it's a LOT, and then to get there and not see Celine has just got to be heartbreaking... But please, it's just a shitty situation. Ya'll know that I'm the first one to complain about damn near anything, but I wouldn't say it was unprofessional at all. Celine obviously had every intention of performing the show that night (hence why she didn't cancel in the first place, because she got better). Cancelling a show is the last thing she wants to do, because she knows the kind of reaction she will receive....but obviously a drastic turn before in which her illness returned, prevented her from performing. It's not her fault, so don't blame her. What was she supposed to do? Cancel earlier? Eh, maybe. That's obviously what they've chosen to do for the March shows (because obviously trying and then getting sick an hour before caused an uproar)... either way, it's just a bad all around situation. smw Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:50 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 10:50 PM I wish Celine a full recovery. And I hope she doesn't get too stressed-- that will just prolong her sickness. As far as the new album(s) are concerned, I think we can all put on our big boy pants and wait until she is able to put out a solid album with great promotion. Quote

ewan123 Posted February 28, 2012 at 11:17 PM Posted February 28, 2012 at 11:17 PM I too wish Celine a full and permanent recovery! And I send all my good energy to her and to all the fans that arranged trips to see her! All the good luck with re-booking and cancelling things guys!!! It is profound that it is a serious situation, unlike what we are used to, as for example the US leg of TCWT, when she cancelled couple of dates or so, each time (but there was lot of playback too, unlike Vegas set)... BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, April and May were months OFF so it is not as extremely nightmarish as it sounds.. It's 10 dates, judging only the numbers. So please, let us all stay calm, and not project that she will cancel the album, titanic promotion, etc. etc. We had no confirmation that anything like that would happen - i mean to which extent at last - so, we won't know too what alterations this BAD situation will cause. SO, stay calm and wish our very loved one ALL THE GOOD! Quote

I mean, honestly, I'd love a new album as much as the next person, but I think so much of why she's so sick is because she's been working too hard, running around from Jamaica to Fl to Vegas, worrying about the album, etc. What she really needs to do is relax. This isn't just a week and, no, it's not as many shows as it seems, but this is a big deal and Celine owes it to herself to take care of her voice so she's in tip top shape in June. Quote
