Whitney Houston & Celine Dion

omg what a tragic end!! :ohno-smiley: You know, when they said she was found in the tub I knew the cause would be something like this, but never suicide attempt... but drowned!?! :cry1: :cry1:

Is it really true that she drowned? Maybe it just me, but I'm having trouble getting my head around this. While I'm not a big fan of Whitney, I still respect her works.

Whitney's daughter has now been rushed to the hospital!

http://www.eonline.com/news/whitney_housto...daughter/293657

I don't even know what to say except just please don't fall into something that's not healthy.

As for some other comments in here, too much of ANYTHING is bad for you. Not just substances and alcohol. Too much of anything can kill you.

Celine was probably crying her eyes out when she found out. :(

It is true that she was found in her bath tub and drowned but they're still looking into what actually caused it.

There are rumors on twitter that Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Patti Labelle, AND CELINE!!!!! are expected for Whitney Houston Grammy Tribute!

Really puts into perspective what an amazing artist we all come to adore and admire on this forum...a woman who has never been involved in any type of scandal, is so gracious and humble to every person she meets, and has NEVER tried to make a reputation of herself no matter how famous she is... and yet she still has this larger-than-life talent.

When I heard Whitney died, all I could remember was when Celine received the highest honor from the World Music Awards, she stopped in the middle of her own press conference to literally put the volume up on a television set herself so she could watch Whitney perform.

Might make all the haters here and elsewhere think twice before criticizing or comparing or pitting the divas against one another over who has the better voice or yada yada yada. Just like Celine once said, "There is a place for all of us."

Sad for Whitney fans, but it should make us appreciate Celine all the more. We complain and pick apart all she does when we should really just be thankful she's never been a victim of Hollywood life.

what is it with this so-called-live stream? It goes from stage to interviews the whole time.. is this really a life stream?

Yes i agree, Celine has a solid family foundation. Bobby Brown pulled Whitney from that foundation and she's never been the same. she's an adult and makes her own decisions but for some reason she chose Bobby until she filed for divorce and had had enough. I think he was not good for her no matter what. im a huge Whitney fan & have followed her carrer as we do Celine here. I've always felt a remorse for her voice, that pure, true God given talent. My heart is broken once again. :(

Even if I didn't really know Whitney that much (I will always love you always makes me cry), I still respect her and I find what happened really sad. I am always scared that it is going to be Celine's turn one day...

Merci Céline pour ces deux soirées inoubliables que j'ai passées à tes côtés. Je ne les oublierais jamais.

J't'adore Céline.

Merci.

It's a shame Celine & Whitney were not more close.

Celine is my idol

As much as members of the forum complain about him , we need to give Rene a lot of credit here. He has guided Celine in a healthy way. From a young age he taught her not to be a diva and make the right personal and professional choices. Celine knows how to cope with stresses without alcohol and drugs. I'm just so sorry Whitney didn't have a "Rene" in her life. :(

I thought Jennifer Hudson's performance was very moving. I could tell that she was emotional throughout the song and that she truly admired Whitney. The show was a mix of emotions, both sad and happy. I thought the Grammy's did a wonderful job paying tribute to Whitney. It was a moment in History that people will always remember.

R.I.P. Whitney. May your wonderful talent live on in heaven, as you truly are an angel with a voice from God!

Celine sings "Greastest of Love" cover version of Whitney Houston.
Posted

This was my facebook status very early this morning....

"I am still in such disbelief. I never thought that I would be as impacted as I am by the death of a celebrity. And here I am at 4:19am sobbing because one of the women who molded me as a singer is now dead. I don't even know what to think right now. I am just so upset by this. It may be odd to some of you, but Whitney was one of my idols."

She truly was one of the artists that made me want to be the type of singer I am and continue to grow into. I love you Whitney, and will always be thankful and appreciative of your talent. Rest In Peace.

I totally agree!! I am happy Céline leads the grounded life and normally as possible! It's a big shame no one in Whitney's circle never really stood up and made her get her act back together

I thought so too... She did a great job. Even thou she has sang this song before, it must have been really hard for her to sing it yesterday. Also, LL Cool J's prayer moved me to tears, along with Alicia Keys words. :(

I still can't believe this is true :crybaby: I didn't think it was gonna touch me this deep.

I know. Me too. It's a horrible loss, but at least Whitney will always live on through her wonderful music and she left behind a great selection of songs for her fans to listen to and remember all her accomplishments and the wonderful person that was Miss Whitney Houston!

I must say Jennifer did a wonderful job here. Not oversinging and a respectful tribute. You could see she really had a hard time singing the song because you could see the tears in her eyes. But were there not more singers that did give a videomessage? Was the prayer and Jennifer's rendition of I will always love you the only thing shown for Whitney?

by the way, I was just on Mariah's official site and she had a message regarding Whitney on her site. But when I come on celine's site, no word about it. I know that has nothing to do with Celine at all, but with the people that handle her website. I wish they did something like a final word from Celine about Whitney or just a statement on the site. Agree. I've seen that almost every TV news and papers online have echoed the messages typed from celebrities in their Twitter's or official websites, such as those of Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Mariah, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Ricky Martin etc... but no word of Céline  We know she's not in the technologies, but that's no excuse for not updating her website or official facebook with a message when something like this happens -_-

Most probably has been posted but read this on twitter posted by the red heads:

MONTRÉAL, feb. 12th, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ – « I am deeply moved by this very sad news. Whitney was an amazing and unique artist. When I started singing in english, she was a role model for me. I admired the singer; I loved the very charming and warm person that I had the opportunity to meet a few times. Today all my thoughts go to her daugther and family. «

This is 100% true, as soon as she gave statement it should be published on her official website and official facebook.

Jennifer did a good job, a nice tribute for now.

I really feel for Whitneys daughter and family and very much so for her fans Whitney was one of the best singers ever and when you have lived with that voice through your life singing songs you can relate to and identify with, you walk thru your life and you carry them with you so it is a personal loss to each fan, i like that Mariah mentioned the fans in her tribute it shows great respect to acknowledge them.

dont you know that love doesn't think twice

it can come all at once or whisper from a distance
