Celinenvegas Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:33 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:33 PM I'm so distraught. Whitney was one of my favorite singers along with Celine, Laura Branigan, & Cyndi Lauper. Now Whitney & Laura are gone - all with incredible, emotional voices. I've been a fan of Whitney's from the beginning of her career, actually I heard about her even before a single was released as I live in NJ as Whitney did. She was also a great actress especially in Waiting To Exhale. I can't imagine the grief her mom and daughter are feeling now, my heart is broken for them. Also, Headline News just reported that Celine is to perform tonight at the Grammys. They also reported that TMZ said it was only Zanex and some prescription mediation in the hotel room - no booze. Nothing has been confirmed so lets not assume anything just yet. Tonights Grammy show will definitely be somber. R.I.P My Dear Whitney. Quote ~J O E Y~

CelineAndRene Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:58 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:58 PM I'm still bawling my eyes out. I've never cried over a celebrity before. I think you're right, Tyler, even though some people favored Mariah and Celine more, we're all kind of the same audience. 1/3 DIVAS is gone. So sad... Quote "...It's the circle of life. Shaun Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:00 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:00 PM I would imagine before or after Jennifer's performance tonight there will be a video montage of other celebrity tributes and Celine will be involved in this. browseceline Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:03 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:03 PM (edited) though it would have been better that not Jennifer Hudson but one of the big three, Celine and or Mariah would have done it, not Jennifer Hudson. Why is it always Jennifer Hudson lately for paying tributes? Not saying she is bad or whatever, but I think it would be much much better if one of the biggest voices of the world will be honored by a singer like Celine, or Mariah ( or even Charice). There are lots of singers that started their career because they wanted to sing like her. But only Mariah and Celine are the ones I expect to pay a tribute to Whitney. Not lady gaga or christina aguilera or britney spears etc.. Celine Fan 77 Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:20 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:20 PM I think because Hudson and Whitney were very close friends. Jennifer sang IWALY in 2010 and Whitney was watching first row in the audience. Should watch the video. CelineAndRene Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:27 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:27 PM I completely agree. I find it somewhat insulting that Hudson is doing this tribute. It is what it is. I just hope this is handled respectfully. Michael Jackson's death was completely overexposed. Quote "...It's the circle of life. You gotta look forward. browseceline Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:29 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:29 PM (edited) okay.. I do understand then.. but still hope Celine will sing too.. I don't know if you ever listened to Glennis Grace ( Dutch singer). She started her career because of Whitney. She won the dutch soundmixshowby doing Whitney Houston From then on her career started and now at this moment she is quite famous. She is devastated too and she will soon pay tribute to her as well. PuraVida Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:46 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 08:46 PM I have no doubt Celine will pay ample tribute in some form...words at her show, maybe a tribute song, tribute performance on TV, etc... to Whitney before this is all said and done. I know Celine is deeply saddened over this. Gah, poor Celine. Poor Whitney. Poor daughter and mother, family, and world. A tragedy indeed. Quote

GoldenLeaf Posted February 12, 2012 at 09:01 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 09:01 PM (edited) I wasn't a fan at all of Whitney Houston, her music and her voice never appealed to me and I despised her arrogant/divaish personality but she was still a human being, a mother and a daughter. She didn't deserve to die so early. It's just so unfair. All my prayers go to her family especially to her daughter Bobbi Kristina and her mom Cissy Houston. browseceline Posted February 12, 2012 at 09:13 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 09:13 PM Ken Ehrlich , Celine's producer (!) has asked Jennifer to do the tribute. It is not gonna a full blown one, but a respectful one, because it is too fresh now to do that. Celinenvegas Posted February 12, 2012 at 09:24 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 09:24 PM I find it totally fitting that Jennifer Hudson do this tribute, especially since it'll be subdued since it just happened. Jennifer idolized Whitney. She said this when she was on American Idol and she said her greatest moment was when she won her Grammy and Whitney was the one who gave it to her. I remember that and it was truly a special moment. Quote ~J O E Y~

No1IrishFan Posted February 12, 2012 at 10:35 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 10:35 PM I saw Whitney in concert in April 2010 in Dublin. An unforgettable night, she sounded amazing to me. I had good seats, and several times she came over in my direction, and I dont care what anyone says, Whitney was having fun. I could tell she was trying so hard to put on a good show, she really did care. I am so pleased now that I got the chance to see her, as it would have been a massive regret giving her passing. RIP Whitney Quote

LVCeline Posted February 12, 2012 at 10:59 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 10:59 PM When I saw the news on Yahoo.com yesterday my heart almost stopped. I am still in shock and disbelief. Before Celine came along for me, Whitney was my original diva. I Will Always Love You has always been my favorite song of all time and The Bodyguard one of my favorite movies. I just watched it a couple weeks ago and it always brings back memories. I visit her fan forum everday for the latest Whitney news and it still just doesn't register that she's gone. For sure one of the greatest voices (arguably the best in my opinion) ever to grace the earth. I hope she's finally found the peace and happiness she struggled so much for here on earth. Quote

She showed the autographs she got from Whitney that day and told it was the best moment of her life yet. She looked so shocked, like many fans Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
