PEOPLE Magazine put out a special tribute to Whitney Houston, it'll be on stands until May 25th. In the very back, there's a section called FRIENDS REMEMBER and Celine is quoted "When I started my English career, I watned to be like her. I loved her so much."

Anyone knows if Whitney and Celine ever met at an award show or other function, has a pic ever surfaced? They both performed at the BAMBI Awards in Berlin in 1999, that would be a possibility and they often have been to the same music award shows (Grammy's, AMAs, etc.)

They were at the World Music Awards together, they must've met there but I don't recall seeing a picture of them together.

I know they were both at the WMA in 2004, and im sure i remember that Whitney performed at Divas las vegas in 2002, but they cut her like a few of the others out the DVD.

Doesn't Celine mention in her autobiography that Whitney was recording at the same studios as her whilst she was recording Falling into You. She was jokingly threatened that if she didn't hit the big note in All By Myself, they'd get Whitney to do it instead. I'm guessing they would have met then!

This is true. While recording All By Myself, Whitney was in the building next door recording. Celine was worried and tentative that she would be unable to hit the high note. So David Foster informed her that Whitney was next Door and that she could easily hit it (He didn't say Whitney would record it if Celine failed to hit the note).

He knew what he was doing! Celine got angry, marched into the recording booth and we have that high note. David then informed her "I knew that would get you mad!" lol

Ha Ha. I guess to me the joking about Whitney singing it was implied. I haven't read that book for ages, it does seem very out of date now. RC wasn't even born! I just got it down off my shelf. There's something about it that when you pick it up you just have to read it! It reminds me of being 15 and Celine deprived during her 2000 - 2002 break.

lol, me too! When i thought she was gone from music for good! I do think that her two year hiatus killed her chartting power here in the likes of Ireland. (I mean singles wise). None of her singles since That's The Way It Is have entered comfortably in the Irish charts. But that's to do with the way music has gone, I suppose. Her Irish TC Concert sold out in seconds in 2008 :)

Official cause of death revealed!

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Whitney Houston died from an accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub, but the "effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use" were contributing factors in her death, the Los Angeles County Coroner said in an initial autopsy report released Thursday.

Houston, 48, was "found submerged in bathtub filled with water" and "no trauma or foul play is suspected," the coroner said.

The toxicology tests found other drugs in her body, including marijuana, the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, the muscle relaxant Flexeril and the allergy medicine Benadryl, the report said. But these drugs "did not contribute to the death," it said.

The one-page report released Thursday did not disclose the levels of each drug, but that information will be included in the final coroner report to be made public within two weeks, the coroner said.

Houston's family, which had been informed of the findings before Thursday's release, issued a statement through a family spokeswoman.

"We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure," said Patricia Houston, the singer's sister-in-law and former manager.

Houston died February 11 in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, the day before the music industry gathered for the annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

Authorities had said that police and fire officials were called to Houston's room at the Beverly Hilton after her unconscious body was found in the bathtub, just hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammy party at the hotel.

Houston won six Grammys and sold 170 million albums, singles and videos over her career.

In recent years, the singer's accomplishments were overtaken by her struggles with drug addiction.

Never saw this before. This is perhaps the longest amount of time Celine talks about Whitney in one sitting.

Ugh. Why couldn’t they just subtitle it in their native language instead of dubbing?! I can barely hear what Celine is saying!

Yeah I always hate it when interviews get dubbed. Even if I spoke the language, I’d much prefer hearing what the interviewee said exactly the way they said it.

The best is yet to come...

I totally agree. I had to pause and rewind many times. I find that TV programs have done this way, way too much with Celine, it bugs the s**t outta me :innocent:

Like, she'll be singing ABM, for example, and the TV program won't start speaking until the MOMENT she's about to hit the high note. So many instances of them speaking over her singing and also not subtitling.
