bfhb Posted February 12, 2012 at 02:00 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 02:00 PM Its a sad sad day, i cant believe she has passed away so young with still so much left to live for. Have been a fan since "saving all my love for you" you knew when you heard that voice a diva had arrived, and she more than lived up to any expectations of her. My sympathies to her family friends and fans, she touched a lot of hearts with her beautiful voice and her loss is huge to us all. R.I.P. Dion1st Posted February 12, 2012 at 03:14 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 03:14 PM There was a video clip on tv this morning of Katy Couric interviewing Whitney Houston in 1996. This is a quote which I found so sadly ironic since it certainly applies to so many of the incessantly demanding Celine fans on this board: KC: You received a lot of praise during the early years. And you also took some hits...either you were too sweet or too sultry, too white/too black, too demure/too demanding, too this/too that,....How do you deal with that? WH: My mother told me, she said, "Nobody has the right to put any expectations over your head. If you get into it, (people's expectations) , then you will hurt yourself mostly. And that hurts worse. She said, "Above all, to thine own self be true. You deal with it like that and you give them the best you can, and, Whitney, you call it a day." Toni Quote “The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they don't know my story...” ― Maya Angelou ..."There's no such thing about getting old. Eventually, at one point, we get very EXPENSIVE, and we can call ourself, VINTAGE" ......Celine Dion "CERTIFIED FREAKING PROUD CELINE FAN"

No1IrishFan Posted February 12, 2012 at 03:17 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 03:17 PM Whitney was my second favourite singer after Celine, and I am truly devastated by the news. One thing that has hit me, is how much I appreciate Celine's lifestyle. She remained grounded, and I really am grateful for that now. I will never moan/complain about her career choices, because at least we know she is happy with her family and is well. RIP Whitney Houston, heaven has gained a new star. Quote

browseceline Posted February 12, 2012 at 03:46 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 03:46 PM (edited) I was in the car today and the news was on.. and they told Whitney died. I could not believe it. It was so shocking to hear... I have to say though that it does not come unexpected. Whitney was so much in trouble lately, with all the drugs and alcohol, and the comeback in musicbusiness that failed. Last week I was watching a wonderful duet between Whitney and Mariah, doing when you believe at Oprah. That is how I want to remember Whitney, just like the beautiful legacy of songs she left us.The first one of the TOP3 from the 90s...not living anymore.. such a loss! She will always be remembered for the powervoice and the amazing ballads. Whitney and Mariah - When You Believe at Oprah I hope Celine can do a tribute for Whitney sometime. Think she sure well , maybe next year in her Vegas show.Because these are really the songs she loves to sing to and Whitney has been one of her greatest inspirations to become a singer. Why was Jennifer Hudson chosen by the way? Hope Celine will say a word on tv or give a videomessage.. Rest in peace Whitney Edited February 12, 2012 at 03:56 PM by browseceline Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It would be tragic if this were her I am only 26 years old but have grown up knowing whitneys music and it feels like a part of my youth has died. First michael jackson and now this. Daniel Hamilton Posted February 12, 2012 at 04:58 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 04:58 PM I'm not really a fan of Whitney but it was a great shock to hear about her death still.Celine is a true fan of Whitney and its painful for Whitney's Family, Friends and Fans that they have lost her. But now Whitney is in Heaven singing to God, To her relatives, fans and Friends in Heaven.Shes In Heaven, Shes In Gods Hands, Shes Free and she is now away from the terrible drugs, pain etc. All i can say is now Rest In Peace Whitney you are free from pain and You are with your loved ones singing to the world Can I also say this people Drugs are Dangerous and if you keep on using them your going to brake your family's heart and your life will become shorter people theses days people use them to improve their image but it doesn't it actually does so much damage to Your Body, Organs, Your Life. Tyler1991 Posted February 12, 2012 at 05:46 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 05:46 PM This is absolutely horrible. While I wasn't a huge fan of Whitney, it's almost impossible not to be even a mild fan of her (given that I'm a huge fan of Celine and Mariah). Her music touched the hearts of millions of people and those hearts will now feel a bit broken at the loss of this legend... I feel most for her daughter Bobbi Kristina, and of course her mother Cissy, and the rest of the family. And please people, let's respect those who can't defend themselves and give this women the benefit of the doubt until we hear more. Yes, she had a HUGE public struggle with drugs and alcohol, but she also did a lot recently to recover from that, and looked great in recent years... and at this moment we don't know anything as police have only said "no obvious sign of criminal intent". Sources tell TMZ.com that the singer was found by her Hairdresser with her head underneath the waterThe stylist, hairdresser and some of Whitney's bodyguards were in her hotelroom at the moment she died.Because they were worried why Whitney was staying in the bathroom for more than one hour and did not respondon the knocking on her door, the hairdresser went into the bathroom to make sure Whitney was allright, but found her with her face underneath the water. Bodyguards took her out of the tub immediately and started reanimation,The sources tell that her body was already cold at that moment. Her family told that Whitney used Xanax on a regular basis. When used with alcohol alltogether it can cause a drugged feeling.Autopsy still has to be done to find the exact cause of her death. Shaun Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:31 PM Posted February 12, 2012 at 07:31 PM Such a sad day for the world of music and her family in particular. My thoughts are with them. Whilst her problems in recent years are well known Whitney will be remembered for her utterly amazing voice during the first part of career, it was one of the most powerful voices the world has ever heard.
