Its a sad sad day, i cant believe she has passed away so young with still so much left to live for. Have been a fan since "saving all my love for you" you knew when you heard that voice a diva had arrived, and she more than lived up to any expectations of her. My sympathies to her family friends and fans, she touched a lot of hearts with her beautiful voice and her loss is huge to us all. R.I.P.

There was a video clip on tv this morning of Katy Couric interviewing Whitney Houston in 1996. This is a quote which I found so sadly ironic since it certainly applies to so many of the incessantly demanding Celine fans on this board:

Whitney was my second favourite singer after Celine, and I am truly devastated by the news. One thing that has hit me, is how much I appreciate Celine's lifestyle. She remained grounded, and I really am grateful for that now. I will never moan/complain about her career choices, because at least we know she is happy with her family and is well. I was in the car today and the news was on.. and they told Whitney died. I could not believe it. It was so shocking to hear...

I have to say though that it does not come unexpected. Whitney was so much in trouble lately, with all the drugs and alcohol,

and the comeback in musicbusiness that failed.

Last week I was watching a wonderful duet between Whitney and Mariah, doing when you believe at Oprah.

That is how I want to remember Whitney, just like the beautiful legacy of songs she left us.

The first one of the TOP3 from the 90s...not living anymore.. such a loss! She will always be remembered for the

powervoice and the amazing ballads.

I hope Celine can do a tribute for Whitney sometime. Think she sure well , maybe next year in her Vegas show.

i was in shock last night hearing this news and it didnt really register until reading through some of the other comments here and seeing some videos that we have truly lost a legend.

 

i for one will never complain about celine's career again and will just be greatful that the woman we all look up to and love (celine) is still in good health and performing. It would be tragic if this were her

 

I am only 26 years old but have grown up knowing whitneys music and it feels like a part of my youth has died. First michael jackson and now this. RIP Whitney and may you always be remembered for your talent you shared with the world.

This is absolutely horrible. While I wasn't a huge fan of Whitney, it's almost impossible not to be even a mild fan of her (given that I'm a huge fan of Celine and Mariah). Her music touched the hearts of millions of people and those hearts will now feel a bit broken at the loss of this legend... I feel most for her daughter Bobbi Kristina, and of course her mother Cissy, and the rest of the family.

 

And please people, let's respect those who can't defend themselves and give this women the benefit of the doubt until we hear more. Yes, she had a HUGE public struggle with drugs and alcohol, but she also did a lot recently to recover from that, and looked great in recent years... and at this moment we don't know anything as police have only said "no obvious sign of criminal intent".

The stylist, hairdresser and some of Whitney's bodyguards were in her hotelroom at the moment she died.

Because they were worried why Whitney was staying in the bathroom for more than one hour and did not respond

on the knocking on her door, the hairdresser went into the bathroom to make sure Whitney was allright,

but found her with her face underneath the water. Bodyguards took her out of the tub immediately and started reanimation,

The sources tell that her body was already cold at that moment.

 

Her family told that Whitney used Xanax on a regular basis. When used with alcohol alltogether it can cause a drugged feeling.

Autopsy still has to be done to find the exact cause of her death.

Such a sad day for the world of music and her family in particular. My thoughts are with them.

 

Whilst her problems in recent years are well known Whitney will be remembered for her utterly amazing voice during the first part of career, it was one of the most powerful voices the world has ever heard.

 

She will be sadly missed.
