Changes to the show?

I cannot believe how some people count the verses, words, choruses...who cares? When You are at the show, do You really count the words? Seriously? It's all about the great experience.

I've never offered my opinion on this because it's so controversial, but playback doesn't bother me. I am not for it, I am not against it, I just don't care. For me, it's about the experience as a whole, like you said.

Edit - sorry I didn't see my first post actually submitted, it said a page error so I re-typed this instead. This would be perfect! It's fewer songs, but they're all the full versions!

 

1. Love Can Move Mountains - long intro that she did wayyyyy back in the day. Imagine her rising up on a platform with the background singers singing "faith, trust" and Celine rising above singing "looove, love can, love can mooooove, mountaiiiins"

 

2. Where Does My Heart Beat Now - I like this segment of going back to the beginning. I'd just add in the second verse and second chorus. If she wants to lip it, let her. But at least sing the verses live, a few seconds of the bridge before the high note, and part of the ending like she does.

 

3. Because You Loved Me - We're going to actually have her perform the FULL song. Imagine this, Celine singing her second biggest hit in full. It almost sounds ridiculous that this would be shocking.

 

4. It's All Coming Back To Me Now - I know this would never happen, but it would be amazing to hear her do the full song. At the bare minimum, it should be performed in the Memphis version with a proper ending. If she wants to lip parts, sure, but not the full song. A great deal of this is fairly easy, though there are a few tough parts.

 

5. The Power Of Love - full song, including the FULL second verse, and hell, even an ending like the President's Gala. She should sing the verses live, and even the first chorus since it isn't high at all, she can lip the second chorus to the end of the song, but sing the first few seconds of the bridge live before she starts the belts.

 

6. A New Day Has Come - Uptempo

 

7. That's The Way It Is - Original Key, playback for ending acceptable

 

8. Have You Ever Been In Love - What a beautiful song, I'd love to hear this again. Full version.

 

9. Falling Into You - This is such an underrated song! I wish Celine didn't have such a dislike to performing it.

 

10. Ce n'etait qu'un reve - full, not the crappy 10 second arrangement where she sings the title one time that they have been using for the last 20 years

 

11. S'il Suffisait D'aimer

 

12. Beauty And The Beast (Peabo Virtual Duet, Sorry Barnev) - Full Song

 

13. Then You Look At Me - do a speech about many great unperformed songs

 

14. All By Myself - full song, just do the damn high note live, it's 10 seconds and she is already basically doing it at the ending considering its the same note.

 

15. Dance Medley: Misled/Reveal/Unison

 

16. My Heart Will Go On - personally I feel this should be live, but at the minimum, she can lip the ending.

 

17. Call The Man - long ending with Celine humming and disappearing as smoke fills the stage

 

Tyler we are taking you to Vegas and you are running the show from now on. This would be the show everyone would freakin love. There is one thing, there's no way in heck Call The Man could be the very last song, it has to be My Heart just because of the effects they now use, I love it mainly because of the waterfall. Also add I'm Alive (tour version) and (I drove all night) yeah it's lipped but still it gets everybody up and moving. I am glad I'm not the only one who wants BYLM in it's full version and IACBTMN should be the five minute version not this half a** version.

Lol, thanks!!! But sorry, the LAST changes I will be making will be adding in those two songs. Like my post shows, I'm willing to compromise with a little playback, but IDAN is such a crappy playback song. It would be like her lipping LCMM. That song is just so much better and the energy is amazing live...the today show 2003 performance is AMAZING. But to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the song so really I wouldn't wanna add it anyway. And I'm Alive, ehhh... I don't know. I like the other uptempos I selected better. I'm also not a huge fan of that song. If I had to choose between the two it would be IDAN, and only if LIVE and that would just win because it'd be rare. I'm tired of I'm Alive.

 

I honestly think of all of these the Reveal/Unison/Misled mix would be the most exciting!!

 

The song could go:

First Verse of Unison > Chorus of Reveal > Bridge to Final Chorus of Misled (or maybe just the bridge?) > Final Chorus of Unison

I just heard from a contact, that there is a slight chance that ''Alone'' maybe added to the setlist of the show later this year!

Imagine this song with the orchestra... the violins, the big drum etc, lets hope it happens

I wonder if the opening video will still be used in the summer shows.. Considering the tour was 3 years ago and the footage is old and the show has now been open for well over a year.. Maybe they need to update it a bit.. Also would be nice to see lullaby get replaced with alone or a Celine hit like andhc or taking chances or that's the way it is. I'm sure though nothing will change an their excuse will be that they have only done a small amount of shows and see no reasOn to change it. Guess we will see next month

We'll probably get more costume changes before song changes. I am hopeful something musically has changed starting with the June - August run. Not asking for the world but replacing one song would be nice. I haven't been since Jan 3rd and planning on going to Aug shows.

I wish they would remove some of the less interesting song choices and turn the Michael Jackson tribute into a "Whitney/Michael tribute." I can hear Celine now: "Over de past few years, we've lost some of de greatest talents of our generation. Tonight, I'm gonna do my very best to honor dem with some of der amazing songs." Adding a Whitney Houston song to the Michael Jackson tribute would be great idea!

 

Drop "Ben" and Sing "Man in the Mirror" by Michael and "Saving all my love for you" by Whitney.

 

Immortality would be a nice virtual duet at some point too.

Well I still think she should stick on HER own material and not add more songs from other singers.

 

IMO the MJ Tribute segment should be totally replaced by 2 of her own songs like Immortality and Tell Him or even That's The It Is .

I agree. I'm sure Celine is well aware of the fact that Whitney would not have honored her. But Whitney paved the way for Mariah and Celine. Whitney's first three albums were the standard by which Celine and Mariah's albums were crafted through the early to mid 90s.

 

Without Whitney Houston, there never would have been Celine Dion's English career. At least, nowhere near the heights to which it reached.

Why couldn't they introduce Immortality as a moment in the show for a tribute?? Celine sings the song, then use the back screen to show footage etc of MJ, Whitney, The Bee Gees etc etc. Think it would work just as well.

 

Think they could definitely cut the MJ songs, keep the bond medley as i think it gives a moment for the orchestra to shine!!

 

Also cut Lullaby, could easily use one of her own songs for her "family" moment.

 

They should also think about cutting How Do You Keep .... celine duet too. People know the trick now. Each year they could introduce another WOW moment. And use one of her own songs too for it.

No fecking way should she get rid of the duet with herself... I am dying to see it in person and it's a beautiful song to... It's the main thing that would make me want to save and fly to Vegas to see!!

 

I think they should scrap the prayer and bring back the stevie duet.

 

It would be stupid and cheap though to keep changing the show because certain singers she's worked with or was inspired by dies!!
