Apparently, the cellos playing MJ are an intro for LCMM. We still don't know about Overjoyed/The Prayer...

I wish that all of the new changes (songs and new dresses) had started last night. If I'm correct, Celine is only doing 36 shows during the summer, and we don't know when she'll start her next run of shows yet. It seems odd to showcase the upcoming songs and costumes in July when she might be half way thru the summer shows by then.

I think it's a good think ASFY is added; it's an original Céline song! And apparently she still loves it so much, otherwise she wouldn't add it. I just listened to the performance in Sweden, I think the live version is better than the album version... and if they would make it into a more orchestra piece IMO it could be even more amazing! For me it could replace ABM. I've had enough of that song now

 

And Alone.... I always loved the live version, so it could be a great addition aswell... Maybe it'll replace TR, but I hope not! And Claudette?! You don't like The Reason!??! That's an EPIC Céline song for me... ROCK with SOARING notes... just amazing!! It didn't get the attention it did, back in the day.... so I am happy it's in the show again now!

I do like ''The Reason'', just not in the show, and for an obvious reason (I think somebody deleted that part of my post yesterday ). I just don't care about it that much as it is kind of pointless listening to it, and I usually skip it when I listen to a bootleg. I would much rather they replace it with ''Alone'' then, and I'm sure Tyler will agree with me. But I understand where you guys are coming from. It is epic, and at least it is one of her own songs. I think adding Alone and A Song For You to the show is quite a great idea; both recent tracks of Celine's own catalogue and both have great potential for their respective orchestral adaptations.

 

In mi opinion, Mr. Paganini has many chances not to go on in the show 'cause it's not gonna be in the album and doesn't take a huge production. They could change the melody played by Jean-Seb in the violin solo and turn it into an amazing intro for A Song For You. I hope they don't remove the James Bond Medley nor All By Myself. I'm afraid that The Reason is going to be cut...

Please no! I hope she keeps All By Myself in the show, I'm dying to see that live when I'll go! It's probably one of the most intense parts of the concert.

I'd like to keep Paganini in the show. Certainly it is far better than Lullaby. Having Lullaby/A Song For You/Nobody Does It Better/At Seventeen is way to many slow boring songs. At least ASFY has a tiny climax. My only fear with Paganini is that it will be one of those songs which loses its spark and gets weaker.

 

As for The Reason, it is one of my favorite songs of her entire career. However, if she liked it enough to revive it, it would be nice if she actually sang it. In all honesty, the song has done all it can do. It's the same recording night after night. It was nice to hear it with her current voice, and since we already have, and won't be getting a live version/new recording, I'm perfectly fine with it getting the axe (unless she wants to sing it live now). Not like it can do anything different tomorrow than what it did yesterday.

 

Though I'd rather her keep in The Reason and cut the bond medley.

 

And yes Claudette, I certainly do agree. But even if Alone is the replacement for The Reason (which I really don't think TR is the song getting cut to make room for Alone), then there will still probably be some playback. I hope if she does do Alone that she just sings the end of it live. She already sings the rest of the song live and it isn't really any more challenging at the end than what she is already doing. Plus, it would be nice to have one more live song.

 

However, with the large amount of covers in the show, I'd rather the post-2000 song be something other than Alone. I know that at this point it's pretty much already decided that it is going to be Alone, but let's not forget that Alone may be one of "her" songs, but it is also one of the most popular covers she has recorded and I'm afraid it will get lost in this show as "yet another cover" ... I'd much rather have ANDHC/HYEBIL/TC/TTWII.

 

Also, to whoever who mentioned her singing Immortality as a tribute to all the legends recently lost, I LOVE that idea. It would without a doubt be the best encore to the show!!

Yeah, well she ain't "doing" much if you know what I mean. Only a matter of time before she gets bored with that song like she already has TPOL/IACBTMN/MHWGO. I suspect that with it not being a fan favorite that by time she does do a DVD it will probably be gone.

I hope they don't cut The Reason! If it was playback right from the start of the LTAL tour, I'm sure none of us would have made a fuss, as we all know it's a very tough song. It's only because it's been recently revived that we are making comparisons with 13 years ago when it was live. We don't seem to complain much about IACBTMN switching from live to playback in 2003, and TR is even harder to sing than IACBTMN. I think it's fantastic having this song in the show, it was certainly a highlight for me when I saw it. I think it's definitely a fan favourite, it's probably the next biggest song on LTAL after MHWGO...

 

I think it would be great if they added Alone before or after The Reason, that way there are 2 rock-style songs together in the show

 

Also, I feel that Lullaby could easily be replaced with one of her own songs from the Miracle album, such as Miracle, Sleep Tight or Come To Me.

 

I would also love it if they had the balls to replace the Bond Medley with 3 never-before-performed songs, that would be AMAZING!

 

I still really want a virtual duet of Tell Him with a hologram of Barbra Streisand, that would be far more exciting than Overjoyed.

 

And like I said the other day, Immortality would be great as a single song to pay tribute to all the music legends who have passed away recently. A simple black & white slideshow with photos of these legends on the screen behind Celine as she sings it would be perfect.

 

I hate the current ending of the show, as it's been LCMM-RDMH-MHWGO for the last 6 years. RDMH has rapidly deteriorated since the European leg of the TCWT, it needs to be cut. As for LCMM, she has not sung it properly for the last decade. Celine really needs to address this problem. I think it would be great if they recorded a gospel choir doing the song, either to show on the big screen or as a hologram, this may distract the audience from the vocal car crash that is soooo not consistent with the standard of the rest of the show. It's a shame that this one song (and RDMH) pulls the whole show down vocally, the rest is perfect!

 

As for MHWGO, I can't see this easily moving anywhere else in the setlist, it's a shame Rene didn't let Celine put it as the opening number before the show started. She is obviously fed up with it, but there is very little they can do to change it, I'm sure she will continue lipping it regardless...

I find the whole MJ instrumental thing weird too.

 

I wish they would they would do instrumentals of Celine's songs for these intervals, preferably of songs that she isn't actually singing in the show. That would be a real treat!
