"Ne me quitte pas" should not be deleted at all!!!!!!!! That song is absolutely fantastic and Celine brings so much emotion to it. She sings it perfectly and beautifully!!!!

erm yeah duh! I attended the show, during the stage rehearsels when Céline wasn't there, they played the vocals already... I wish they released that studio track as a b-side on a single

No of course not. It didn't even look live.. lol, the clincher is that she sang, or should I say, "sang" both Taking chances and Immen-something on the show.

The only time I can recall where she has ever (on a TV show, not special, not concert) sang one song live and lipped another is Parkinsons show in 2002 when she sang At Last live, but lipped ANDHC. Her TV shows are always either all or nothing, in both every song being the same, and every song either being fully live or lipped, no partial first verse live, etc...

Yep, here it is.

To me it actually sounds the other way around.... it sounds more like a pre-taped track running along. We know when Céline does soundchecks she often doesn't sing full lines and puts in breaks here and there.. And then the "I'm asking him" bit is softer with her having her mic away and moving it closer to her mouth further in that line..

The proof is in the recordings. There are bootlegs from 20 some shows now... simply compare them. If you're looking for proof in the form of an official statement, or blunder, then you're not likely to find them. The only "proof" we have in that is:
- IDAN at Vienna in 2008
- Man In The Mirror at the 3/10 Rehearsal (Very interesting because when the track goe sout we can hear her singing under it)
- A statement from Mego or someone shortly before she sang "Simply The Best" on a TV show where they said they're "currently in studio recording the track" ...

Other than that, there isn't really anything that I can think of. She is pretty consistent in it all, so comparing the tracks isn't difficult.

and the above post doesn't really make sense because all we hear is her whispering a part she should be belting.. it's plain and simple that the playback went out.

She had no intention of being the lead on that part...she was fully depending on the playback, which didn't play, so all you hear is her whispering along..

I'm not like 100% doubting that it was playback, but why would it just go out, and then come FADE back in?? Like in Vienna, when the playback finally came on, everything went quiet, and there was like, a complete pause in the music to get it re-adjusted, and here, it just gets louder again. It's not like it skipped either, it just goes out and slowly comes back :shrug:

Or is the first part before the "I'm starting with the man..." live, and then the playback comes in after the first verse?

Yup. I agree! I admit Celine does lip at times... but at this particular rehearsal, i dont think shes lipping...

As what CSCfan said, its just the usual, Celine sings and decides not to sing and decides to sing again.... its rehearsals, so she doesnt have to sing entire lines in their right volume, power.... its just like shes playing along with the melody... singing full.. then whispering....

and yeah, good point on rehearsals... its rehearsals, so why lip?.

And right, the only way to settle this debate is to see a footage of the rehearsal and see if her mouth/facial expression doesnt match the sound... or if her faces suddenly looked surprised or something..

But this was a rehearsal with an audience, right?? When she's doing a soundcheck of course she doesn't need to sing every note, but when you have an audience, even if it's a dress rehearsal, I don't think you can just pick and choose when you want to sing and when you don't.

This was definitely a playback malfunction. It is very obvious that Celine wasn't singing it as if the audience were going to hear it, it was very quiet compared to when the playback actually started from the second line. The vocals for the rest of the song in this rehearsal are identical to every other bootleg we have from the show, there is no question that Celine lips everything from "I'm starting with the man in the mirror" onwards, right to the end of the song.

It is quite likely that the sound person simply forgot to turn the volume slider on the sound desk up for the playback, hence we only hear Celine singing along quietly as her mic is always on. I'm pretty sure she hears the playbacks through hear earpieces so that she can lip to them, so she may still have heard the playback as normal, but unaware the audience couldn't hear anything. I think the same thing happened with IDAN in Vienna, it was quite clear she was unaware of the situation and didn't realise everyone could hear her "live". Even if she did realise, it would still be hard for her to sing well when all she can hear is the playback in her ears! :confused:

to be honest ireally loved the show and wouldnt change anything i saw the show 6 times while i was in vegas for 2 weeks the best bit for me was when she walked through the audience think it was only because i put my hand out and she came over and grabed it and holded it while singing the full song in fact i really enjoyed the show that im going back next june to see her another 4 times amazinng show i know some people moan because there covers but at least we hear celine singing something different and i dont like james bond music but really loved celine singing the bond medley and the french song she sings is so touching ... Ne me quitte pas is a gem and she should keep it for sure. Hearing her sing it every time gives me goosebumps. it is one of those songs where she really feels what she is singing

The first song to be cut will obviously be "Mr. Paganini" ....it's the only song that either - doesn't have a speech before it, isn't a hit, or isn't involved in some theme..

Open Arms won't be going anywhere. It's the opener...

She talks before Lullaby and At Seventeen, and makes a segment out of both of these, so I doubt they'll remove them.

The whole Bond thing...can't reallly remove one without removing the whole thing, unless they add in DAF or IYAMT somehow. But I don't see that happening.

I can see TR being removed to, but it has a speech before it, so I doubt it as well...

WDMHBN ...went through a lot of trouble doing the TV screens and then the intro, so it's safe as well.

Both hologram songs are probably safe as well as they went through the trouble doing those.

Actually, I see ABM being removed before any of the covers aside from Paganini. As much as I want changes, and LOTS of them, I just don't see any happening.

I highly doubt IYAMT would ever be added into the Bond segment. It's not an actual Bond theme song! It just happens to appear on the soundtrack album of "Licence to Kill", where it was used during the credits. It's never been a "Bond song" like Goldfinger & LALD, so adding it to this meldey would make no sense.

It makes no sense, except for the fact that it's a Céline song, Bond-ish and one of her big early hits

I kinda hope that Live and Let Die gets cut for For your eyes only or Golden Eye :wub2:

I do hope that ABM goes after the new album... the visuals are stunning, but like I said before, she has more albums than FIY -_-

And Tyler, ok she has a speech before TR, but that doesn't mean it can't be cut... She had a whole speech before EJTEA and those got cut too

and what about cutting River Deep and replacing with The Best? But when watching Celine 3 Boys and a new Show you see how everything interacts, and how the instrumentals play during some of the scenes in the documentary. I can only hope they cut the song with Stevie Wonder, don't like it at all. And the duet song, I don't like the song, I do like the concept though. And the bond medley was very expensive I think, with being RC a part of it too. They won't cut it of course. Same for as seventeen and lullaby. And she is so happy with Ne Me Quitte Pas as if it is the best part of the show, that it won't be removed either.

So, indeed, cut mr Paganini, cut River Deep.. and cut Love Can Move Mountains.. I know Celine likes it, but why does that song have to be in each and every concert? Pick another fast song like That's the way?

I certainly hope they won't be cutting Mr Paganini as it one of the songs I enjoy the most when I listen to the bootleg. However ABM and RDMH can go and be replaced. Whatever happens, either it being the same or changing, looks like I'll be seeing the show this coming June

Lucky bastard!! Sooooooo jealous!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a love/hate relationship with Mr Paganini... I don't like songs that go from slow to fast to slow to fast etc... But I do love the vocal freedom Céline has in this song!

As for ABM and RDMH... I'm not so sure I want them to be removed. If she removes them, then what hard songs is she even singing then? I can't think of any. I don't want every performance to be like At Seventeen or something boring like that.

i don't mind change to the show at all!! as long as they do film it before they change it lol hahaha

and costumes if they change they better be like as same level! like the one they showed she was fitting for but didn't make it to the show one! with strips on!
