The DVD will probably be filmed towards the end of the run, when the show will be all covers, except BYLM, IACBTMN/TPOL, and MHWGO. Oh and the crappy LCMM/RDMH of course!

I would love to see this added and it'd fit perfect with the orchestra and overall style of the show.

 

Maybe all of the changes are evolving such as removing the reason and perhaps there will be other changes to come. Whitney's version of a song for you is great, would be nice to have Celine pay tribute to her idol with a song for you and perhaps add the greatest love of all.

 

It is a bummer for us hardcore fans that most of her current show is covers.. Keep in mind though that it's a Las Vegas residency show and a majority of people who are seeking entertainment while in Vegas only know her for her mega hits. Lets keep our fingers crossed for concerts outside LV with more Celine songs

I agree with Carlos. Given her audience in Las Vegas, it must make sense for them and her to be performing those classics and all those covers. I particularly don't mind whatever she chooses to sing there, and I really would love to go and see "Celine".

 

Now, if there's another world tour coming, I don't really think she'd sing the same LV repertoire. And like Carlos said, I'd also worry.

 

I agree completely - this show suits its audience, and is classy, gorgeous ,and fabulous. I never really liked The Reason in the first place, and I don't care whether she sings covers -- I love to hear Celine, with her incredible voice and stage presence - singing beautiful songs, and I think she's chosen incredible ones - both her own and others. Personally, I love the sound of Celine singing Overjoyed in the videos I've heard, and I can't wait to hear it live. (I don't care when Stevie sings it, but I *love* it when Celine sings it . . .

i guess some of you are easy to please as long as Celine Dion sings whatever she likes to sing. I am one of the fans who likes her to sing her own repertoire and not playing the coverqueen. I do agree though that the covers that are chosen fit in the classy theme but they better change the title of this show into A night With Celine Dion or Celine Dion honouring the great or anything that makes clear that Celine Dion is singing covers.

Apart from all of this I am quite interested hearing that new cover. I am sure she will sing it wonderful. And personally I don't care that The Reason has been replaced since it is always lipped and , as many of you stated, does not fit with the overall theme of this show.

Next song to be replaced, my suggestion, is overjoyed since I am not overjoyed at all when I hear that song. It is boring and there are loads of better covers to choose from - when she wants to stick to singing covers. Replace it with There You'll be from Pearl Harbor (Faith Hill)

And if she is bored of doing my heart will go on , let's change the arrangement to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X23JW4bQHic - that will be a real challenge for the orchestra as well since it is her own band that plays most of the arrangement nowadays.

Just curious.. How many of the people in this thread have actually been to Vegas and seen the show? It's different than watching YouTube videos or listening to recorded bootlegs. Like someone said in an earlier post, it is an experience and it feels like a intimate evening with Celine. I don't care if she were to sing nursery rhymes all night, it'd still be great. I've been to the show, and yes it is absoloutely fabulous. When you're there you don't care what she sings. That being said, I would love to her some more of her own repirtoire in the show.

Nooooooo.... The Reason was one of my favourite surprises in the set list because no one would normally expect it! But I'm curious to hear A Song For You as it's a lovely song. I've seen this current show more than I can count on 2 hands already, and while I don't mind what she sings - I technically would like her to sing more of own songs now.

 

Ehhhh, I shall see how this goes. I'll just have to make less trips to Vegas! Haha

I saw the show 2 weeks after it started back in April of 2011. I was very skeptical about the set list, however I absolutely loved the show from start to finish. I'm disappointed because "The Reason" was a highlight but I'm also looking forward to hearing "A Song For You." I love that the show is evolving each leg (i.e. the addition of "Rolling in the Deep" last year) and I'm sure they will add some new English songs in the coming months as well. Céline's team has done a great job thus far with the promotion of "Sans attendre" in Canada and France (much better than their lazy approach to "D'elles") so I'm hoping that they do a great job with "Water and a Flame."

I have seen the new show and all I can say is that you need to see it in person! Youtube doesn't do it justice! It is an "atmosphere","feeling" all to its own! But with that being said it would be nice to hear her material. She has stated that she needs to get an audiences attention, to grab them (don't quote me on that), maybe she feels with this current addition she will? Kind of a "sleepy" little song though....imo.

I saw the show back in June 2012 and it was amazing. You think you have an idea of what the show is like from youtube videos and pics, but it's a totally different experience when you are there in the room, seeing it live. It was the most amazing experience of my life!! Celine's show is so special.

 

Please don't judge the show from the setlist, you have to see it in person to really judge. You will eat your words when you see the show live. Simply amazing!!

 

Even the outfits look completly different live. They sparkle so much more. The silver dress is like WOW, blow you away. Seeing her outfit's live and hearing her voice so close to me is a moment i will hold very close to my heart for as long as i live.

She doesn't have to sing covers ....she is Celine dion. So id have presumed most people going to the show are execting to hear HER music.....Love Mr. Pagamini though. I hope that is never dropped......Obviously I love going to Vegas/ Celine show only to see Celine, but I wouldn't be rushing there immediately. I guess when you've seen it, you have seen it. A New Day , a new thing happened everynight. With this its pretty much the same every night, you know what I mean.......I don't know what they were thinking dropping the Reason. And I think PQTMQ (or however you spell it!!) should be in the show....

I so feel the same about "Overjoyed" but I guess its bought and payed for so I don't think it's going anywhere I also agree about "Mr. Paganini" I think she likes that one also. I love the way she can play with that song! Some people didn't have a problem with "The Reason" being cut but I do. So what if it's lipped. It added some pop to the show! To replace it with another cover, and a slow one at that, is puzzling.

Maceta. I didn't find the show boring AT ALL! It was a wonderful evening with more focus on the voice and the music and I thought that was a welcomed change from AND. I think of all shows AND is actually my least favourite. I don't care about stage set ups and dancers, I care about Céline!

 

Though I think this new addition is a bit of a curious choice. IMO it seems too simular to At Seventeen, and cutting The Reason is a shame, cos it's such a poweful and original Céline song! The only thing I don't mind is that a L....... song is being cut I do hope with the new album more new songs will be added to the show. I wouldn't regret one bit if Overjoyed and ABM would be replaced!

You can say that youtube and the bootlegs don't do justice to the show. But I have seen the high quality versions of Open Arms and other songs on youtube and video as well and first it is ooh and aah , beautiful but they are not special enough for me to hear and see them more than a couple of times , sorry. When I would spend soo much money to see Celine, I expect to hear her doing her own songs, the songs I grew up with, the songs that made me a fan of her. Not some random covers because they fit with the classy theme. I know she can make a diamond of each and every cover, but she enough diamonds in her own repertoire, and if it goes on like this,

those songs will never ever be performed live on stage.

And another thing I do care about when spending so much money to fly to Las Vegas etc - is wether she sings the songs live. I know we have discussed this many times before. But I think it is way too much money to spend when the songs are , for a great part, not live at all. Then I might as well put a cd on, way less expensive. And I know some of you have already seen her six times, well I don't have the money to go to Vegas , and even if I had the money I don't know what I would do. I just hope things change in the future and I sure hope that her new tour will be a very spectacular, not so much Vegas setlist, but more of Celine herself and hearing her repertoire.

It's funny because I'm pleased when Celine sings the songs *I* like -- some of these are her own songs, and some are covers . . .it's just a question of subjective preference. But I love Celine's versions of Man in the Mirror, Lullabye, Open Arms, HDYKTMP, and yes, even Overjoyed . .and I'd much rather hear them than say, The Reason or pretty much anything from her Taking Chances album.
