wow some of you are really good businessmen...

if they were to follow your setlists then maybe her shows would be sold out for 10 nights a year and the rest would be empty because how many times could the 25,000 fans on this board go after all??? the setlist is aimed at the broad audience who comes specifically for her big hits and not for some songs - no matter how great they are - that they never heard.

 

Everyone is suddenly turning into a pro on everything in the music industry when none of you have worked in it. And even though you think your advice is the best, well guess what? their vision - no matter how limited you might think it is - is working far better than you could imagine.

 

How could some of you judge something before they even see it???? When you see the whole concert, then come here and b**** about it all the time if u didnt like it. Till then let us please be able to read the info we come here to read instead of having to go through 10 pages of blablabla that is repeated every single time a song, album, dvd or show is about to come out. Don't you guys get bored of repeating yourselves???

I agree Tyler but,

 

well in that whole list I only dropped 4 covers and the others were LCMM and RDMH with other Celine songs that would better.

I think even with my set-list most non fans would be happy with it because everyone knows and loves "open arms", they would like the bond songs, and the mj medley and there you go.

Oh i know that for sure, because they have been trying to sell this show saying it will be better than AND in terms of creativity and thats a big deal... Vegas is not a place you can lie about that because the critiques will slam it saying things like its corny, and wheres the 3d stunning state of the art technology they were talking about?... I know that the show will be great but i think the set-list isnt great and could be better. But in person i know i will love the show even if i almost fall alseep during the lullaby, and really Celine could you blame the people if they did when your singing a song called LULLABY?

i think it's crazy for them to replace any of the songs at this point.. Obviously we have a tourist friendly show.. that's vegas for ya.. Do you guys really think that they are going to pack that place 70 nights a year for 30 years with just celine fans? umm no.. its vegas.. yeah there will be fans there but nothing like will be there for the first few shows.. I remember going to see A New Day and talking to different ppl in the audience who only knew she sang BYLM and MHWGO.. and the audience was just mediocre.. ppl werent excited.. they were just there for a night of entertainment.. that's the general public for you. If you were to go our right now and do a survey of Celine's songs like Taking Chances, ANDHC, TTWII etc etc i bet you that a normal NON die hard fan would not know who sings those songs.. You mention Titanic and immediately everyone in the world knows who Celine Dion is. This show is perfect.. it's got her most recognizeable hits.. and it has covers that most people know. Open arms is HUGE. Huge song from Journey then redone by Mariah Carey.. The MJ songs.. i mean they are MJ songs.. everyone knows those.. It's very unrealistic to have songs like "sorry for love" or "cant fight the feeling".. just not gonna happen. She could perform a special show just for fans and only fans get enter and they have to take the Celine quiz to get tickets.. dont think thats going to happen

 

Personally and i've said it before.. ill be happy with whatever she sings.. very much looking forward to my trip to Vegas to see her perform regardless what she performs.

It's funny in Celine's career her DIE_HARD fans have no say over what's the project is going to be. Celine never had an ear-open to her fans from day 1 in her career; while many artists have been all over social networks like twitter/facebook/board messages written by the artist himself; Celine keeps being as distant as they come from her fans. The only receipt we get from her is 2min recorded video message[the TeamCeline video] from her that talks about everything and nothing at the same time; It's a shame that we as fans don't have any say in what's going on in her career while her career isn't at its best. If we don't have a say in Celine's career today, when the hell are we going to be heard for good? We are always put on the backburner and it's always gonna be like this " I'[Celine]m going to have it my way, you like/ you don't like it that's the show deal with it"

I agree with this a million times over. Every time I saw the AND show, the audience was very calm and nonreactive for the most part, many are only there to fill a night of entertainment for their stay in Vegas. Having lived in Vegas for the past couple years and having studied the tourist and entertainment industry, this is the kind of show that cities like Vegas must produce. People know the big hits and come to hear those, but for the remaining hour that's left, they must engage the audience and maybe covers are the way to do that. While I do wish there were fewer covers and more of her original songs that I love, that is the die hard celine fan in me and not the business person. I hope that not too many people are judging the show before having seen it and I sincerely hope that most love it just as much as I do. I really can't wait til opening night because I know it's going to be a moving and stunning show no matter what.

You talk about her "distance from her fans' from day 1 since the 80's yet you mention as proof all these recently popular social networking sites that just appeared in the past few years..

I doubt Celine even knows how to check her own e-mail much less access Facebook, and that's her business. Some people happen to think it's a waste of time (not me, personally) and there's a lot of other ways to reach out to your fans.

 

Celine has been among the most generous artists in so many ways We've heard her own driver talk about how out of the many superstars he's worked for, Celine's the only one who will spend hours signing autographs after a long and tiring show. We have seen her act extremely gracious and enthusiastic to even the most freakishly fanatical fans. She gets paid insanely inflated amounts for what she does, but she is also extremely generous to have done multiple 100+ show tours, something which would send other artists into comas from exhaustion. What more do you want?

They should have given the tickets to her rehearsals to REAL fans of hers not some businessmen who got a ticket to a concert he knows nothing about.

With all due respect, it wouldn'tbe very smart business-wise. Why give free tickets to die hard fans when they know they'll pay full price for tickets anyway? I think it was generous of her to give the tickets to the employe of the caesar's palace, the taxi drivers etc who are actually working for her for the next 3 yrs.

Genni I don't believe that anyone said they don't like Celine any more, we all joined this forum because we love her extremely. Sure we're not all gonna agree on the set-list and whatever celine and her team do won't please us all but that's the great thing about this forum, our discussions are awesome , and I for one really enjoy it. But at the end of the day we all love Celine. For a example I'm not really fond of this set-list but I can't wait to be in Vegas sitting in my chair waiting for the drapes to reveal the best singer of all time. Like I said WE ALL Celine if that wasn't the case we wouldn't be here! So smile please, because one thing for sure we all have in common here isn't out favorite song, or favorite music video but its our favorite singer and her name is CELINE!
