she is "TAKING CHANCES"!!! and we as a fans have to support her, because ouside here are many "CELINE haters", who will take any chance to talk about her in a rude way...If we do not support her...WHO WILL?

Im agree that this forum is to express our opinions, but lets show some support! she is starting a new seasson, is not that tough enough?

finally im shure that those who said that they do not like the set list, will be so pleased as soon as they listen/see the whole show, and then come back here to say "SORRY...I`M WRONG"

to you all...HAVE A NICE WEEKEND...and to all who is going to vegas during the next days..pls do not forget us!!!!

I totally agree with you terfunken, you read my mind completely. :yes: I love Celine, we should support her with her new show. It is a new step in her music career, to do a completely different show with a 31 piece orchestra. :yes: Plus Celine is a NEW MOM of twins, and she wants stability for her twin boys like she had with R.C. :thumbsup2: :yes: Can we please give Celine a break, after all she is doing it for her fans. :whistling: :yes: So can we PLEASE, get on topic. It's funny in Celine's career her DIE_HARD fans have no say over what's the project is going to be. Celine never had an ear-open to her fans from day 1 in her career; while many artists have been all over social networks like twitter/facebook/board messages written by the artist himself; Celine keeps being as distant as they come from her fans. The only receipt we get from her is 2min recorded video message[the TeamCeline video from her that talks about everything and nothing at the same time; It's a shame that we as fans don't have any say in what's going on in her career while her career isn't at its best. If we don't have a say in Celine's career today, when the hell are we going to be heard for good? We are always put on the backburner and it's always gonna be like this " I'[Celine]m going to have it my way, you like/ you don't like it that's the show deal with it"

And she's not obliged to use facebook, twitter or any of those to communicate with fans. Not at all. It would be enough if the people she has at TeamCeline cared about us and asked us from time to time what we think/want to see about a new album, single, concert etc. Easy as that! But it's better to keep acting like blind and deaf and say that today is Céline's 7th sister birthday or that on this day she won this or that award 127 years ago :rolleyes:

Awww Tere, you always speak wise and prudent! :wub: I guess you're right, so right with that. We have to show some support to Céline with this new adventure, and maybe she's not feeling 100% sure about doing this again (like it happened in 2003 with A New Day), I do feel bad for her because who knows what she's thinking inside her head at this moment or if she really wanted to perform in Vegas again (you know, I still think that is René's whim and not a real wish of Céline :ermm: ) .

sorry there is definately no hate going on here! and everyone has its right to share its own opinion! Why can't we express our feelings about this show?

I must say I changed my opinion bit when I saw a post which is really a good one; the audience that comes to this show comes for an evening entertainment and for them she is the titanic singer and some of them don't even know more songs of her, so they have picked songs and covers to complete the setlist, so it's full with songs people are familiar with. And that is because of Vegas! It's the place where she will perform in the upcoming time and she is just one of the attractions in the city again. So I think it is indeed, that, nothing more nothing less.

In an ideal world the colloseum should be full with fans like us every night, but as I read in here, it is not. So that is what they have to deal with too, that is what you have to deal with when performing with a show in Vegas. So I rest my case and I understand it.

The more I look at the setlist it's hard to judge. I don't know half of the damn songs until I'll hear them....but the show is top and bottom heavy with her hits....the first 4 or 5 songs have her hits and then the last few songs are her hits. The entire middle is James Bond, Michael Jackson, and other covers with I think two Celine songs.

I think they need to cut a couple of the covers and add at least a couple "Celine" songs mid way through the show. I can honestly see people like my dad, who are big celine fans, half way through saying "What the hell is this...where are HER songs."

i think it's crazy for them to replace any of the songs at this point.. Obviously we have a tourist friendly show.. that's vegas for ya.. Do you guys really think that they are going to pack that place 70 nights a year for 30 years with just celine fans? umm no.. its vegas.. yeah there will be fans there but nothing like will be there for the first few shows.. I remember going to see A New Day and talking to different ppl in the audience who only knew she sang BYLM and MHWGO.. and the audience was just mediocre.. ppl werent excited.. they were just there for a night of entertainment.. that's the general public for you. If you were to go our right now and do a survey of Celine's songs like Taking Chances, ANDHC, TTWII etc etc i bet you that a normal NON die hard fan would not know who sings those songs.. You mention Titanic and immediately everyone in the world knows who Celine Dion is. This show is perfect.. it's got her most recognizeable hits.. and it has covers that most people know. Open arms is HUGE. Huge song from Journey then redone by Mariah Carey.. The MJ songs.. i mean they are MJ songs.. everyone knows those.. It's very unrealistic to have songs like "sorry for love" or "cant fight the feeling".. just not gonna happen. She could perform a special show just for fans and only fans get enter and they have to take the Celine quiz to get tickets.. dont think thats going to happen

Personally and i've said it before.. ill be happy with whatever she sings.. very much looking forward to my trip to Vegas to see her perform regardless what she performs.

Ok, so we have to accept that Celine now is a mother-singer-buissneswoman more than ever and that we won't have anything else focused on fans? Ok, then I'm sorry, that's not the artist I want. Of course I will enjoy the bootlegs, and all the stuff, but I'm not happy with what is the doing, not taking care of her fans, she and Réne are only interested in money, money, money, money, MONEY!

You talk about her "distance from her fans' from day 1 since the 80's yet you mention as proof all these recently popular social networking sites that just appeared in the past few years..
I doubt Celine even knows how to check her own e-mail much less access Facebook, and that's her business. Some people happen to think it's a waste of time (not me, personally) and there's a lot of other ways to reach out to your fans.

Celine has been among the most generous artists in so many ways We've heard her own driver talk about how out of the many superstars he's worked for, Celine's the only one who will spend hours signing autographs after a long and tiring show. We have seen her act extremely gracious and enthusiastic to even the most freakishly fanatical fans. She gets paid insanely inflated amounts for what she does, but she is also extremely generous to have done multiple 100+ show tours, something which would send other artists into comas from exhaustion. What more do you want?

I'm not talking questionning her generosity; I'm questioning her openness to change or to do as most fans please. If she doesn't know how to use social network sites she can always learn how to use them :doh: ; It's not about using those means of communication that I'm questionning it's her artistry-boring-approach to her career that did not change a bit in the song-selection-wise for over 16 yrs now. :thumbsup2:

For example, Madonna in her last tour she did like a segment where she picks a song title that the crowd would yell to her and sing it; that's the closeness that I'm talking about; Celine does not care about fans song selection; she only cares about what the general public would be enjoying. :thumbsup2:

So let's say the show's setlist was made by fans, songs the majority of us would like to hear (the rare songs, the neglected fan-favorites, none or few of the ones we've heard a million times already). How much fun would it be for her, as an artist, to perform for a half-filled Colosseum night after night? Because the hardcore fans alone won't fill every single seat for 3 years, I think we ca all agree to that, and I doubt that a show without the numbers that make some of us cringe will make the show a best seller. I would feel so sad for Celine if it became a "flop", and that she was forced to go out on stage knowing that only 37-or-something-% of tonight's tickets were sold.. Sure, most of those will be fans, but still... I'd feel awful..

So why not let her sing the songs 1) she feels like singing, and 2) they think will make it a success

I bet they're gonna figure out that some songs/numbers just doesn't work, and that the show will evolve during the coming 3 years, but AND went through the same process and I think most of us who walked out of the Colosseum during 2007 were pretty darned pleased with what we had just seen?

I might be alone in thinking this way, but I would much, much rather have a huge record-breaking success for her (involving a less than exciting setlist) than a less successful "fan-approved" show. I could barf all over LCMM, but if I'm lucky to go back to Vegas (and that song is still in there) then I'm gonna "stand up and dance with her" when she asks and cheer her on...

Actually, she said in an interview... As long as my fans enjoy my music, I'll keep doing it... Yeah... fans are those vegas-travellers who spent 200$ to see her? So nice, Celine!
