Well its obvious Celine loves LCMM, and I dont think we can complain as she has added DOL into the medley, and to be honest I thought that would never happen. Imagine if it was ONLY LCMM......

to be honest.. I listened to the MJ tribute, and she does sing well, but nothing can beat the original Michael Jackson, even though Celine has a perfect voice. But sing more of your own songs Celine! Where is: Then You look at me? which would sound amaazing with this big orchestra. Instead u pick the same songs again! I mean, all by myself, My heart will go on ( okay I still like the song a lot) but why soooo many covers, although I love hearing her other material too. but I don't know, there's plenty material to sing? How would Think Twice sound in a orchestral arrangement? or Life for the one I love or one of your biggest hits of the past; Where Does my heart beat now? And if the audience does not like the show when u do more of ur own songs, well you can change the setlist, but not only this; bond covers, michael jackson.. what's next? and where are you in all of this ? I miss so many of your own stuff. I mean there must be Music of her own that can work perfectly for the non-fans and tourists too!

I was fine with the show being 75% covers, because I knew they'd be dropping songs. But I wasn't expecting them to drop one of only......5 non-covers.

He said its up to the fans to SCREAM for the songs they like in the show..but production will cut it if they feel like its not up to par with the rest of the show. SO SCREAM PEOPLE LOL. Oh you can be sure of that! If some song has to carry the can and be cut of the setlist it won't be one of those slow boring songs for sure, or the classic ones she has performed zillion times! No they won't touch those. Whatever can happen that a poor original song of her discography has to get the blame.

hm.. well that is great that Where Does my Heart beat now is in it.. but .. because you loved me.. please why is this called her biggest hit???? I believe she had so much big hits.. I am sick of hearing it! I mean, when I buy a new dvd of her concert, in say, about 4 years? I don't want to skip 7 tracks or more because I heard them on every concertdvd I have! Please Celine look at Madonna; you don't have to do like her, but she, even though she is not the best singer in the world, but she does reinvent her songs, brings in new arrangements, tries out her new songs and still her concert sell well, even though she does not sing all of her biggest hits. People who come to Celine, come for her big voice. They can we in awe as well when she does not sing her medley - all by myself, the power of love, because you loved me, river deep mountain high.... How I love to hear Right in front of you! It would awe the audience or that fantastic powersong Ain't gonna look the other way! Because you loved me could be better if she did it acapella or maybe just with piano. I know the song can get tiring but that is the one FIY album song that I just love, and think about it probablly everyone has heard it before at a wedding, graduuation, and maybe even a funeral. It speaks a lot pf power and maybe it's one of her songs she also likes performing.

That's exactly how I feel too. So so T.I.R.E.D that on every VHS/Concert we've had since 1997, there's always the same playlist

 

And yes you're right, they're just playing safe. They're not taking any risks with her songs, absolutely any. They're not thinking seriously about fans because if they had done that, they wouldn't have offered again the same concert she's been singing since 13 years. How many times have we listened BYLM now?? She has to be tired for sure, but she won't never tell that because its one of her hits and people like/love that song.

 

But where's the limit? Is there a limit when you have to admit "Ok, enough of this song, lets give it a REST"?? It seems there's no limit in Céline's team and people is going to get sick of those songs one day!. BYLM, MHWGO, LCMM... There HAS to be a limit somehow!.

 

Also, Céline Dion is one of the performers who has given more performances and concerts in the music history of all time. I mean how many concerts and shows has she done in total? Only A New Day and TCWT add up almost 1,000 concerts. So what I'm trying to say is that, being such a passionate performer, wouldn't be better to take advantage of that and try to present the most number of DIFFERENT songs she could to the audiences?? With all the crazy number of concerts she has done (and hopefully will do), she is not advised to change and modify the setlists from time to time, it should be an obligation to do it so often, so that she could present the more of her songs the better!!. But instead of that, the setlist has barely suffered changes for a decade, no matter she's touring the world and "supposedly" presenting an album, or she's with a show of her own in Vegas with the freedom to sing each night a different setlist .

 

Céline has to be tired of singing on every concert MHWGO or TPOL, but I think she's come to a point where she has given up to it. They all think nobody will be interested in seeing Celine Dion perform if they don't include the 6-7 pack of songs they've been using for ages, so that's what we have today one more time . But what is unacceptable is that together with those same songs, she isn't singing other 7 (or more) new ones from her discography that FANS are dying to see, and she is not only presenting more covers but she is singing too much of them this time

 

I don't know what's the concept of fans they have, if they really ever stop to think what we expect of her concerts today. But this thread has proved to be they're so wrong and in the opposite direction, no matter if they want to see it or not.

AMEN! and if those non-fans only want to hear the same setlist again , I advice them; stay at home buy a new day on dvd or bluray and better watch that, or even better, buy all Celine cds if u really like Celine and come to the conclusion how much you missed and that there is more than those signature songs.. songs that just scream - SING ME! To come back to Madonna, I can remember she once said, I am tired of singing those old songs and I am not gonna do them, this is the new me, the new Madonna. And now every concert of madonna has some of her signature songs, but always done in some way that it sounds different, that it feels new and fresh. Dear Celine, I know u love can move mountains but .. but I don't like it anymore. But I can scream and yell as much as i want.. you will never hear it and you don't care either i know haha But if you did listen that time at Oprah when some of your fans told you about this forum. I don't think that's much to ask, they could reserve one special night for fans and sing only songs from her discography requested by fans

I'm very disappointed about this new show. Not only the songs but the stage, the few visual effects, the lack of dancers, the whole show seems very poor except for Celine.

I hope over time things improve and the show might be better to "A New Day ...", but I really doubt it.

wow some of you are really good businessmen...

if they were to follow your setlists then maybe her shows would be sold out for 10 nights a year and the rest would be empty because how many times could the 25,000 fans on this board go after all??? the setlist is aimed at the broad audience who comes specifically for her big hits and not for some songs - no matter how great they are - that they never heard.

 

Everyone is suddenly turning into a pro on everything in the music industry when none of you have worked in it. And even though you think your advice is the best, well guess what? their vision - no matter how limited you might think it is - is working far better than you could imagine.

 

How could some of you judge something before they even see it???? When you see the whole concert, then come here and b**** about it all the time if u didnt like it. Till then let us please be able to read the info we come here to read instead of having to go through 10 pages of blablabla that is repeated every single time a song, album, dvd or show is about to come out. Don't you guys get bored of repeating yourselves???
