I think part of it is having a diminished chest voice. She's trying to compensate by using a combo of head and throat voices.

 

Still, based on the previews, she sounds better than on, um, Acadian Driftwood. That was baaad by her standards.

I have to agree with Prince Whiskers on the fact that she does sound better than she did in ''Acadian Driftwood'' though.

I take back what I said: it is liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight years better than the previous two duets she recorded with, how shall I say this, older men...

 

Edit: In my opinion she even sounds better than she did in ''We Are the World''.

 

Edit 2: Celine's strong point these days are high notes. I think she can sing higher than she did years ago, but her belting is not that strong anymore. She should focus more on high notes and less on the belting thing. That is just what I think in any case...

I like it It is so good to hear from her again, and I think she sounds amazing. I don't care so much for the technicalities, and I'm never going to pick her voice apart, even if all she could do was whisper, I would still be in love and be her biggest cheerleader. It would still be the voice I love.

Correct. Maybe it's his first day here I remember when Let Me Be Your Soldier/There Comes A Time was a HUGE deal, but we couldn't allow it cause it was an official release. Sorry folks, that's the price you pay when you're this big and Sony et al pay attention to what goes on here.

It's one of the best songs in French in 2000s ! She hasn't done such highnotes neither on 1f&4t nor on D'elles! I love it! and even the voice of the grandpa is better in a full song:) Love it! If her French album is gonna be like this, it will be awesome!
