"Voler" (duet with Michel Sardou) - Official Topic

I just heard the whole song; well Celine's voice is great; however, you can tell that she puts more intensity in her words than Michel Sardou.

 

The problem in this song is that Michel Sardou pre-recorded the song with one of his vocal-group-singer then Celine over-dubbed it.

 

Celine didn't record the song with Michel Sardou at the same time which is the MAIN problem aka Everybody is singing like they hear it...

I don't know what everyone is talking about. I don't know French, but from what i can tell celine sung the words beautifully. If Celine did record the song at a different time then Sardou it doesn't really matter cuz i can't tell. The songs sounds amazing in my opinion. I don't know what else Celine could have done to make the song sound better. It's much harder to sing when you are pregnant cuz it put's alot of pressure on to your diafram.

 

It is extremely hard to hit high notes and you can't hold as much oxegen in your lungs, so considering the obstacles i think Celine did an amazing job!!

You are right. I also like the song. It's differnt to the others duets she did. Reminds me a bit of "gothic rock" (I know, I know! it's not! just reminds me!)

 

Michel Sardou isn't that bad at all, some of her french duet partners had too "rough" voices (Garou, Éric Lapointe ...)

I don't know if people in this forum understand French but I was watching a radio-itv of Michel Sardou talking about his duet with Celine Dion, and DRUM ROLL... He was MOCKING the hell of Celine; I don't know why Celine even accepted to do this duet:

He was basically bragging about Celine's pregnancy and how Rene was her manager and s*** like that. I mean he should be grateful one is doing him a favour becoz if I'm not wrong he's basically a nobody in France

 

 

Michel Sardou is very proud to have Celine but he has a very special sense of humour that's true. You have to know the character to understand but there's no offense to Celine at all.

 

Then Michel Sardou is not nobody in France. He's just one of the 5 greatest artist of the last 40 years. Funny that he is not that famous in Canada. Did you know he has a 40 year long friendship with Michel Jasmin?

Well I understand this not posting thing up to the point, songs like for example A Paris were available both in links and even in MM section and no one made problems even though it was on a cd. What's more, the Celine fans posted it so it seems legal and official. One time we are told that we should work together but in other cases we are diffrentiated. I really don't understand. It should be cleared up that we are 1 thing, why to make groups? All in all, if it's really not possible to post links here to download the song why people can't even post links to youtube as there you can only listen to the song and it's no one fault that they're posting it here as they want to share the joy since they are not those who uploaded it on youtube...

A Paris is a song never released commercially. This is different. Whoever want to hear it should buy the CD. Don't expect get it from here illegally. You can go to some other websites who don't respect Celine's work and copyright for that.

And may I add, that most of the special songs are only available in certain countries. Most of the 25.000 members here would not have the slightest opportunity listening to the songs. I completly understand the fact that there's a problem regarding downloading a song before it's even released. But just the listening-link??? It's on YouTube, on Amazon ...

I'm sorry to correct you: But "A Paris" was well released! On the album "500 Choristes" in October 2005.

 

I'm completly your opinion that illegal links shouldn't be posted here. But listening-links ??!! Please don't forget, that alot of fans here don't have the opportunitiy buying or listening to these "rare" songs. And what's the point of putting here a soundclip, as it's on Sardou's website, on Amazon etc.

I really like it! I don't know french and I love listening to french music but some parts sounded a bit awkward to me.

But it was still so much better than I imagined it to be.

First it´s great to hear all new song from Céline after time, Céline sounds very good, I´m little surprised how all song sounds it´s diffrent what I was waiting after hearing extracts, but extracts were from begining of song and IMO all song sounds like it was song of 2 parts, first part until guitar solo and second rest of song so maybe with better bridge it can sounds better as all song, who knows, but it´s interesting also in this version, afterall I think it´s a good song and I like it, I think it´s better than we can waiting when colaboration with Sardou was announcement and many members were sceptical.

I agree. Her voice is awesome, but the song blows. When I heard it, all I could think of were bombastic choir singers, and gothic-style visuals....like the Haunted Mansion at Disney World. It was just way over-the-top for me.
