Davey84 Posted September 4, 2010 at 06:19 PM Posted September 4, 2010 at 06:19 PM Not even Céline's voice can save this song. "She'll be Comin' 'Round the Mountain" would have been a better choice. Not a fan of this song at all HMM yeah I think I have to agree.... there are some good parts, but overal the duet is mwah... I think the reason this duet doesn't work, is because they didn't record it together, just like I hate you then I love you didn't work untill the were both in the studio. Michel should have done his bit in Florida too I don't like his voice and it's like his voice is more sharp and louder than Céline's voice... I don't think this song should be a single... not a good choice IMO! Claudette Posted September 13, 2010 at 12:07 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 12:07 PM (edited) Here is a ''live'' performance of the duet. Nicely done with some footage from the tour in the background. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SbnMm9qCOA Edit: Something tells me they didn't even film Celine recording the song. I mean why else would they use tour footage... Edited September 13, 2010 at 12:11 PM by Claudette Quote http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg
Davey84 Posted September 13, 2010 at 12:14 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 12:14 PM haha sneaky advertisement for the tour dvd! lol! but yeah I think you're right! with SLV they used that instudio footage! VintageCeline Posted September 13, 2010 at 03:05 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 03:05 PM Ahaha that was LAUGHABLE! Why even perform that song if A. Michel Sardou was going to obviously mime, B. Not have Celine there, or even a recent video/picture of her in the background and C. Have that Michel looking bored out of his mind! Great promotion! Claudette Posted September 13, 2010 at 03:22 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 03:22 PM (edited) I know, I thought it was pretty funny. But I think Michel sang live though (or maybe it is just me), because near the end he looked and sounded a bit lost... I think they were planning on using the footage from the video they were going to shoot this month when they scheduled these performances. But obviously they had to come up with something new because Celine is not allowed to film the videos now, so they went for the tour footage. Edit: I think he is talking about the fact that Celine is on bedrest now before he starts singing, but I'm not 100% sure though. wjd Posted September 13, 2010 at 03:56 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 03:56 PM Sardou does have stage presence, I think so anyway! He's a singer of the Johnny Cash variety, lovely. PS that "live" performance made me realise how AWESOME Celine sounded! manolo19 Posted September 13, 2010 at 04:01 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 04:01 PM OMG that is the funniest performance I've seen in a long time, Obviously Michel did not pick the right time to do a duet with Celine! Quote
Julian Posted September 13, 2010 at 04:58 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 04:58 PM (edited) None of the recent (after 2000) french and english duets were promoted (well)... (just "Sous le Vent" i think) Since the audio didn't match the video i uploaded it. Now it matchs perfectly. Take a look: Edited September 13, 2010 at 05:05 PM by Julian Quote
fred Posted September 13, 2010 at 05:11 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 05:11 PM (edited) Just like the penguins in the film Madagascar said when they reached the so longed for North pole: "well, this sucks." What's the deal with picking songs these days? I mean who does it - Céline's worst competition: the Mariah camp, or Whitney-ville? She sounds better than she's done in years, however sucks it aint on a fine English tune. /fred Edited September 13, 2010 at 05:11 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Julian Posted September 13, 2010 at 05:16 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 05:16 PM Why does nobody notice that the end of the song is diffrent? Celines voice is like she is almost crying Quote
Claudette Posted September 13, 2010 at 05:19 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 05:19 PM (edited) I actually wanted to say something about the end of the song in the video earlier, but I though that I was probably imagining it. And I didn't have the album version with me, so I couldn't compare. But it did sound different to me too. Edit: And is just me or did Michel like missed some lines or something from 4:21? He looks a bit lost too... Edited September 13, 2010 at 05:24 PM by Claudette Quote http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg

justinecoria Posted September 13, 2010 at 07:01 PM Posted September 13, 2010 at 07:01 PM Well i think it sounded just as good as Sous le vent. THow dare you !! In SLV, her voice is musical, fluid, pure, perfect. In Voler, her voice is strained, not musical at all and trembles, she shouts notes, there's no control .I can't understand some people here saying that her voice is perfect :s:s. I really hate that way of straining her voice to hit notes, like her voice stays inside her throat. Quote
Belle Céline Posted September 14, 2010 at 04:33 PM Posted September 14, 2010 at 04:33 PM (edited) that doesn't not look "live" to me at all, he lips don't match the words and no they didn't film Celine singing. It's the studio recording over some footage of the tour. Had she sang it "live" on the tour we would have known about it ages ago. Plus some of that footage Celine isn't even singing in it. Belle Céline Posted September 14, 2010 at 06:47 PM Posted September 14, 2010 at 06:47 PM His part could have been but its not. They could have had him sing it live and used Celine's recorded studio part, instead they used the whole studio song and none of it was live. Claudette Posted September 14, 2010 at 07:55 PM Posted September 14, 2010 at 07:55 PM (edited) They were suppose to shoot the video this month, but they had to postpone it untill after the birth of the twins. Celine was ordered by her doctors to stay off her feet and take things easy untill the birth. In other words, she is on bedrest... Lou555 Posted September 17, 2010 at 08:41 PM Posted September 17, 2010 at 08:41 PM (edited) I'm not surprised at all that performance was lipped. For one Céline isn't there and it's not like it's a first you know. In fact it's pretty common on this show to see lipped performances anyway. At the beginning they said Céline was watching via satellite and they sent her lots of kisses. As for Michel's stage presence, he's that kind of singer(of dramatic and/or deep songs with significant lyrics)....he never smiled a lot shall we say... but he's a real and great singer with a 40 years sucessfull carreer. He's considered a music icon in France and Québec. I knew they would do a duet one day, it was to be expected. Personnally I like it. Too bad for the timing though, it would have been nice to have a video of them together. But I understand completely that Céline postponed it. The twins are THE priority, the most important thing right now of course. Edited September 17, 2010 at 08:50 PM by Lou555 Quote
zuv Posted September 18, 2010 at 07:38 AM Posted September 18, 2010 at 07:38 AM Celine sounds fantastic in this song. i dont know why people complain. Her high notes are great!! She still have that unique voice that NObody has on earth and will never have. Im so greatfull she agreed to sing this song while pregnant, just to say hi to her fans.... This song appears on the new album from French singer. Sardou's new opus entitled "Etre Une Femme 2010". It was released in Quebec on Sept. 7. "Voler" is already playing on French radios. mirage Posted September 22, 2010 at 06:44 PM Posted September 22, 2010 at 06:44 PM I think that as soon as she delivers the babies they will make an video for it... it can be shot in 4 hours and since it's now playing on the radios they should do it as quickly as possible... Quote
Claudette Posted September 22, 2010 at 08:22 PM Posted September 22, 2010 at 08:22 PM The fact that they actually postponed the video untill Celine can do it and is already planning it may mean that we might get something more than just a video of them recording the song in the studio.
