Javito Posted April 14, 2013 at 10:16 AM Posted April 14, 2013 at 10:16 AM (edited) talking about perfume, that's been a while ago? Don't tempt our fate, I'm sure one of the reasons why they have pushed back until autumn the new album release its not because the album is not finished, not because they needed more time to promote Sans Attendre... that's because they want to match its release with another new parfum release!!! :w00t: Stay tuned, a sampler is to be included in the "deluxe" edition as the bonus deluxed content!! Chin Posted April 14, 2013 at 05:41 PM Posted April 14, 2013 at 05:41 PM I don't see anything wrong if it's a re-release of the Deluxe Edition, because the calender is now outdated, so they replace the notebook instead Anyway, I'm still hoping a "Collector Edition" with new materials, but not a re-release of current edition 1 Quote
c4n4d4 Posted April 14, 2013 at 06:39 PM Posted April 14, 2013 at 06:39 PM Looking at it now unconfirmed sources were saying a "Collector's Edition" but not her actual team. Maybe we just jumped the gun here and without actual confirmation (even though most of the stuff certain fan sites say is true) started believing this was the case, when in reality all it was was a re-released deluxe edition? I mean either way it still kinda sucks, but even still business wise it makes sense to re-release the deluxe edition with something other than the calendar now 1 Quote http://24.media.tumblr.com/5fc8ed1dcd8690c2a8e2cad08629e4ba/tumblr_mrwbegFInv1rothmmo1_500.jpgJanuary 5, 2013 -- Las Vegas August 18, 2013 -- Las Vegas

smw Posted April 14, 2013 at 09:53 PM Posted April 14, 2013 at 09:53 PM It makes sense that they wanted to ditch the calendar and replace it with something that will withstand the test of time. And I understand all changes cost money -- but it just seems logical to have included some additional bonus material if they were going to have to create a re-release. 3 Quote
Xpresso Posted April 15, 2013 at 07:35 PM Posted April 15, 2013 at 07:35 PM This is probably a decision made by Sony France.I bet that Céline has absolutely no idea about this!!I'm sure if she's asked about the new edition including a notebook, she would say:"Did you say notebook?" Javito Posted April 15, 2013 at 08:16 PM Posted April 15, 2013 at 08:16 PM Well if she has no idea about this (which its probable the case as usually) she should. It's about time she knows what kind of crap Sony Music puts out. Its her name what is on the cover of this product, not her aunt Claudia So to my eyes, that's absolutely no excuse, especially for an artist who is supposed to be the best female singer of all time and who should have much more control and show much more interest in what she releases than what she actually does. 2 Quote "Hush, now... québecflower Posted April 15, 2013 at 08:30 PM Posted April 15, 2013 at 08:30 PM it seems to me that this is far more easier for fans to control their buying instincts concerning a product , why is it so important to have a collector's edition? Give more money to an artist who have far more than she needs already. It is the same phenomenon with the meet and greet thing. To pay thousands of dollars just to see someone 30 seconds, it is beyond my comprehension, and there is no justifications for it. I sure hope that Celine gives the proceeding to charity. When you know that for the majority, money is very hard to get, i don't believe in milking money even more for about the same product. It is not a painting who will gain value, it is a cd . . 1 Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

Hmmm it's "not very easy", really? I think that depends on the interest you show, don't you think? If she wanted to know, she would, just like René knows how many copies her albums have sold to the moment, because he is interested in knowing and Sony tells him. Also, we're not talking here about the 5th single of Let's Talk About Love released only in certain countries. Come on Xpresso, we are talking about an ALBUM release, which has only been distributed in certain french countries. It's not a major release, and Sans Attendre also meant her first album release in 5 years. If Céline showed some little interest in what Sony plans to release and what not, I'm sure she would easily have a say in all this. She has sold nearly 1 million and a half copies of the album, that's enough reason for Céline to show some respect to her fans and put more care in this re-release, and for Sony to let Céline release what she wants. She's not an amateur on this Sony owns the rights yes, but only limited to what has already been done, not what remains to be done or created. You picture Sony as a giant with unlimited power for doing absolutely everything with Céline, and it's not like that. As far as I know, there's no contract that includes any imaginary release or product that does not even exist, because that would be an abusive clause for starters, and the contract invalid. So if Sony planned to rerelease this album, there's nothing wrong if Céline sits down in the table with them and says "I want this and that to be included", and whatever what she wants to do. The problem is that she just doesn't. Sony is not a dog who is going to bite her for voicing her opinion, but the problem here I'm afraid is precisely because of the contrary It's much more easier and convenient for Céline and René to leave all of these aspects to "their team" or the people at Sony, and look the other way Edited April 15, 2013 at 09:02 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... The footage from the recording studio has already been shot, so I still don't get it why Sony is reluctant to release it. 1 Quote
Celine Fan 77 Posted April 15, 2013 at 09:23 PM Posted April 15, 2013 at 09:23 PM (edited) We should keep in mind that this was 95% Sony's decision. Celine's team probably just had to give the yes. And also note that this is a re-release of the Deluxe edition of the album, not a limited collector's edition like certain sources said a week ago. Having that said, I think we should also keep in mind that Celine makes more decisions than we probably know. For example, she was the one who decided how the cover of the 'Taking Chances' album would look, and we know this because of a comment René made during an interview. Some people say that she was also the one who designed the cover for the 'Ultimate Box'. So she makes decisions when it comes to her image, of course, because it's HER image and how the world is going to see her. I don't want to be seen as one of those fans who say yes to everything Celine does, because I'm not. This is just the way I see things. Javito Posted April 15, 2013 at 09:53 PM Posted April 15, 2013 at 09:53 PM (edited) Yes to a re-release of the deluxe edition, fine. Yes to wasting the time to release a clone of the 2012 release without making any changes, and missing the chance to include some bonus contents for the fans, why? Especially considering that D'elles had these bonus contents, does she have to say yes to that to? I don't think so! Carlos the problem is not that Sony has decided this rerelease and Céline has had to say "amen" to it. The problem is that Sony will have decided this rerelease alone because they don't count on Céline's opinion, but because she has never cared to say what she wants in this aspect. That's quite different, and its sad. Edited April 15, 2013 at 09:55 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

And that's the point. They have the chance to offer more new things, show some gratitude to the fans for the 1.300.000 copies sold including DVD footage, new photos or new songs and then have even more sales, and they just order to print the same packaging, probably the same booklet and the same disc, to include only a notebook instead of a calendar. This is just a re-release of the deluxe edition, we were all fine with the calendar being included (well most were) and the two additional songs, well now since its almost half way through 2013 continuing to sell the deluxe edition with a 2013 calendar would be pretty dumb, so they are replacing it with a notebook. This isn't a collector's edition of the album, its simply and updated deluxe edition. If they didn't include a dvd or booklet with the photoshoot and what not before with the deluxe edition they aren't going to do it with a re-release. 1 Quote http://24.media.tumblr.com/5fc8ed1dcd8690c2a8e2cad08629e4ba/tumblr_mrwbegFInv1rothmmo1_500.jpgJanuary 5, 2013 -- Las Vegas August 18, 2013 -- Las Vegas

And this is exactly what they posted: Re-Release of ‘Sans attendre – Deluxe Edition’ Fans in France, Belgium and Switzerland will soon be able to discover a new version of ‘Sans Attendre Deluxe Edition’ The new edition, will be released on May 13 and includes a lovely notebook (replacing the desktop calendar). The original edition is still available at The Boutique. ‘Sans attendre’ was a huge success selling more than a million copies worldwide!
