Javito Posted November 14, 2012 at 02:21 PM Posted November 14, 2012 at 02:21 PM What happened to HUMBERTO GATICA in this album? Am I the only who missed him in the song credits? I looked for his name in the booklet, but he's not credited anymore as the vocal engineer for Céline, now it seems it's François Lalonde (Humberto's assistant in other albums) who is in charge! Has François took over from Humberto Gatica from now on? I'm shocked if that's true, this is the first album where Humberto doesn't record Céline's voice since the early 90's Yeah Javito, i got mine at the end of last week. Not sure what day cus it got sent to the wrong house, but i think it was thurs/friday Hope it comes soon kev x Ok I'm relieved then! The price of that site is the best I could find for this copie (a bargain for just 10 euros compared to 27 of the Amazon.fr price), but I was afraid the delivery could be risky since they don't charge for shipping. Come on, Céline's been her diamont artist since 1992, he has recorded her vocals for each and almost every song of her since then! Something must have happened between them for him to just leave and look for another "artist" Humberto Gatica was clearly against the direction Céline was taking recording so many covers lately, and recently with the songs setlist of the Vegas concert. Maybe his disapproval with this matter took his toll, but I think he was so right and wanted greater things for Céline than those covers and boring songs they use to promote instead of the right ones Quote "Hush, now... CSCfan Posted November 14, 2012 at 09:51 PM Posted November 14, 2012 at 09:51 PM (edited) Humberto slowly passed over the reigns to Francois in 2007, when Céline was recording D'elles and Taking Chances..He has been working more closely with David Foster over the past few years. Maybe his disapproval with this matter took his toll, but I think he was so right and wanted greater things for Céline than those covers and boring songs they use to promote instead of the right ones The French album is mostly original songs, so I doubt the covers/no covers is relevant. I don't think we should assume there was any falling-out; people move on in jobs after 20 years for all kinds of reasons. Humberto said this about Celine in 2010: "She’s the most sensitive, wonderful, amazing vocalist I’ve ever worked with . . ." http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr10/articles/it_0410.htm As an aside, my favorite moment of Celine's winning the Best Album Grammy is when she pauses her acceptance speech to greet Humberto ("Hi Humberto, how are you?" . .at 3:17 of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5jYmY1z5nE) Edited November 15, 2012 at 03:38 AM by chocolatechip15 Quote

I still have not received my copie, they say they dispatched it the 6th of november, wonder if someone received it already? Sometimes the site takes awhile! When I ordered Leona Lewis' "Glassheart," it shipped on a Tuesday, and I got it the next Wednesday. But when I ordered Taylor Swift's "Red," it shipped that Wednesday, and didn't arrive 'til this Monday, almost three weeks later. :/ So, I think it depends sometimes. Angel2006 Posted November 15, 2012 at 07:33 AM Posted November 15, 2012 at 07:33 AM (edited) I think it was Vito Luprano. Yes. It was Vito Luprano who left Celine, to work with Christina Maria. It was something to do with Celine not writing her own songs. Vito wanted to work with someone who could write there own songs. It think that's the story, but as far as i know, this had nothing to do with Humberto and he didn't leave Celine to work with someone else. I wonder why he didn't work with Celine this time though? I really like Humberto and i know him and Celine have a really good working relationship. In an old DVD i have, someone said that Humberto is the only one Celine trusts to record her voice. mike_z Posted November 15, 2012 at 02:39 PM Posted November 15, 2012 at 02:39 PM Guys... hold it there... I think I changed my opinion. "ATTENDRE" should definitely be the next single. It's the only song on the album that has the potential to bring back the "PQTME" effect. TOTALLY! A good video full emotions, #1 hit. Quote

isurrender Posted November 15, 2012 at 06:05 PM Posted November 15, 2012 at 06:05 PM Yes. That's not completely true. First, Vito Luprano was fired by Sony Music and back then René was against it. After that, it would have loved that Céline's team keeps on working with him but René didn't get in touch with him anymore. It started working with Christina. It's completely different to say he left Céline to work with her. Moreover, it's kinda unlogical to say that he wanted to work with a singer who could write his own songs as his job with Céline consisted mainly (on top of being producer) in choosing and selecting songs for her. He was the one who received demos from writers, he did a first selection before introducing them to Céline and René. If Céline wrote her songs, he would have "killed" his own job. That's in french but here is the article where he said that René didn't call him anymore : http://www.lapresse.ca/arts/musique/201204...stina-maria.php Quote
