Taking Chances World Tour CD/DVD Release Thread

Guys, at first we should be happy that we will get many many things.

They had only publish one concert.

 

I've just heard the cd. I must say that the cd is very good. We can not compare the live concert with the concert on cd.

The sound can not be played on the cd as if you were in concert. Only the blu-ray DVD can it!

See not only the negative in everything. Hear or watch the concert, and revels in memories.

 

Everyone knows that Celine is a good singer. And it is not fair that the fans constantly discuss whether her voice is good or bad!

Often i will be really angry if i read what is written here.

 

It is a bit different when you not be peace with the packing. I agree that sony has made only bs.

 

I would also prefer such a digi-pack as "d'elles". Or a normal right cd. But we can not change anything.

Finally I got DVD/CD The Concert!

I just listened to the audio, so it was the full concert (including "Fade Away," "The Show Must Go On," etc.).

 

First of all, I don't know WHY people are complaining about "It's A Man's World." I thought Céline sounded great on this and it brought back great memories of when I heard that song. I remember I had listened to some bootlegs prior to seeing the concert and I didn't really like the song. Then, I heard it LIVE and LOVED IT.

 

I love the fact that we have re-recorded versions of "The Power Of Love," "To Love You More," etc. I also love the fact that Céline's voice isn't perfect on all of the tracks. There's some rasp to her voice, some shaky notes, but overall Céline's voice sounds genuine and powerful as always. I'd rather have some imperfections than everything sounding autotuned and computer generated.

 

As for the opening being cut, yeah, that's very disappointing and a big mistake on Sony's part.

 

Regarding the splicing of the two shows together: Oh well. Not the end of the world. We should be lucky that we got BOTH the French setlists and the English setlists. We didn't get that during the "Let's Talk About Love" tour. We only got French with "Au coeur du Stade". And remember when there was talk of a release of 2 full "A new day..." shows to show how the show progressed? That never happened. From this tour, we've gotten the English leg, French leg, and 3 hours worth of backstage footage with "Through The Eyes of the World"! Not to mention the gorgeous "Autour du monde" book AND a year ago, we got "Sur les Plaines"!

 

I think as fans, we are being WELL TAKEN CARE OF with ALL of these releases.

China- Celine says RC lost another tooth. If he keeps losing one per country, he'll have none left soon. Backstage, she talks to Rene and Mego about how she almost tripped during the Macau concert. She then asks Rene if he got his hair cut. He did.

 

China- Yang Lan talks about Celine. We see some footage from her show that we saw before, but wasn't in the 2 hour version of TTEOTW.

Haha. Thanks. I just think we need to be grateful for what we got. The release isn't perfect, but I think they did a damn good job with it.

 

I guess we should've expected this amount of complaints. After all, we got: the English CD/DVD set, French CD/DVD set, "Sur les Plaines", the movie, the book, the Bonus QVC CD, and the deluxe editions... There's A LOT to complain about.

I agree with you. I'll take an imperfect Celine anyday over an overproduced CD. I still say she sounds great. I'll go even as far as saying that there are moments that her voice sounds even stronger than it did years ago.

 

Some people will always complain about everything. What is so interesting is that whenever there is complaining and bashing going on here, you don't even have to wonder who it is, it is always the same people (actually I can count them on one hand). If they give us a completely live audio, people complain that Celine sounds crap. If they give us perfect songs that was prerecorded, people complain about lipping and autotuning. What do you people want from Celine. I really feel sorry for her, because she just can't win. Some of you guys really need to stop and take a moment to think about her for a change. Celine always give her all and more! How many times has she went on stage and perform while being as sick as a dog? If that doesn't tell you that she will do anything for her fans, then I don't know what would.

 

Edit: And who cares about typing errors on the cover. Really people those are insignificant details. This morning I saw something that made me think twice about complaining about all the crap you guys are going on about. There was this clip about this girl that has cancer and how Celine's music makes her happy and brings her comfort on the TV... and in the end, isn't that all that matters? Who cares about the details?

I personnally am always satisfied, maybe I don't THINK too much and just enjoy Céline's material and releases... I feel lucky to have had the A New Day DVD, the Sur les plaines DVD, and to be able to have the chance to see this wonderfull documentary and the Taking Chances concerts available on DVD, that will bring wonderfull memories back

Olivier: Unfortunately those who are dissatisfied shout louder and longer. We do need more people who are happy with the releases to speak up! Personally I was captivated from The Opening on. The intro of My Heart Will Go On gives me shivers. It's like I'm there all over again.

You're right. We'll just keep positive thoughts. I have complaints too and im sure that u have it also, but nothing can be changed now, so is better to accept or those who cant, they shouldnt buy the releases and the problem resolved

Yes, you're right. Sometimes is really hard to explain some things to some people. Let them all be the way they are, but u know, it gets frustrating sometimes for others who dont want to complain..haha

. But a lot of people here is claiming that she sounded a lot better in the youtube videos than in these official DVD and CD's, and everyone can check it watching the youtube fanmade videos and compare the audios we have.

 

I think that is because we are very very used to some lipped songs, and now that they are 'live' with her 2008/2009/2010 voice, some of us freak out because she sounds too low, or raw, or nasal or whatever. But that is what you get after hearing a version wich is almost 10 years (or maybe longer) old.

That will take time to get used to, but dont be suprised that ever all these 'complaints' they decide to stick with her old recordings.

 

That's what Rene meant: they want to hear the cd version

 

But i think that when people HAVE the dvd, and can SEE the show, it will be a lot different, then just hearing it ;-)

Its normal that she doesn't feel the passion when she's singing TPOL,TLYM, IACBTMN, MHWGO etc if she has sung those songs on every concert and every TV show she has gone in the last 15 years without stop. It's absolutely normal. Her nasality is obviously there, because the passion is not there. She is tired of singing the same all the time, she says it, but she doesn't put a remedy.

That is exactly the reason why she should approach these tracks from different angels, and do so frequently, whenever she gets tired of them. I can't see why her team are so against new arrangements and new approaches to old tracks. Seriously, they have some idea that the fans coming to her concerts are expecting the songs to sound EXACTLY like the cd's. If so, why even bother to come to a concert, when you can get off much cheaper just playing the cd?

How some of you guys can even say that there has been tampered with the vocals and that it was re-recorded and autotuned and what not is totally beyond me. Her vocals are raw and real (unlike the Las Vegas DVD). She sounds frigging awesome. And the nasally thing is something else I don't get: where do you people even get that from. Go and listen to the AND CD, yeah that was a disaster, but here it is gone.

 

I think some of you guys will be pleasantly surprised...
