I cannot see any french words in CD/DVD cover. So that means the CD/DVD covers are the same with E. DAMN!

So I just finished watching the dvd and thought about giving you my impressions.

 

Technically, I found it raeally well shot in terms of imagery. However, the sound, in my opinion, was not quite the best. First, they cut completely the audience noise during songs, which diminishes the concert experience effect in a way. Secondly, without trying to get into any controvoersy, I understand some songs were performed in playback during those shows, so I found the mix a little weird in those songs. It seems to me that the choir sounded a little to low and that there's not really a connection between the sound and video, if that makes sense. On the bright side, EVERYHING IS LIVE!

 

Celine's voice sounds really good, but sometimes a bit off-key.I found strange that in some songs she wounds really great and in others just good enough (which I think is beacause somo songs were recorded at a different time). Her performance overall is enthusiastic, as always, but because of how they eliminated the crowd noise, the connection between Celine and the audience is not the best.

 

Overall, I enjoyed it a lot, but not as much as the A New Day dvd. I think you'll be pleased, since nothing is cut, beside what at we already know. My favorites were: I'm Alive, Shadow of Love, Fade Away, Alone, My Love, Taking Chances and My Heart Will Go On.

 

(I had the best time at Celine's shows in Mexico City (best crowd ever!) and San Antonio, and I think perhaps I have some criticism because a dvd will never match the concert experience)

 

P.S. I'm so jealous of you Jime! but at the same time so happy for you!

I think the new audio is amazing... some may find it that she off or whatever, but i'm just happy that i love the old songs now haha...

 

but what i dont get, if this is all pre recorded etc. We dont know when she did it, but why in the hell didnt they used them for the tour...

then they wouldnt have to dub all the songs, and would the overall feeling be more 'live'

I have the concert dvd playing now. (sorry!)

 

It's great although I must say I do miss the first (cut) line of IDAN.

 

I love the fun bits of Celine, the grins to the audience and the looks to them.

 

Her voice is strong and I think it's different in a good way.

 

I heard her sing live for about half an hour in the early 90's when she visited a kids hospital - we were all crowded in one room to see her.....absolutely amazing. Anyway she was goofing around, having fun - sang Beauty and the Beast and joked about having to sing Peabo's part too as there was no one to duet with. This concert reminds me of that day, light, bouncy, relaxed, great voice and lots of smiles.

are IDAN, MHWGO and other songs sung in the cd/DVD the same on the movie or they put different versions of songs in the movie? What are the songs on the movie that are not on the cd/DVD?

It's a tiny shame they didnt used these recordings for the whole tour, and that we already know that the english songs on the french disc will be the same... otherwise it would be something to look forward to! (not that i am now, but it would be more fun)

Is expensive to any country. Maybe i could recommend fnac.fr, but is the same actually. I dont know the other sites..
