I just love the audio quality of the Queen Medley, especially The Show Must Go On! I acknowledge I haven't seen a lot of videos of this number in the show (because I didn't liked this medley), but now I have felt Céline singing it with clear and modulated voice, not like the "robot Céline". Glad she did her best here! :in_love:

There is no even such an extraordinary im alive remix, but thanx god that all of this that's being missed is included on the dvd at least

actually it will be the last thing I pop in bc of the release date. But it's what I want the most!

 

And like Timster said above, you guys can get The Show Must Go On and We Will Rock You from the Queen Medley on a bonus live CD with TTEOTW from QVC only That's the only reason I got it!

So last night I was pretty negative about what i had seen and heard so far from the concert dvds and cds so today I took another listen to everything that I can find before everything is released and here are my updated opinions. Everything about the intro being cut and the mixing of two concerts into one still stands but here are my thoughts on the songs.

 

IDAN..this version is very very good. She does different things with the song with her voice that i absoutely love! Its a fresh live version that was lacking from the A New Day DVD..it still sounds a bit non live but its so much better sounding than the A New Day DVD version. Her voice is more rich and powerful on this version imo

 

The Power of Love..I may be in the minority here but I have always been a huge fan of this live version since I saw it a week or two ago. It may be autotuned a bit, but I think it sounds fantastic and there is more emotion in her voice on this one than the A New Day DVD. Her voice sounds crystal clear and its fantastic to hear a new liveish version. Excellent.

 

Taking Chances..sounds just as good as the version i heard at the actual concert. Vocally its just as good. No issues with this one either.

 

Havent heard Eyes on Me or All By Myself yet.

 

Im Alive...again I have heard some people say that dont like this performance as much as other ones and that might be true, but I still think its very very good. Its a great representation of what we saw on tour imo. Probably not the VERY best, but very good regardless. Very happy with this.

 

Oh wait I just skipped over the MEDLEY! Ok so IACBTMW...the first half to me sounds really good but then it sounds strained and like her pitch is off...its vocally not the best we have heard..if it was rerecorded in a studio it wouldnt sound this strained or off..that would have been corrected like the power of love was.

 

Beacause you loved me..have not heard yet..TLYM...one or two wobbly parts but overall very very good and fresh and very happy to have a new live version. Very good!

 

OK on to Fade Away...I think this is one of the best sounding tracks. The vocals are 95 % on pitch and amazing. She sounds fantastic here. Full of emotion..she really gets into the song....it has lots of energy and I am very very happy this version is on the cd.

 

Shadow of Love..its not great and its not bad..its alright. Its passable lol. THis wasnt a strong song on the tour either.

 

Alone...almost perfect for me. There are again a few parts that sound strained and yes I think the omission of the scream and the adding of the dialogue before the instrumental is a odd edit because she never really did that in the actual show..or any shows to my knowledge so it doesnt make alot of sense...but overall the vocals are fantastic and it represents what we saw in the actual tour very well. Excellent

 

My love....amazing. Excellent rendition. Almost flawless. Beautiful. A strong performance.

 

The Prayer..havent heard yet.

 

Queen medley...This is another one of the strongest tracks...vocally its amazing and lots of energy..and Celine really gets into it and goes all out vocally. Hardly any strain or pitch problems..excellent version

 

I got you/Its a Mans World...this is one of the first songs I heard last night and this is where alot of my negativity came from. This is one of my favorites songs on the tour and the documentary version is out of this world good. This version is weak and kinda odd. Its off on many levels and not full of much energy. THe way some words are sung are kinda...different. Vocally its not horrible, but its definitely a huge let down based on many many many other versions I have heard from the tour. I am extremely happy the other fantastic full version is in the documentary. So thats a positive.

 

Havent heard LCMM...has anyone else and how wouldyou say it sounds compared to other versions throughout the tour?

 

RDMH..such a high energy and fun song on the tour. Vocally on tour her voice was usually full of energy and strong...on this version something seems to be lacking very much. Quite a bit of strain on some of the high notes. She sounds sorta bored singing this song on this version..not that much energy as I have heard on most of the other versions throughout the door..dont know what happened here. I will have to watch the dvd with this performance to really make a more accurate opinion...but from just hearing it...its lacking in energy and power.

 

MHWGO...it starts off wonderful...then in the middle in kinda gets wobbly and somewhat strained. It picks up in the end for the most part and kicks it back to where it should be. Not the best MHWHO though, but still very very good in certain parts.

 

So thats about it as of now. I havent watched the dvd and I havent heard the official cd..just internet postings of these songs. I was pretty negative about everything last night and I still have very strong feelings about this release, but after listening to about half the tracks..its really actually not as bad as I previously though..infact alot of it I am very very happy with! SO FAR lol. I will never get over the acapella intro being cut and I DO think there were alot of other stronger versions of some of what we got here..but overall I am happy with MOST of what I have heard today..I was really worried when I heard 4 or 5 of the tracks last night..but when you go back and listen to them again and listen to more...opinions can change. So thats it for now.

^ I thought LCMM was one of the best from throughout the tour! It definitely sounded fresher, I love that she played around with it at the end.

Just listened to the majority of the DVD audio and have to say that Celine sounds in top shape. Really really good and I actually cant wait to sit and watch the DVD when it's released here.

 

It just makes me wonder what went so fundamentally wrong with Live In Vegas CD.

So I've listened to the DVD audio like 3 times today and I have to say I'm pleased, it just brings back so many sweet memories! Aww gosh how I miss the Tour, it was so exciting, exploring new cities, even continents and meeting the most amazing people Miss it so freaking much, Vegas gives me strength though!

I'm gonna apply for the position of the one who proofreads and edits the CD inlays, at this point it's getting really embarrassing that they still manage to make so many mistakes, it's not like they have to edit a 900 page novel or anything for goodness' sake

See I told you guys that she sounds great. I'll add the songs that celinemaniac07 hasn't listened to yet:

 

Eyes on me: Better than the playback version. She sounds kind of funky in that song...

 

The Prayer: Good. She always sang it beautifully and I would say it is also very representative of the whole tour.

 

All By Myself. Beginning sounded a tad nasally, but it wasn't that bad. The high notes are amazing and I still say the big note sounds 100% live in this audio. The final note is frigging awesome. Her voice cracked a bit, which gave it a very nice texture in my opinion.

 

Because You Loved Me: This is the one that always worries me because she tends to sing that a bit nasally, but I have to say that this version is awesome. Not nasally at all. She nailed the big notes.

 

Shadow of Love: I know he mentioned it, but I'm sorry I hate the version on the CD. I said this before and I'm gonna say it again: Celine just didn't took this song seriously. The one in SA was the best. After that she just started messing with it...

 

Love Can Move Mountains: She sounded better than on the AND DVD, but I really don't count this song. She just has fun with this one and that is fine by me. I love how she changes the words everytime she performs it.

When I listen to ABM very carefully with headphones I can hear another voice at the start of the high note, but it's very quiet. I think some of the microphones they used during the filming must have picked up the playback version, or it might even be Celine singing the 'any' part live like she usually does it case of playback failure recorded from her microphone.
