She’s wearing a black dress in her early shows of that Taking Chances Tour. Maybe it’s from Asia, Asia Pacific/Oceania leg.

Yeah probably Asia. She still performed on an end-stage for the Oceania leg and the photo shows that she performed on an arena stage which she started to do in the Asia leg.

I believe this is Australia. Perth maybe? Definitely not Sydney because she had a back street there I believe.

So Tyler found the other rehearsal for the tour and sent it to me. To me it sounds like the album vocals are used for Taking Chances but with a live band one semitone lower. I love That's Just The Woman In Me, To Love You More, and eyes on Me has some attempts.

Many thanks, Abodi!!!

Gosh I remember these rehearsals.

Do we know where they came from back in the day?

I would love to have this audio in better quality, I love it when she does rehearse her songs.

Sad that many of the dancing was skipped later on during the tour.

Wasn't there also a rehearsal video from the intro of I'm Alive with all the attributes?

I'd love to know. Do we even know when these rehearsals were? I'd assume very early 2008 but not sure. It seems Celine sings much more in this one than what I posted a week or so ago in this same topic.

If these were shared just after they occurred, I would've only been 5 years old lol. Would be nice if someone had this shorter recording in full without so many cuts. I bet she went for much more of TPOL and IACBTMN here but only the first 2 words of IACBTMN are included.

In the audio I hear a lot of movement. Sounds like people are moving feet so I'm guessing that's part of the dance routines. Any chance there's a topic on this forum designated to these rehearsals? I've tried looking but haven't been successful.

I imagine the dancers had more to rehearse than Celine. Maybe they did a couple rehearsals with her, and they recorded the audio of being with her so they could use it to continue rehearsing on their own. Totally plausible.

It sounds like that original audio is being played on a speaker in a gymnasium for the dancers to continue rehearsing even without her, and we are basically listening to a recording of a recording.

It makes most sense why there is the recording of Celine for the dancers to rehearse to, but as for the recordings we have of the dancers rehearsing to the recording, it is a little less clear. Was it a leak? Was it a gift to us? Was it made for someone in her team to see how the dancers were coming along? Who knows.

I don't remember when we got our hands on this. My laptop shows I downloaded it June of 2009 which seems late, but most interestingly one of the files shows a media creation date of January 30th 2008 for one and February 1st 2008 for the other. Those dates would make sense.

Hoping there are still some moments like that in the other longer rehearsal but she didn't sing as much in that one. Early 2008 was actually quite strong, even her mids were quite good until she got sick. Believe she got sick the first time at the end of March. The vocals from Cape Town and Pretoria are especially strong imo.

She’s really having a great time singing “That’s Just The Woman In Me”, Those High belts.. I’ve noticed that when it’s about her classic songs. She doesn’t sing much like she was like “here we go again”. If it’s new songs she sings more in rehearsals with great high notes. Especially, the “River Deep, Mountain High”, full of high notes

I really love rehearsals because she plays with the note that mostly she gives more impressive high notes! But when it’s showtime, she really needs to make it normal.

Thanks for sharing! :)

Even on this day I'm sure she attempted a lot of things for the songs not included here, shame whoever recorded this didn't capture those. But if their motive was to show the dancing it kinda makes sense... Don't forget we do have soundchecks for a few songs from throughout the tour, like Taking Chances and Alone.

According to previous posts, they were shared by Aaron Felske (one of the dancers) on his website just as the tour started. So must have been end of Feb or start of March 2008. The dancers were rehearsing in South Africa using audio recorded earlier in Las Vegas, presumably during the musician rehearsal sessions.

Good to know. Did you find that information in a particular topic? Would love to read people's thoughts of these at the time.

OMG that's my favorite tour, and I've never seen these rehearsals.

The dance for Taking Chances was sick!!!! w00t.gif It's really a shame they only used it like once in the tour. At least I only remember a video of it from (?) I think Japan.
