Timster Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:08 PM Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:08 PM (edited) I don't see why some people are so moody about a mixed concert. It means whether you are English-speaking or French-speaking you are getting the best vocals and concert footage out of 4 concerts rather than 2!! Anyway half the DVD is still different!!! If what you said was true, it wouldn't be so bad, but it's not the case. The weakest performance of the four for IAMW is what we got. For RDMH, we got a great performance, but it wasn't the strongest of the four. By no means was the best chosen out of the four. And if you are ordering BOTH concerts, than regardless of it if's mixed or not you're going to hear that "best out of four shows vocal" at least once on one of the DVDs...we'd like to hear the "second best" on the other DVD....rather than "the best" on both. If the intro is cut I will be dissapointed but I wont be so dissapointed I dont get the dvd's. I am dissapointed in how nasally she sounds, they should have found a way to edit that or something, aside from that I think everything is great, including the cover. It means whether you are English-speaking or French-speaking you are getting the best vocals and concert footage out of 4 concerts rather than 2!! Anyway half the DVD is still different!!! Yeah some vocals who appears that have been pre-recorded in the studio? Come on... Timster, I'm sure that nearly all the members who are in this forum are willing to buy both versions of the concert (or at least they will try), both Céline in english and also in french, and I'm sure nearly all won't want to be pissed off with the same english performances in the 2 dvd's they will buy That's a joke to us. They had plenty and more stuff where to choose. Moreover, if we are talking about pre-recorded vocals, why she couldn't do it again for the french version? I mean if she pre-recorded the vocals of the english songs she performed in Vegas, why she couldn't record them again for the french version for a different day selection of performances? Hadn't they enough material? Didn't they talk of more than 1,000 hours of reel? It's completely absurd as you see Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
celine81 Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:21 PM Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:21 PM Let's remember that the majority of people buying these DVDs will only have one version, therefore the comparisons are irrelevent surely! Sony would have had to have taken each song from loads of different cities to create the best concert collection! Therefore damned if they do and damned if they don't! With what they've chosen maybe it's been done for the purposes of continuity! Let's celebrate the release, if I was Sony I probably wouldn't bother if all of the so called loyal fans are just going to assasinate every part if the release! Thank god they don't have to release something from whitneys latest tour....... Quote Check out my latest recordings. Recovering, Ashes, The Reason & Immortality

Oh I thought IAMW was great. I didn't realise there were better performances from Boston/Montreal. Maybe they had better close-up footage during the "bad" performance so that's why it was chosen for the DVD/CD. Quote

Jacqui Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:42 PM Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:42 PM What really frightens me right now is how some of you guys are bashing this release and Celine's vocals, while the DVD has only been released in Australia and they are not even awake yet... Haha so true, I just woke up and the shops aren't even open yet!! I don't get why you guys are picking this apart, we waited so long for it, can't you just enjoy it? I'm not planning to watch and be like "Ooh is this live? Which city is it from?" And if those thoughts enter my head, I'm gonna blame all of you! Actually, I'm way more excited for TTEOTW than the concert DVD anyway. Quote
Celinefanatic07 Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:42 PM Posted April 29, 2010 at 09:42 PM Wait, so is that full section cut? She doesn't sing any of "I Drove All Night" in the intro? Or they just cut out where she says "Is That Alright Boston"? Basically they've cut everything except the lines in bold: I drove all night, to get to youIs that alright? I drove all night, to get to youIs that alright? Is that alright Boston?I can't hear you, is that alright Boston? :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: Are you telling me they cut out the opening video? It's nice to listen to again. The old track heard too many times just feels plain and booring and nothing new but the way people applaud. Now it's like hearing it almost for the first time again, it get's exiting and you pay attention and you feel the song again. Love how she sings "touch me once again, and remember when" in a slightly different way than before. However, and I can't believe I am saying this but, the audience is too distant. It feels like a studio recording to which they've added applauds as intro and outro. I hate hearing the audience dominate on the bootleg recordings, but here they're far too absent. /fred :w00t: Does it sounds good?? I can't wait for that, TLYM is one of the songs with which I discovered her, and one of my ever favourite ballads New recordings of this and other songs are really making me impatient to watch the DVD Quote "Hush, now... And I don't know why you people pay attention to live/not live...it all sounded live to me. Plus I don't pay attention to that nonsense, I'm focused on seeing my hero performing, and the incredible songs that I'm groovin' to. And going wild over ALL THE EXTRA'S WE GET! Belle Céline Posted April 29, 2010 at 10:09 PM Posted April 29, 2010 at 10:09 PM I like the TTEOTW intro but you figure on the english version they could change the spelling of Columbus. Its spelled Colombus in the intro I know thats how its spelled on SLP too because the list of cities scene is the same in it. I know! I'm kinda angry that they misspelled not only the State Capital of my home state OHIO , but also the first of TWO TC concerts that I saw Celine in.I think thats the way its spelled in french/canada because thats how its on the SLP intro So wait, is We will rock you and the show must go on not on the dvds or cd? fan2celinedion Posted April 29, 2010 at 10:36 PM Posted April 29, 2010 at 10:36 PM Tsmgo is way more important than the soul medley or the mego flamenco Quote
Tyler1991 Posted April 29, 2010 at 10:38 PM Posted April 29, 2010 at 10:38 PM Regardless of whether or not it was more important than IAMW, it was certainly 4334530283 times more important than New Mego's Flamenco, the Intro, and the soul medley. Those three tracks were worthless for the CD. And if they were jus going to take the best footage from the four shows and make a DVD...why couldn't they have done it with all 132 shows and advertise it as such....it would be a great way for us to get the 10-12 songs which were rarely performed/only performed in certain places. Those three tracks were worthless for the CD.Yes but I chose to address IAMW since this song is quite equal to TSMGO in terms of it being the climax of a medley. And somehow I felt that if they felt the need to have one of these medleys on the cd for the sake of its "dramaturgy" the soul medley deprived the Queen tribute of the spot on the cd. Frankly I couldn't care less about the first half of the Queen medley but TSMGO is a really important piece of the concert. Indeed the other tracks you've mentioned are of course way below TSMGO in importance as well, but yea I addressed IAMW for the reason mentioned above. And if they were jus going to take the best footage from the four shows and make a DVD...why couldn't they have done it with all 132 shows and advertise it as such....it would be a great way for us to get the 10-12 songs which were rarely performed/only performed in certain places.Yea, said this many times. Yeah what the hell is up with that soul medley? Last time I check the DVD was called ''Celine Dion: The Concert'', not ''Barnev: The Concert''.Well this is in fact one of the reasons why I wont mourn IYA, since I was never to eager about Barnev's mini concert. /fred Edited April 29, 2010 at 10:52 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.
