Taking Chances World Tour CD/DVD Release Thread

Do you remember where did they rehearse the performances? In Las Vegas before the tour started? Is there any video available of this?

Rehearsals started in December 2007 at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas. There are some videos around of the dancers practicing their routines set to a recording of the show, and all of the show is live. I guess they recorded an entire rehearsal session so the dancers had something to work with. However Celine doesn't really sing that much, only certain parts of songs here and there and then misses out various parts like the big notes or whatever. She's rehearsing afterall and probably doesn't want to strain her voice, but it's still interesting to hear even though the quality is pretty bad. I think those are available on YouTube or I might have them around somewhere.

 

And then we had another video which was some footage of Celine herself rehearing set to a remix of TLYM, which I can't find on YT anymore but I made some caps at the time:

Dont know if i am mistaken, thought i read on one of the topics that it would be nice if "A New Day" Las Vegas was released in Blu-ray. Well i was looking through one of our local 0nline shopping sites, and there i saw it advertised in blu-ray. Hope i am not making a fool out of myself now. Maybe it has already been out for a while.

Just got done watching the French DVD and you all are right, it's so much better then the English DVD. There's so much more connection with the audience and I apprecite the fact they didn't butcher the speeches as badly as they did the Boston ones. And thanks to the awesome subtitles, I understood what she was saying when she spoke. Favorite performances were L'amour Existe Encore and S'il Suffisait D'aimer. So good!

Yeah, i love those songs too. And PQTME - i love hearing the audience singing to her - wish she'd do that more often, and for longer than one line.

Without a doubt, my favourite performance from the DVD is LCMM. It was never a song I liked live, but she sings it with such energy in the DVD!

Is the Deluxe edition with the concert and the TTEOTW movie going to be available in stores? I stopped by Walmart and Best Buy today and couldn't find it. I read on http://www.sonymusicdigital.com/celine-dion/pages/5472878/ that is was supposed to be available on the 25th. Will I be able to buy it at the store or is it necessary for me to purchase it online??

i know it was said that montreal was taped august 31 and sept 1, but if you look at her they are 2 different hairstyles...

and not just 2 days of hairstyles but if you look at the video it looks a lot like the aug 19/20 dates. I mean most of it did seem from the Aug31/Sept1 dates, but some of the hair looks different b/c you can tell how her hair is in the other 2 dates...

The Aug19/20 dates look a lot more like boston... and they did have all the extra lighting out for the aug19/20 etc dates, but they just didn't have the warning that they were shooting for a dvd on those nights it seems

There was no filming crew on Aug19/20.

i do not believe that they would let pets in! but I just listened .. cannot hear a dog sound. What you hear is the pizzicato strings, which are a bit lower and therefor can sound a little more bass-like and maybe that is why you thought you heard a dog

it is not on the cd; probably because its a cd, which can contain only 80 minutes
