Timster Posted May 21, 2010 at 02:48 PM Posted May 21, 2010 at 02:48 PM I've just finished watching the French concert. It's so much better than the English DVD. She's far more connected with the audience in Montreal. She gets loads of standing ovations - even after IAMW! And the opening speech is far nicer than the edited Boston one. Also, the MHWGO finale is far more dramatic. Instead of walking around the stage, she stays on the rotating platform, and in my opinion it's far more powerful, as the footage is amazing. I thought the best vocal performances were Destin and S'il suffisait d'aimer - she sounded so great and not nasal at all! I think I'll be watching the French DVD much more than the English one! I also received the TTEOTW Deluxe Edition today - it's gorgeous!! I'm showing my parents TTEOTW in Blu-ray tonight! Quote

CSCfan Posted May 21, 2010 at 03:49 PM Posted May 21, 2010 at 03:49 PM Also, the MHWGO finale is far more dramatic. Instead of walking around the stage, she stays on the rotating platform, and in my opinion it's far more powerful, I kinda disagree....she kept standing on the platform up till the North American leg and while it does have *something*, I actually think the walking is more powerful, especially during the last part of the song (which is powerful too). She also connects with the audience one last time before leaving the stage (instead of just standing in the middle the whole last song). Love it! Tim i also have to disagree with you I think it is far more dramatic walking around the stage She is with her fans and saying goodbye before she leaves for the last time. When watching MHWGO on the french concert, it diddnt feel as dramatic as the english one, as all she did was stand there. I love how she throwes her dress before the (powerfull end) part, whereas in the french one all she does is stand there, and you dont feel the power from her at all. sorry tim i have to disagree I do understand your point that it isnt the last song tho, but i think mhwgo is the best song to end a show, as its more powerfull as everyone can relate to the song in the world nomatter what language barrer there is kev Edited May 21, 2010 at 05:12 PM by kimankev Quote

They don't even applaud after the songs. the thing with ''Shadow of Love'' that bugs me, is the sound; céline, the backing vocals, the music, it sounds taken from a bootleg!! I really love shadow of love on this album and DVD! The studio recording is great and one of my fav on TC, but we have to appriciate that not every song can sound as good as the album live! I think celine sounded awsome on the DVD and she sang the song really well! Its the same for "Thats the way it is", it neaver sounded brilliant 100% live but its the best that she could sing it live, and i think she sang it well. its harder to sing uptempo songs, we have to appricate that! i would rather have it on the DVD than have it taken off, its a gem! some of teh notes are brilliant and the end note is just great! kev Edited May 21, 2010 at 05:23 PM by kimankev Quote

Yeah, there is something weird about it. At some points it sounds like the sound goes softer or something. But I just don't like the way she sang it. I wish she sang it like she did at the beginning of the tour. At first ''Fade Away'' annoyed me too. But it is actually a pretty strong performance. Rossum89 Posted May 21, 2010 at 06:15 PM Posted May 21, 2010 at 06:15 PM It should've been Can't Fight The Feelin and Fade Away that she did during the shows. I think US audience would have enjoyed CFTF. I love Shadow of Love and I enjoyed hearing it live but the fact that she shortened it kind of took away from it because the last half of the song, it's the same thing over and over. I am just thrilled I got to hear, we all got to hear, Fade Away live! Although I liked the earlier version better in South Africa when she really hit those notes, but then again, I don't think that was live. Fade Away performance survives the setlist because of the dancers and Céline herself dancing number, if not, it will be as weak as Shadow Of Love But actually I find SOL live version quite interesting, especially in the end when she does those adlibings at the end of the song I would have added that to the album version seriously Quote "Hush, now... Rossum89 Posted May 21, 2010 at 06:57 PM Posted May 21, 2010 at 06:57 PM Hey, watch it, I was one of the people in that Boston crowd and me and the people I was with, we were certainly not lame! We were up dancing the whole time! And for the Fade Away lipping thing, someone correct me if I am wrong, but if you watch the early videos from the start of the tour in SA, it sounds different but I guess it could be the fact that her voice was stronger at the start of the tour? Fade Away in South Africa: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN72eCHm3aUFade Away in Boston: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJeFkqLB2W8 The last part of Fade Away in SA is so killer. Awesome notes! LVCeline Posted May 21, 2010 at 08:38 PM Posted May 21, 2010 at 08:38 PM Yeah Shadow of Love was great during the verses, great during the chorus, but the bridge fell to crap and then the very end was amazing. That wasn't my favorite on tour but it was better on the DVD I think save for a small portion 3/4's through the song. Quote
