I'm going to watch at least one of them tomorrow, don't know which one I should start with! Or then.. Maybe I just start with one of them tonight already and continue with the other one tomorrow! I guess I'll start with the movie.

 

Did you order them online or are the stores waking up in Finland and actually selling BOTH DVDs?

 

I guess they are waking up! Or at least there are a few stores that have woken up. I searched for information about the releases in Finland via Google, and I found out that this record store called "Levykauppa X" (Levykauppa X) sells both of the DVD's! At least the stores it has in Helsinki and in Turku. So I went to the one in Turku today and asked for the DVD's, and they had one of each!! So now of course, after my visit, their storage is empty I guess...

Just finished watching the DVD and I have to say overall I'm very impressed. They captured the show very well and I loved that they showed lots of the audience and almost everyone they showed was young. Loved Celine's wink directly at the camera and I have to say the iconic shot of the whole DVD for me was the panning shot when Celine was twirling the mic stand during RDMH. Great stuff.

IT IS AMAZING! Such great footage and vocals! And it's fantasic with surroud sound and the volume turned up!

I'm giving up with this DVD guys I just can't get enough of it!!! I'm totally IN LOVE especially with her Eyes On Me performance. The way they brought this song to the stage, with all the dancers, the capes, Céline with her own big cape, then dancing with the dancers at the end of the song... its A-M-A-Z-I-N-G One of the highest moments in the DVD I don't know how many times I've watched this performance now

 

BTW, does anybody realized that the instrumentals in the opening of Alone in the DVD Movie are slightly different from the concert DVD?? Listen closely to the bells... they are different in the movie DVD, with more details in the xylophone(?) they play I prefer movie's version of course. Don't know why they changed this in the concert version

 

I think I will watch the full concert again tomorrow

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ! I would like to know who bought anything from Myplay direct and actually recieved their product. I have called Sony music and the Celine Dion store and they have not heard of them. The address on their FAQ page is incorrect. I called them and they have no knowledge of my play direct. I have not gotten my product that I ordered and they will not respond to my emails. They just said a few days ago that the release date changed to May 25th for the FRENCH version of the concert...which is incorrect. So I would like to know who has ordered from them and actually gotten their product with no problems...and if you have a contact phone number for them. They have my credit card information and I believe this is a scam. The link to order the dvds is on this forum so I dont know whats going on. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you. Ah, so perhaps is the Montreal version which is included in the movie DVD? (I haven't watched the french concert yet to compare)

 

In that case, the english Alone and the "french" Alone may have the same vocals but be from different concerts, so the instrumentation is slightly different? I have no idea, again

Also If I remember, in ABM, when she "sings" the note in one concert you can hear a lot of applause and in the other there is less applause

According to empik.com and their shops around Poland all releases have been postponed to 24th May?!

Although in shops like Media Markt there are lots of Blue ray editions () everywhere and in biggest cities there are dvds from the movie... I'm really fed up with all this mess!

It really does. I like the idea about giving us general information about the tour, how many flown miles, how many check-ins or what was it? and all the other infos i like it. Unfortunately we don thave the small pictures in big size......

Before all, Hi to everyone! I've been silent for months now... Hard life! Anyway, I've been so off lately that I only discovered by accident that the TCWT package was already out.

 

I've been reading the complaints section and while I understand some people's complains I think that on a whole, this is probably the best live release Céline had in her career. After stating this, I'll try to cover everything that's been said and my thoughts about it, though I will refrain from commenting on trivial stuff like the packaging or the photos or whatever because I think that's pointless. While the way you see a package may persuade you to buy it, I think that the main reason for a music fan to buy something should be the artistic content of that same release and that's what I want to talk about. (ANDLILV DVD had a really nice package, and while the show was enjoyable, it never really took flight like i think this performance does).

 

I got the english version of the show (can't wait to lay my hands on the french one) and all I can say is that it is one of the most enjoyable shows recorded and released throughout her career. It's light years away better than ACDS with that corny heart-shaped stage and I think that there's an amazing energy throughout the performance and an incredible generosity emanating from Céline. You can clearly see she's have a great time and that comes through in the way se communicates with the audience.

Regarding the lipsync issue, well, I don't know what they done but, if she's really lipping songs, I think that the fact they took the time to get into the studio and record different samples already show some care towards this issue. Overall the show sounds believable with flaws, which is good and you can clearly hear she's been singing live for most of it because of how tired she sounds during RDMH, which leads me to believe that MHWGO was lipped, because she sounds unbelievably fresh during that song

 

The setlist is pleasant enough, in my opinion, and while it may be tiring to listen to some songs over and over again, let's not forget that she needs to sell tickets and actually, everything she sings in this concert is what I would expect to listen from her.

Let's also not forget that this show was also a way of Céline giving a concert for millions of people who couldn't attend Vegas, and while it may not be the same experience, musically it is a good replacement. In terms of energy and joy of performing it's way beyond the Vegas show, I think.

Of course there are tons of new things one can do, but I think some people fail to see the larger picture: she's a mainstream artist with a career dating back to 25 years ago and filled up with hits. If "Céline Dion" goes on a massive worldwide tour, don't you think she should sing her biggest hits? Of course one may argue that more items from TC should have been included, but then again I don't think the album (no matter how interesting material it may have), could serve as the core for a show: its songs simply don't have the star power of Céline's 90's hits, and that's why I think this setlist is well structured: it has a nice balance of Hits and new songs and I can't think of any other songs from ANDHC till now that could have been included, except perhaps the uptempo version of Sorry for Love. From OH we have the strongest track on the album: IDAN and thankfully we didn't experience any of the Renee Charle's syrup! If you think about it, TC is the most strongly represented album.

 

Regarding the filming of the concert, I think it is really well captured and so so so SOOO enjoyable! I had a smile in my face all throughout the performance and Celine's good vibe and positive energy really came through in a way. All her human niceness comes across in the way she performs and the way how she's always interacting with her band (even if only through a grin or a small gesture) shows how at ease and how happy she feels performing on tour and how she loves to make music with this people. This happiness comes through and you can't help but feel it and be go along with it.

 

All these artistic reasons make up for any packaging mistakes I think.

If i recommend you fnac.fr it is the same, so im not sure it helps. Try proxis.be(the belgium one). They are completely ok with the prices and esp shipping as far as i know

I completely agree with you TheOne! I felt the same way when I went to the TC concerts - 3 total - she looked so comfortable and at easy, I couldnt stop smiling, clearly, we were witnessing anoter stage in Celine's career. Loved it! But I bought the cd/dvd combo and didnt like the packaging, because of handling it a lot, I already ripped it, and its been only a few days of having it. TC cd was also "cardborad"package, and it not in good shape either.But at least had more pics! Celine is a BIG artist. Why they (Sony) dont make an effort to give her fans a better packaging, it is just beyond my understanding. I collect all her stuff, so I hope it will last quite a few years. The DVD is on top of the selling charts, so its not that they need to save money on this particular artist because they dont know how the return is going to be...!

Celine gave us her all, the very best, and this should be taken into consideration when they were producing this historical DVD.
