Its my favorite french song that and Jetiame Encore

I think it's important that Ce N'etait Qu'Un Reve is performed. She hasn't performed it in over 25 years except for retirement concerts and such. The 20 second rendition she did in the LTAL tour wasn't enough. The only exception is the performance at TCOML concert.

 

This is in some ways the single most important song of Celine's career.

 

I like DUAM, JSP, SSD, Destin, and LEE but we need something more than these songs performed. And definitely something else besides PQTME and J'irai Ou Tu Iras. ESNRQ was a nice change, ONCP at SLP was a nice change, etc...

 

Great songs like Le Ballet (okay, I know it's been performed alot, but not recently and the band intro she did during FIY and D'eux Tour was awesome), Quand On N'a Que L'amour, Des Mots Qui Sonnent, D'abord C'est Quoi L'amour, Delivre Moi, Le Blues Du Businessman, Mon Ami Ma Quitte, D'amour Ou D'amitie, and so many more....they're all overlooked.

 

I guess the same can honestly be said about the English songs, and to a greater extent. The same 6 or so songs are performed non-stop while great songs are overlooked.

 

I know a few years ago Barbra Streisand went on tour to specifically perform songs she had either: never performed before, or rarely performed. Celine could/should do the same thing. A 20 song set where she does this could work.

 

She can, and honestly should, still perform My Heart Will Go On. It is her biggest hit, so this should still be in the show. It could be the opening song though rather than the encore.

OH and TD? Um they don't deserve recognition. I agree with IDWTMAT and TR...that would be amazing. TYLAM will most definitely be in the setlist which i'm excited about.

I agree with the quote above. I think the best shot of having "Je ne vous oublie pas" added to her upcoming show is if it were the last song before the "obligatory" "surprise" encore. Once "Je ne vous..." finishes, Celine could then leave the stage and come back to perform a movie song such as "Because You Loved Me" (IN FULL) or, as another forum member suggested, end with a rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow."

Sadly, no. To say I was surprised at this would be an understatement. When I went to Opening Night, I was anticipating hearing her perform something in French. (It would have been my first time seeing her perform a French number live.) Needless to say, I had to settle with hearing her perform in Italian instead during "Ammore..." It was a bit uncomfortable after the show considering her family was there, Garou, Luc Plamondon, and other highly influential people in the French music circuit. It was a big mistake they learned from quickly and resolved in a timely manner.

Hell no!! That's just an excuse to keep the set list as conservative as they can as always. I am a big fan, and I am way too tired of hearing those old hits. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but please let we all rest from them for a little while!!! If she wanted she could very well do some songs which are fan favorites but never/rarely performed like Us,Reveal and Miles To Go and change the French act and have OSEAAC or even the wonderful power rock-orchestra ESINRQU instead of PQTME.

 

 

This would be a perfect opportunity for us to hear her sing I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, the song she was supposed to record.

 

I really do hope they take it very easy on bringing on too many old goldies. Those says are over, if she wanted to sing evergreens she should have done it 7 years ago when everybody else was doing it - now it will only seem as a desperate way of catching up (if even that).

 

I say, go for less predictable tracks.

What A Feeling I know it's tacky to bring up this over covered track, but, bring it on Céline!!

 

Circle Of Life (the version in the beginning of the movie by Lebo M and Carmen Twillie) how incredible isn't this version of the song?!

 

 

And for those of you who suggested ABBA-songs, it's a bit wierd, however I can't help I want to hear Céline do The Winner Takes It All.

 

And I would really like for her do include In Some Small Way if only for the fact of having it on satellite for a telethon, which I think this song is meant to be for, but never was.

TLYM does not need to be performed. It wasn't really a hit. Just a single - nothing more than Misled or Nothing Broken But My Heart....actually, it's less because at least those charted at #1 in some form of a chart (in the US).

 

IACBTMN - gone unless it's in the full 7 min version

 

RDMH - it was refreshing to have this song back at the end of Vegas but it can be replaced

 

MHWGO - this should definitely stay, but let it be the second to last song... listen to the ANDLILV CD...listen to how many people scream "encore" or "one more" ....ending with this is a let down

 

TPOL - remove this. she removed WDMHBN after 7 years because she was tired of it...hell she's done this 10x more than that song

 

LCMM - mixed feelings. it's been in every tour and one of her favorite songs, so I feel it should stay. But she has really lost what this song was...it's changed so much since 1992 and I don't like that. She should perform it right.

 

BYLM - perform this but in the full version. It's been so long since we've heard the "...wings and made me fly..." verse.

 

The only medley should be a French one. How about CNQR, something else, and then ending with LBDB.

Well I think you'd be clutching at straws if you think there's a chance Celine is gonna pick it, but I could totally hear her sing the song. It's quite French in style, it would suit that language very well.

She could recycle Cher's outfit too. We already know she can carry off pink.

I highly doubt this song will ever be performed live, but I think "Prayer" (not the duet "The Prayer") would be absolutely beautiful with the big orchestra. I seriously hope Celine, Rene, and her team are going through all of her past songs (doubtful) so they can find the perfect ones that would go the best with an orchestra.
