I think she should do more than one french song. And, I don't know if it's been mentioned before but I think it would be great if she would sing Imagine!

That would be amazing but unfortunatly, I don't think they can do that. But, she could sing more French songs. Maybe she could try Hymne à l'amour or something like that. A whoel show in French would be just the best!

And they could easily use the led screen to put the literal english translations to the songs. If i remember right i think they did partial lyrics with Et je taime encore, didn't they? Or even print the song words in the show program. If people knew what she was singing they'd enjoy the french additions to the show alot more.

Delivre-Moi - another fave

On S'est Aime A Cause - would sound so beautiful live

Comment T'Aimer - my fave from early Celine

Je Ne Veux Pas - another fave

Je Chanterai - would sound great live with orchestra + "extra" voices (choir perhaps)

L'abandon - i love this one too!

If she sings ANY of these ones when i see the show/watch it on tv/dvd etc i'll be VERY HAPPY!! :whee:

Well there is not doubt that there should be at least 2 French songs!

They should make a break from PQTME or SSD, it's for some other gems, because Celine's French songs might enrich the show very much.

Will MHWGO have to be the final song again?! Something like "Live (For the One I Love)" or TCOML (her wedding song) wouldn't be a bad choice.

Live is a great great great idea for an encore. It's actually better than Refuse to Dance or Call the Man for me. Furthermore, they could easily bring some smoke on the stage and make her dissapear at the end with "Live" too. I'd love any song that may imply the idea of a goodbye, it would fit a last song for sure. Remember the lines:

"And even if I have to die, love will not die; love will change the world". Then, at the end: "And I know, my love will stay"... It's very dramatic and fits the -idea we have of- the show perfectly. It was in fact the very last song on her last album from the 90's, it should mean something. It was also, the first song she lipped in the 00's, and that decade influenced badly her career. Maybe if she actually sings it everynight from now on... (But i don't believe in things like those, no no no no) :xmas_rolleyes:

I don't recall her ever saying she didn't like it afterwards. What I recall happening is that she got a hernia or some injury that may have been caused from the flying in A New Day.... It was also stated that her injury could have been caused by her pregnancy/giving birth, laughing, or just a simple cough. I believe if she had not been injured, the song would have stayed as part of the regular set list for the show and possibly even may had even made it to the end like "I Surrender," "I Drove All Night," etc.

NO NO NO!!!

I detest, hate, and am utterly disgusted with medleys. I am absolutely sick and tired of songs being performed half assed, shortened, cut......jesus christ, please perform them in their original manner.

A covers medley is okay becauseshe is bound to do at least three of those and let's get the non-Celine songs out of the way quickly... lol

Yes. It would be lovely to hear songs in their entirety…but that's next to impossible in the Vegas setting. The show can only be 90 minutes. And Celine has to "cover the bases", so to speak. She has an enormous repertoire of songs - and her casual fans expect to hear them. There's no getting around it.

So I think we're going to have the embrace the concept of a medley. I think it could be done tastefully. But if I hear the same ones that she's performed over the past several years --- I will be mortified.

For this show, even though I know there will be many of the same songs, I want it all to be fresh. I want as many new songs as possible. A few surprises. And she should absolutely record some new voiceover tracks for the songs she plans to lip. That's not too much to ask.

The only songs she HAS to perform are TPOL, MHWGO, IACBTMN, and BYLM. Everything else - TLYM, IDAN, I'm Alive, RDMH, etc....those are not basics and do not need to be touched at all. They can be disposed of.

I think she can perform those four hit songs without a medley, and still have room for 12-14 more. No reason why she couldn't.

My main wishes are - A french song aside from the usual, an encore of something aside from MHWGO, and the death of the vegas medley.

Yep this is different, but she was about to fall with the globe that time on these awards too. Pay attention at the start of the video: seconds 18'' and 19''. She was shouting "Stop" to whoever was in charge of the ball-lift. That's why I just imagine she doesn't wanna repeat such a thing, so if anyone here wants to translate her words, I'd be thankful. Because the TFTEISYF performance from the blonde DVD almost made me cry, it was amazing. The best of the 5 years run for me along with SM, so I'd like her to do something similar too.

@SuperLove4Celine : About the hernia, I knew it was said but, don't you think the other reasons are very unlikely to be the cause? She gave birth two years before that, and if she didn't feel the pain until the flight permormance, IDK. :xmas_unsure: Anyway, I'm 95% sure she said "I'm not gonna fly this time" in some recent interview.

I would actually love to hear her sing this song again - completely stripped down, with just a piano and her voice. :wub: I think she could knock this song out beautifully, without much vocal strain.

I see the Vegas medley as no medley at all but a bunch of shortened tracks. For it to count as a medley the individual song parts needs to be much shorter and woven into each other much faster and not leave for that much time of applause in between.

I have to disagree with the poster some posts above who wanted cover songs as a medley. I say let each new song be as long as it is meant and instead cut those songs down to a minimum which we are use to hear just way way way way too many - no exaggeration there actually - times.

Put TPOL,MHWGO,BYLM and IACBTMN together as a bunch, cut them individually down to a minimum and get it all over with in about 8 minutes. That is the only reasonable thing to do, unless Céline wants to put herself, her musicians and her hard core fans together at a mental hospital anywhere in the near future, all of us mumbling the lyrics to each of these songs to no end.

Because TPOL is one of her biggest hits!

She has other (maybe even bigger hits) than TPOL... she should give them a chance too -_-

Yeah RDMH is gonna be a hard one to imagine fitting into this particular show as we currently understand it. TPOL is one of those songs that is probably perfect for the :sick:

Vegas punter. As much as I wish it, it's unlikely that we'll have to wait too long to hear this one on the night.

I am hoping they drop RDMH. I mean it was awesome at one point, but I am a bit over that song at the moment. If she wants to do a Tina song, why doesn't she do ''The Best''. Loads of people have never heard her sing that one before. Not sure wheteher or not it will work either though. :shrug:

IMO if she HAS to do a Tina cover song like Golden Eye or We Don't Need Another Hero (movie songs :P ) would be better than TB or RDMH in this setting...

But I'd rather have a Céline song in the place of RDMH :whistling:

I can't hear her singing Golden Eye. It doesn't sound write in my head. The Best was amazing originally but once again, it needs the dancers and staging that this show does not seem to be about. It's quite exciting in a way that we have to totally re-think the way we would do the setlist and staging. I hope that the team have been finding it as equally challenging in real life.
