I'm thinking she may perform a softer version of RDMH which has no need of dancers...

But I actually think this was only rehearsed and is not going to be in the actual setlist, since my first thought has no sense at all... :giggle:

It just touched the deepest of my heart and made me cry so many tears. So, after the "ear orgasm" I began to dream our Céline could belt out any of its sung versions, whether in English, Italian or Spanish. Surely, many of you know the first two versions i'm talking about, with lyrics originally written by Lara Fabian for her 2000 international self-titled album. There are also adapted transcriptions for smaller/chamber orchestras, and those are the ones I'm thinking about for Céline right now. For example the following video, shortened of course, to match the lyrics and fit in the show.

It is for me, whichever version i'm talking about; the best work of art I've ever heard or seen. I don't even wanna continue dreaming about the lady herself singing this in the Colosseum.

Well... She'll have a big orchestra, so I'm hoping for some great ballads. Adagio would be great!

The are also amazing Celine songs that would be great live with an orchestra: Then You Look At Me or I Want You To Need Me, for instance.

Great music & a great voice... Celine can make something really special with this show...

Yea, I would really like to hear Céline do Adagio and Caruso.

Too bad Lara Fabian has done them both. Céline would look like a copy cat. But I guess she's not worried about that since she released Alone as a single.

only thing what worries me, is that it will be all about classical old hollywood songs, stuff she has to do in her career but not now, but when she is 70

Seeing it's Celine I expect her to be running on stage like Tina Turner does!

IMO if she HAS to do a Tina cover song like Golden Eye or We Don't Need Another Hero (movie songs :P ) would be better than TB or RDMH in this setting...

But I'd rather have a Céline song in the place of RDMH

I'm a big Tina fan also and you just game me the mental image of Celine in the We Don't Need Another Hero costume. xD

Those two songs will most likely be to hard for her to sing even though they are in a low key there quite difficult.

I'd love to see Simply The Best in the show and it can be performed without dancers.

I vote no for DOL, I am so fed up with the over performed tracks, we don't need a revival of the ones we are blessed to have out of the retro perspective set lists.

DOL was only done in two tours. It's not like LCMM and RDMH where it's been in all but 1-2..

But my point, which didn't come across I see now, is that she has tons of songs to choose from in her discography. There are so many songs that deserves to get more attention. There are so many songs deserving being brought back to life. Songs that never had a chance but was high quality songs. Tout Les Blues Sont Ecrits Pour Toi is just one example. Then it's a bit painful for me knowing about songs that can be great on stage but is time after time pushed back into the shadow by the same old same old. Reveal or Naked could had been superb on the TC tour for example.

Agreed Fred.

It's almost like Celine / Mego / Rene have a catalogue of about 40 "original" Celine Dion songs that can only be performed live. Anything not in this little collection must NEVER be considered to be performed. I agree with you about DOL. It's been done before. I understand the classics being performed time after time but album tracks? Celine has hundreds more to choose from. Give them a chance.

Or indeed there is always the tried and tested method to fill a set list isn't there?? Covers!!

I agree with Fred... I love to bring back old songs, but PLEASE! Something new!! Or at least NOT SOMETHING FROM FIY!!!! Seduces Me was an amazing choice for AND, actually maybe the best song in the setlist, but FIY has been dominating her setlist for too long now! It's time to select songs from other albums!

after watching AND after quite a while, I must say that TLYM and IACBTMN really have to go! It's done! over! Basta! Even then she didn't really enjoyed those songs anymore. I'd rahter have a full version of BYLM and TPOL than these 2 songs lipped again! :dots: :whistling:

I know this might have been already done but I like to hear what people like to hear Celine sing including other covers of songs.

I've thought long and hard and since we don't really know if the Hollywood theme is going to happen we still have choices.

maybe some songs from other divas? or Elton John? but then again, she's sung some stuff from them b4....whooaa i'd love to know what's going on through Mego's head right now...i bet it'll be great and we'll be surprised and we'll be very happy in the end.

I listened to the ''A New Day Has Come'' album yesterday and ''Goodbye's (the Saddest Word)'' would sound absolutely amazing with the orchestra. :wub:

Actually there are a few songs on that album that could sound amazing.

Isn't Prayer recorded with an orchestra? :giggle: However, very fine production.

I am a bit nervous orchestra can mean two different things: really good and really bad. The orchestra sound she was surrounded a couple of years ago when she performed LBDB on some French show was awfully cheap.

Water from the moon, halfway to heaven, prayer, surprise suprise, right in front of you, if walls could talk, to name a few i consider those as old and not sang very often ;-)

She blew me away with caruso so i hope she will do that song on her own someday...

I just hope for old songs from albums like Unison, Celine Dion or The Colour Of My Love and new songs from album like A New Day Has Come, One Heart or others.... because they are mostly focused on certain songs like FIY's songs and I'm Alive from ANDHC or IDAN from OH while they have loads of other songs there...

Oh! When I saw it I remember I've seen it before. I did I manage to forget?

Wonderful to hear Céline's deeper levels, sounded quite powerful.

Would love to see her do this alone though. It's not that he was bad, he was really good. He actually came across as a real singer not some idol contestant.

The performance was oddly off sync however. It sounded as if this duet was recorded at two separate locations, either one had heard the other.... :hmm:
