I'm already saving money to travel all the way from Spain to get to see her live in Vegas on one of her firsts shows! I've read every reply made from everyone who has written on this topic, and I must say since I read the firsts posts I was dreaming of us giving her the award (statuette or whatever) on one of the first Vegas night!!! So Bellamy, I totally agree with you on this point of the project.

As I said "count me in" I'll propose ideas to be discussed... these are my basic ideas:

I think that we should firstly spread the word of this thread into many sections as possible... the most people involved, the best to achieve our goal!

I'd propose myself to spread the word on the Spanish section... But since there are mods for every section, I also thought of telling them to spread the word, I think maybe Bellamy has thought of it already, of course. I'm only giving my 2 cents. ^_^

And here I come with another idea, this would be e-mailing every member of the forum with a letter written in all 10 languages that we use here so every member, even if they don't know English nor French, they could help and get themselves involved here. I thought for the admins to send an email like the forum news email that we used to receive sometimes in the past, or simpy an unique pm to all members.

I'd help gratefully with the Spanish translation! :thumbsup2:

So these are my ideas, I hope you receive them well... later I'll post my ideas to which should be the award, how many percent of the money should we donate to CF2, etc. I'll repeat: just in humble opinion!

and i think on the award it should say 'mother, daughter, friend, sister, singer, girlfriend, wife, " .. everything she is and NOT just her voice, she needs to know that every aspect of who she is and what her life is is important to us and we see beauty in ALL of it.. not just the performer.. I think she would be touched because she always gets awards for her voice, it time to get an award for being an exceptional person!! so lets put the emphasis on that!! =) :flowers:

Sure, that's why my current proposition is to name the award World's Best Celine and not "Singer", because that would include everything, just like I had said before. And the Certificate enclosed would include everything she is.

I do like the statuettes in the first picture, but I already kinda fell in love with this "Heart of gold" statuette. As for the realisation: I think it would be best to concentrate on getting as much money for CF2 as possible instead of creating a lush, extravagant trophy; that's the best way to let Céline know what an inspiration she is.

I mean the girl obviously luuuurves diamonds, but she probably already has enough of those Many people, on the other hand, are at the moment in desperate need of help and every little bit counts (still )

Something simple and elegant would seem appropriate for her down-to-earth character. The Heart of gold -idea actually sounded rather good, maybe something along those lines (even it the term is a lottle worn out...)?

I'm sure there will be many great ideas as the things get rolling.

Nothing is impossible with this lot here!

I'm so excited about this idea I could burst. :kicking: Knowing we have 18 months to plan it makes it so much easier to achieve our goals. I think choosing the inscription on the award is going to be a bit challenging. How do you sum up in just a few words what Celine means to all of us. That is going to be hard. I tried and could only come up with a few with the help of the internet :laugh: The last one I created....as you can see I'm not much of a poet. The first one is from an anonymous poet. My favorite is the second one!

This is an amazing idea! If someone could be there to give it to her...would it be possible to tape it?

I think that Celine deserves this and would be awestruck by how much love and support comes from her fans. Right on for thinking about this and starting to make it happen.

By the way, I love the first award that was for $58.00. It's gorgeous.

I agree that the "Heart of gold"-theme is a great idea, maybe we can merge the two styles?

The theme from the tall statuette and the low-key elegant style of the crystal awards?

A gold coloured 3D heart on a platform.. maybe 10x10x14cm in total?

We get a heart theme, without the statuette-style she has 1000 of already?

There's an art gallery here that has art pieces like that but with an apple, and they're really classy looking and very appreciated.. I'm voting for something small and simple = no tall statuette..

Exactly, this is a fan award and not some generic trophy like everyone else has given her in the past. I think something small and classy would be much better, plus if it's small it means it could go on display where a big one will probably join the others in storage as she won't have space. I love that one Frida, it's really elegant!

Yes, I believe we will go for the statuette Frida proposed. I might be able to order a very similar, or maybe even identical (I'll have to look into the copyrights matter), statuette for a considerably lower price than the original one. But we'll see to that later. Anyway, the shape is wonderful because it does contain the heart shape but it's very elegant, classy and humanly. As for the name, Heart of Gold would be good but I see that's what the plaque underneath says so it's hardly original. I've been thinking of "World's Best Celine", because it contains everything she IS - singer, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and everything else she is. I guess we'll discuss the details later on.
I'm also trying to figure out the additional part, I think we will go for a 'yearbook' with our pictures captioned with our names, countries and maybe Forum nicknames, plus I would give her a 'certificate' or 'diploma' she could hang on the wall besides the statuette

Basically the goal is to make the award and create the possibility to hand it to her on Vegas opening night, fall 2010, with as many Forum members present there as possible; alongside with the award we will hand her a check for a hopefully large sum of money raised by CF2. Sounds like a good plan to me And since Koolan and Bellamy both expressed their approval, I think I'll be starting to DO something about it very soon, some ways are already being figured out.

I was brainstorming as well, maybe someone could ask rene to help us out, maybe have some think that is autograghed, that could raise alot of money. like expense payed trip to opening night, front row tickets,and a meet and greet with her,backstage passes before and after party. just a thought.

this is so exciting =) We should probaly start putting names down for this. I live in Canada, so I will definately be able to make it to Vegas for the opening ( and hoping its near my 21st b-day - because i was going to go to vegas anyways..lol) I just hope we all get tickets for that show. This is when Rene can maybe help us out to reserve a section for us.

As for the award, I think the smaller one with the heart is perfect! The yearbook thing is great too! We should definately start gathering pictures and stuff of people - maybe each of us can write something under our picture as well - how much celine means to us, or special memories that we have etc.

The inscription on the award will probably be short, just a title, and a longer description I would include in this certificate for her. I also think we will stick with the yearbook idea, and the statuette itself will be neat and simple, that's for sure.

Right now the most important thing we need are donations and figuring out ways to gather as much money as possible. I will start spreading the word about CF2 and the T-shirts, and I believe we will manage to achieve the $10,000 goal! If not, we'll try to go for at least $5,000, but let's not lose our faith yet

Nice idea! If you need help, give a yell

For example: If you are planning to make a custom thing from steel (maybe titanium) or whatever let me know, a supplier of my (and a fellow firefighter and my neighbour) owns a small company specialised in metalworks. Not just regular metalwork but (extreme) expensive and exclusive parts for airline, automotive and other specialised industries (with errormargins less then x % of a millimeter). If you deside to make some kind of special statue or so, I'll check it with hem what's possible or not but afaik the sky is the limit :icon_mrgreen: Or for something with gold, I have a goldsmith in m'n family who can create special things...

And for the cheque of 10k: Good idea... Would be happy to donate to see it happen

I will soon be questionning some companies here in Poland regarding the price of custom-made statuettes like the Heart of gold ones Frida found and when I find out the prices, we'll be albe to compare them and see which option will be the best. Neat, simple and cheap (though not cheap-looking) is what we're aiming for, of that I can assure you

Yeah, I'm also considering the idea now. And we should make sure that people from other language sections get to know about CF2 and about the award project. First of all an e-mail to all users (probably in several languages) regarding CF2 and that we need donations, and the word about the project can be spread through writing topics directing users to this one in all language sections.

So for now I guess I need volunteers who could translate messages in English to other languages. I can do Polish and Spanish, my French is not fluent enough so I'm gonna need someone to do the French part, Chinese will probably be Bellamy's part and so I need volunteers for French and all other languages. Please don't do anything without telling me first, we don't need mess here (like 3 identical topics in some language section made by different people)

Definetly a good idea. :yes: and maybe spread the word through the CF2 Facebook and MySpace pages as well? oh and does CF2 have a Twitter page? It seems to be the new trend, so maybe that would be a good way to spread the word as well?

You have brilliant ideas people! When it comes to fundraising, check out my International Children's Day idea I wrote about in the CF2 section (The topic 'Give a gift that counts'). If we could go for it, I'll make a video and links to it could be posted on CF2's webpages, and word could be spread also among non-fans, just kind people willing to donate a little money for charity.

I'll soon contact the Admins regarding a special newsletter explaining the general idea and written in various languages
