A special award for Celine from all of us!

I love your ideas. And I think the statuettes you picked Frida are really great. We could try and order one of them, or one similar to this one. Many companies, including the first one I found that's situated in my home city, make statuettes based on individual requests and though it's probably a little more expensive, it might turn out cheaper when made in Poland than in the US or somewhere else. But I suppose we'll deal with money issues a bit later on

 

But for now it's a bit too early to vote who prefers which shape. First let's figure out exactly WHAT we need to do, what has to be done to accomplish that, and what to say when we try to get in touch with Rene and possibly Oprah. Right now I would really go for the idea of doing this on the day of Celine's 'back in Vegas' opening night or right before that, to show her that we need her and no 18-month break could make us forget and stop loving her.

 

As so many of you have already said 'count me in!' I think by collecting $10.00 from each person we might gather quite a large amount of money, which after excluding the costs of the statuette and other additional stuff necessary (btw. I like the 'yearbook' idea, maceta) might still leave quite a lot to donate to CF2 (plus the money people will donate to CF2 in the following 17 months... think of the sum we might collect! ). I guess we'll figure out the details later on, right now we need the basics.

 

 

I totall agree that we should try to do this on her opening performance if she comes back to vegas! that would be awesome. Its funny because if it is opening Fall 2010, it may be close to my 21st birthday and im going to vegas anyways! lol so having celine back in vegas that time would make my birthday even better..lol.

Should we possibly try to send a letter to Rene, just to let him know of our plans? Also, maybe we can contact Barnev ( i have him on facebook) and let him know of our plans, maybe he can foward it to rene? I dont know, but so far I think its a great idea. We just need to start getting things in order. We should first try and figure out how we would give it to her before we actually make it.

yea i agree, we should try to aim to get her this for the opening of Vegas. Rather than wrry about the details of the award, we should try and figure out HOW we are going to do this first. After you get more information from the admins, we should try and get our contacts in order - meaning we should try and contact some people in order to make this possible. We cant just show up there, they need to know that we are doing this. This whole thing is exciting though. I think the award should be called " Fan choice - best singer in the world" or something like that, since we are all pissed that she didnt get the fan choice for the junos...we can make our own..haha

If the members decided to choose a heart type design for the award, it could be called the "Heart of Gold Award" The term "Heart of Gold" is the description of having a heart of gold signifying a person or being completely without malice, whose nature is loving and caring. Celine definitely qualifies as having a Heart of Gold. I tried to think of a name relevant to our love for Celine as her fans....but couldn't think of anything

 

Love the Vegas idea This should be one memorable event. Glad to see we have 18 months to plan it. Gotta save up for the trip to Vegas.

I think we don't have to present it to her this year. She's enjoying her private life and trying to have a new baby. I don't think she needs it now. Also I had thought about the same question for present check from CF2. Maybe if we take more time to make it the best we can and present it with a huge check from CF2 like 10K dollars on her premier show in Vegas better. Just imagine how thrilled she may feel about her fans never forget after she's away from the show business for 2 years.

 

Could u put this in the other threads as well, so we can get MORE $$$ for this to happen.

Providing we can all get tickets to her show. Team Celine fans get a 10% break and special seating, but those of us who can not afford to be team Celine members might miss out on this opportunity. Could we put our names down as going along with this so we won't be left out? I have never met her but want to so badly. I have gone to her concert here in CT.

I am all good for Vegas opening night, infact, I really want to put some thought into getting an audience full of forum members. I mean, i know they can't section off the whole show for us because I garuntee all the people involved (i.e. dancers, musicians, ect) will have there own handful of tickets to give out, then imagine all the celebrities that might pop in for Celine's opening night and she also might have alot going on that first night so these a really things to take in consideration. I love the idea of getting Rene involved.. =)

 

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I think we should 1000% raise money for CF2 and present a check. Think about it, i know that during Celine's hiatus we are all basically paying off our celine's debts from the tour but we could seriously each donate a little.. I mean.. there are 75 replies to this thread already.. and its not like we're spending money on tickets right now so we should man up and donate! (yeah, this coming from someone who hasn't donated yet BUT I PLAN TO!!! *PROMISE*) I think the award itself would be touching but seeing that we want to GIVE more than actually recieving anything in return is what is the best!

I still say this trophy really screams Celine; she is all heart yet the figure is bent as to be shy and simple in design; it is like the figure isn't hiding anything as is open just like Celine is with us. It is strong yet gentle.

Yes, I believe we will go for the statuette Frida proposed. I might be able to order a very similar, or maybe even identical (I'll have to look into the copyrights matter), statuette for a considerably lower price than the original one. But we'll see to that later. Anyway, the shape is wonderful because it does contain the heart shape but it's very elegant, classy and humanly. As for the name, Heart of Gold would be good but I see that's what the plaque underneath says so it's hardly original. I've been thinking of "World's Best Celine", because it contains everything she IS - singer, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and everything else she is. I guess we'll discuss the details later on.

I'm also trying to figure out the additional part, I think we will go for a 'yearbook' with our pictures captioned with our names, countries and maybe Forum nicknames, plus I would give her a 'certificate' or 'diploma' she could hang on the wall besides the statuette

 

OK so we know more or less what we want to achieve. Basically the goal is to make the award and create the possibility to hand it to her on Vegas opening night, fall 2010, with as many Forum members present there as possible; alongside with the award we will hand her a check for a hopefully large sum of money raised by CF2. Sounds like a good plan to me And since Koolan and Bellamy both expressed their approval, I think I'll be starting to DO something about it very soon, some ways are already being figured out.

 

And Cynthia, of course it's a great idea to put our names down. I will soon ask you all to do that. Shall I post this in other language sections? I'm a little afraid of creating a mess, but then again, the more people contribute the better it will be...

She doesn't need another expensive award, she has millions in storage right now and no matter how posh and extravagant the trophy is it will almost certainly end up alongside them in her warehouse. Something small and heartfelt would mean just as much, if not more, when accompanied by our donations and cards and letters expressing our love. I'm not saying make one out of cardboard but spending hundreds of dollars on a statue is for me going too far.

Yes you're right, that's exactly wha I have in mind. We'll try to keep the award and any additional stuff decent but as cheap as can be, Celine doesn't care about expensive, she cares about what's from the heart and she'll surely appreciate our donations as much as the award itself.
