A special award for Celine from all of us!

OK guys, I came up with this idea, some of you also did a bit later, and I have this feeling that I HAVE to do something about it, try to make it come true and be in charge of it. It's not that I want to be Ms. Top-of the-world, I've just learned from my life that many things I think of, many crazy ideas actually come true and I've already done (or actually had the luck to experience) some incredible thing in my life, so. I'm so doing this and I want to do this with all of you!

 

We all know that the Junos sucked, and so I just thought we should make our OWN trophy/award for Celine and send/or even give/ it to her, not just as a way to compensate for the ridiculous Junos, but to show her how much we love, support and appreciate her and how strong we can be. Are you with me guys?

 

I happen to have quite a lot of free time this spring, so I could do everything that's necessary - I mean write to Rene or anybody else who could help us make it happen, come up with some ideas, create (or rather order) the trophy, and do the fundraising (I suppose it would cost a bit, but judging by how many of us are here - it might turn out to be a dollar or even less per person, I've no particular idea so far).

 

OK, the first thing:

Cynthia was wonderful enough to give me the address and telephone numbers of Celine&Rene's 'Feeling Productions', and like she said, Rene likes surprising Celine so MAYBE, just maybe, it really CAN work. I'm planning to write them a letter, and I'm beginning to plan what to write there, but some ideas of yours might be useful, also the answer to the quiestion in my head: "How do I make it really credible?" I want them to take this seriously.

 

So, people: WHAT DO YOU SAY TO TAKING CHANCES?

nuts2you - of course it would be SPLENDID if we could organize a meeting and give it to her in person. I would do my best to be there, and we might gather a few (or more ) people together to do a group fan meeting and hand it to her officially. However if it doesn't turn out to be possible, then I would like to at least send it to her to Montreal, or wherever Rene would tell us to.

Well the first thing I came up with is a trophy, Celine's silhouette (in one of the outfits from TC Tour), silver with some diamonds or so, still figuring out the shape. Of course with Celinedionforum.com engraved, plus the date and NAME of the award; I would also enclose an official "certificate" with nicknames+real names of all members that contributed to it, and stating how much we love and admire Celine. What do you guys think? We would need a special name for the trophy, maybe something that would be associated with Junos but not directly (You know, like: 'Bruno' or 'Enno' award haha, you know what I mean ) or maybe not, but it DOES need a name.

 

I've already found a few companies that make statuettes for individuals based on personal orders, I think I might soon get in touch with one of them One is even located in my home city, yay - a sign from above?

Ideas for the letter, please. I'll be writing it very soon, tomorrow during the day probably (it's already midnight in my time zone;).. and I need some advice of yours. I want to do this but not 'all by myself' hahaha :*

I think it would be a lovely idea, but I don't think we should concentrate to much on it being an award to make up for not getting a Juno. Better to present it as a fans appreciation, with particular attention to our gratitude for the amazing World Tour. I think that would be a great reason for her fans to give her an award.

Also the award would have to be expensive looking, as you say, there are so many of us here that should be possible. I think that by giving people the opportunity to buy their name in a booklet or something to accompany the award we could gather a nice bit of money. Something similar to the book of love some of us in the fan club were able to contribute to a few years back, it could be divided into sections representing the areas/countries she visited and people could have their names listed there. Of course people who did not get to a concert, could still be listed under an area close to them.

Perhaps we could also add fans photo's from the concerts, I don't just mean photo's of Celine on stage, but of some us at the concert, dancing and singing along, showing off our merchandise, posing outside the stadiums/with Celine, that sort of thing.

 

Getting back to the trophy idea, we would need to look into the copyright issue, I don't imagine Celine would accept the award and then sue us! But it would probably still be illegal to use an official image of Celine, I think something in cut glass with an etched design and silhouette like Ennostiel suggested would be good, though a custom piece may be very expensive. Also I'd imagine that we may find it easier and perhaps cheaper to get a trophy created in America, LA or somewhere. They probably make a lot of awards there!. Perhaps people could look at designing something and posting it on the forum, for all to see and a decision could be made from there.

 

Finally, I think if we are going to do this on behalf of celinedionforum.com then the administrators or modifiers would need to agree to officialy endorse this project and probably any money collected should be managed by them, maybe by paypal. Also I think it would be a good idea if a portion of any money raised went into maintaining the forums and that this point should be made in any letter to Feeling, so it's not just the fans helping Celine but also the fans helping the fans. Also any letter should come from someone representing the forum. I don't mean to sound dismissive Ennostiel, this was your post and a really nice idea. But as you said we need it to sound credible and not just coming from a few fans who got together on a message board, as this way it would seem more attractive to Feeling and Rene.

 

Anyway, that's my feeling about it, what do people think?

It's a great idea! I think she would love it... Just let us know what you need and when you need it.

 

As for the letter: I think you should just not mention the JUNOs at all (because we don't know how they feel about the whole JUNO thing). Just say that we want to award Celine (for example) for the following:

 

- Spreading love, hope and joy throughout the world with her beautiful voice and music;

- Courage;

- Always giving everything she has (even when she is sick);

- Always making time for her fans;

- Remaining the woman she has always been.

 

I don't know, something like that. I mean you can obviously elaborate on this in the letter...

People, of course I'm not planning to mention the Junos, and surely not in the first place! The reason I'm mentioning it here is simply because that's how it all began.

 

John, you're right in may ways and I know you're not trying to dismiss me. I need to talk to the administrators and we'll see how to figure this out. But you see, it may actually be an advantage that I live in Poland because the prices here are considerably lower and I can already tell that this wouldn't be very expensive if I had it made here. If you all agree of course.

 

I really don't want to boss everyone around here, that's why I asked for your opinions. I know we need credibility and I'm searching to gain it, not just for myself but for us as a community. But I think that if you agreed for me to represent the forum in this case, I'm sure Koolan and Bellamy would figure out a way to make me both representative and credible for the forum. I won't MAKE you guys do anything, and I know everything you say is meant to make it as possible as can be. I truly appreciate that. But I've already began to feel SO bloody enthusiastic about it... I'd love to have some credit out of it, but most of all as one of us, not one leader and my humble servants

 

I guess I need to tell Koolan and Bellamy to look through this topic and see what they can do for this whole idea, for me and for us as a community.

I agree. Absolutely. But if you (and the administrators first of all, of course) honoured me with your agreement for me to write to them as a representative of the Forum's community, and found a way to express your approval and support for my initiative, I think I could be just as credible as any other person representing the Forum instead of me. I mean, I would write the letter on behalf of all of us here, not simply as an individual. All we need is mutual support and agreement. What do you say people?

Why not a nice plaque with a large heart engraved in it and all our names on the back. Write something like Your Hear will go on in us forever?

I was really thinking how do we as fans get this to her,I have been busy trying to send something to the oprah show, and to let her know how much we as fans really LOVE HER. I was just thinking if everyone would send and e-mail to OPRAH to have on her show.just maybe we could give her the award to her there. and we could all be there.

This is some idea in fact I like it a lot; but for now I'm planning to contact Celine & Rene's Feeling Productions and maybe get Rene to help us make this fabulous surprise to Celine, but we'll see. Like I said - first of all I'm waiting for the moderators to have they say and hopefully get their approval.

(And I'm planning to get some sleep right now, check out my local time - half past two am and I really need to sleep at night, otherwise how can I think properly and figure this out? )

I'd love to take part in this. I think its a great way of showing Celine how much we care about her as fans. A plaque would also be easier probably, and on it we could put images and the names of countries all around the world, like a collage i guess. I dont know how you would do it, but its an idea.
