Today I start the "Chanel"-Series of my findings.

Céline was a Chanel-Fan since the late 80ies. I guess - together with Escada - it was the first "Fashion-Crush" she had. And nearly nothing can you do wrongly by being dressed in Chanel!

And for me as a fashion searcher it was also Chanel as one first successes as it has some very typical details, which make some pieces relatively easy to find. BUT not always! Even Frida, as a true fashion expert and studying fashion, could often only verify the label, but no more details.

Strangely I never really liked the style of Chanel - only with becoming a searcher of Céline's fashion I more and more discovered the iconic beauty of Chanel!

Funny thing is that pieces which were hard to find way back then get easier to be found as vintage pieces since Chanel never loses worth! So it was just yesterday I found shoes Céline was wearing during the recording of "Taking Chances"-album!

Yeah, that's a funny coincidence, because "5" for Chanel stands for its legendary perfume "Chanel No. 5", which was brought to market by Coco Chanel in 1921. It is said that it's the most known and sold perfume worldwide. And it was mainly Marilyn Monroe's answer to a question of a reporter, who asked her what she's wearing in bed, where she answered: "Chanel No. 5"

Yes, thank you! I am always very happy discovering something. Mainly if it's something I have been searching for a very long time.

And, yes, I share your opinion - I also think she wears clothes and shoes in which she really feels comfortable during recording. And I love it when she also wears a little bit crazy clothes - like during the "Courage"-recording sessions. She looked so cool and really embodied the songs she was recording. Like during the "Taking Chances" Sessions.

"Chanel"-Series, part 2

Sometimes the search does not affect the clothing, but the original image. Of course, I've been a fan of Céline long enough to be able to roughly allocate a picture based on her hair styling, but it's always better if you can at least add the correct year and month, or even the reason, to the collection.

Unfortunately, one of today's pictures is still unknown. But maybe there's someone here who knows more about this? As mentioned, please only provide ACCURATE information! Thank you!

Very kind of you. No, I am very sorry, I can't remember where I've found it. There are "zillions" of pictures I've seen and collected since 1988 - and of course since around 2005 (that's when I guess this picture much have been taken). Either it was one of her birthdays - or an anniversary of "A new day" ... not even the cake gives a clue (damn thing sofunny.gif ).

Unfortunately I don't have it in HQ. But I post what I have right after this.

Thank you for trying to help me! flowers.gif

"Chanel"-Series, part 3

The years around 1995 where full of Chanel in Céline's outfits. Sometimes I think she bought the WHOLE Runway-collection. And Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel's chief designer by that time) presented around of 160 outfits per season way back then!

On the day after her two sold-out shows of her "Falling Into You"-World Tour @ Wembley Arena, London, this picture was taken. Although it stays a mystery if that meeting with Monsieur Gérard Depardieu was coincidence. Anyway, she was dressed all over in Chanel. I presume the long black velvet opera gloves as well as whatever she was wearing under that coat was Chanel too. biggrin2.gif

Thanx, Céline, that you make some fashion searches really easy! wub.png

This is so kind of you! Yes, I've also tried to find it with "image searches". Maybe one day it will be revealed - or maybe forever stay unknown. At least we know what she was wearing on that mysterious day with that mysterious cake! sofunny.gif

What a joy that again I brought something to you, which you hadn't known so far.

Here's another extract of the broadcast where she was wearing that outfit. The belt and the necklace were Chanel too, presumably the trousers too (but to verify them you really need a HQ picture were details can be seen).

She radiates so much joy in this picture - and looks very elegant. Funnily I didn't like that outfit the first time I discovered the picture in 1996. But with my starting to find fashion pieces I more and more checked older pictures - and the more I found/detected Chanel pieces the more I liked it when she was dressed from head to toe in Chanel. It's so classic. Elegant. And it really suited her perfectly.

she's so youthful and radiant with this pink outfit... same as the previous pink outfit... something girly and naive... it was not common back there, when she looked more mature from 93 andd afterwards...

After all those years when she had to keep her love for René a secret and was then FINALLY allowed to make it public at the end of 1993 - but especially after her wedding - she radiated so much happiness and beauty that she enchanted every outfit. Her collaboration with Annie Horth also began in 1996. Before that, René usually had the last word on the outfits. - Well, that's my theory. giggle.gif

"Chanel"-Series, part 5

Only with very good quality pictures a small fraction of a piece is sufficient to get hints to finally find it. Like the adorable "Box Bag" and the black embroidered "CC" logo on the black short sweater.

Drove All Night, I for one enjoyed your posts about all your fashion findings and will miss it, although I appreciate the fact it took a lot of work for not much reward so I understand your decision.

I just wanted to say though that I don’t use the ‘like’ feature much as it seems to sign me out and then I have to troll through numerous thread posts to get back up to date when I sign in again so please know that whilst I didn’t always hit the ‘like’ button, I appreciated the content and effort you put in for us 🩷

Sorry, guys! This doesn't make fun anymore! As I've mentioned before there is a lot of work hidden behind my postings in this thread, and I don't like the behavior of people who only download pictures but don't hit the "Like" button (at least). So I stop for now with my regular content.

I thank mostly those few who took the time to click on the "Like"-button or even wrote some words wub.png:

Sorry, folks! I hope you can understand that it's too less feedback for the efforts I take - and out of nearly 21.000 views and approx. 20-30 downloads/picture since I reactivated this thread only you 14 showed appreciation or feedback. I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart!

Today's last picture is just for you! Something rare which took 6 years before I found the presumed jacket, which turned out to be a dress!

Of course I do ask myself if this once beloved thread is still appreciated by all who just "view" it? Or are most people not really interested in these findings, which partly needed years to be detected?

Additionally this forum has changed so much to the worse. In early days it was a great place of appreciation and information. Now, look at all the people who like to become members but are still in a state of "validation" (the yellow marked member-names) since very long. No one of the admins or moderators seems to care about that and give them full access to the forum (in a state of validation you can't see pictures and you can't comment).

Threads at partly polluted with AI or photo shopped fake pictures and none of the moderators takes care of that! There are a lot of technical problems too which aren't fixed anymore, for example the "search" doesn't work. I am kicked out and need sometimes days to be able to log me in again. Clicking through older threads or older pages of this thread has the same effect as well as if I like to respond to a message. - I've tried it with different browsers - everywhere the same problems.

So:That's it! Goodbye to those you really cared!

Cool find would have thought a jacket to and not a dress.

I completely understand your decision and will miss your posts. I am not much of a fashion person but your posts gave me a new appreciation for Celine's many looks.

In regards to the browser issue and signing you out one trick I found is in Google Chrome click on where it says Not Secure in page URL at the top left.

This will bring up a menu click on Site Settings at the bottom of that menu.

A new tab with Settings for the page will open scroll down find the option 'Insecure Content' and in the drop down change it to Allow.

Then close the Settings tab and reload the forum and see it that will keep you logged in.

Thank you again for your hard work bringing us these wonderful finds.

My dear "drove all night"... I understand and respect your decision... and I'd like to say that I've learned so many things with your posts and your responses to me... I really apreciate your work and your kindness, I will truly miss your posts!

I also feel that this forum is somehow abandoned by those who take care of it, and that's sad... since when I became a fan, this place is where I visit daily, and discovered so many things here, knew some cool fans... I do hope this can be fixed someday!

Once again. thank you so very much!

Ah, OK, that might be a reason others couldn't do that too. But it's hard to say what the true reasons are. And it just doesn't feel so great posting something which needed so much time to find, and also taking the effort to create the posting with the text - and no one "likes" it, but the pictures are downloaded. I'm not that kind of girl to say, that I don't care about that!

But thank you very much, that you appreciated my content!
