Tal Posted August 7, 2007 at 02:32 PM Posted August 7, 2007 at 02:32 PM I just felt like the Prophecy wasn't news. When he heard it, after that whole struggle and Sirius dying for it, I was just like "DUH!!" You sorta always knew one would have to conquer the other. Plus I felt nothing when Sirius died...I never really found him to be a father figure to Harry. Dumbledore was much more so. And then all that repetativeness with detention with Umbridge. I dunno...I just didnt care for it. Quote I live my life like a runawayI hide my dreams in a special placeI'm waiting here for my prince to comeTo save me from the darkness...
kathyc25 Posted August 7, 2007 at 03:11 PM Posted August 7, 2007 at 03:11 PM That`s true the bits with Umbridge were a little redundant. As for Sirius I can`t really remember what I felt so I guess I didn`t feel that much either lol. I was much more upset with the death of Dumbledore in Book 6. Alice Posted August 7, 2007 at 04:37 PM Posted August 7, 2007 at 04:37 PM I loved OOTP! Even though it was very sad, I mean the atmosphere @ Hogwarts, Harry's state of mind and everything... The "Ministry of Magic" chapter is amazing. And I loved Fred (R.I.P.) and George's fireworks! Dumbledore's Army was great and a sweet new character - Luna was introduced. I'm rereading Deathly Hallows now. Sloooooowly and carefully ) Quote
Mozinha Posted August 7, 2007 at 08:43 PM Author Posted August 7, 2007 at 08:43 PM I'm rereading the series right now until the portuguese translation is released here in my country (October). I just started book 2 today in my lunchtime at work and guess what... people were mocking me! They were saying it was an awful book and it was all lies. Ok, people are free to think the books are awful, it's their opinion. But the lies thing is kinda stupid. I mean, if it's fiction of course it's not saying the truth about anything whatsoever. firebird Posted September 6, 2007 at 08:51 PM Posted September 6, 2007 at 08:51 PM I really like The Order Of The Phoenix movie. Imelda Staunton as Umbrige was great. I can't wait for The Half-Blood Prince movie. David Yates will direct again, and it's my favourite of the booksI also read the new book. It was ok. The first half was good, the end, especially that epilogue, is worse than some Barbara Cartland novel Quote
amyja89 Posted February 26, 2008 at 10:50 PM Posted February 26, 2008 at 10:50 PM I absolutely love the books but am really not a fan of the movies, I just hate the fact that they always only put about 5% of the book content into each film! My favourite book is probably Half Blood Prince, and fave character Snape! Quote
Frida Posted February 26, 2008 at 11:15 PM Posted February 26, 2008 at 11:15 PM *raises hand* I'm a huuuuge fan of HP, and I like the movies although I agree with you... sometimes it just doen't make any sence LOL they cut too many funny and important things, which is a little sad, but... I love the actors and I'd die without the brittish accents, they're adorable LOL Anyway... my fav books are GoF and HBP, fav character ourside of the trio is probably Arthur Weasly ("I collect plugs. And batteries. Got a very large collection of batteries" "tell me harry, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?!" ) or Ginny LOL k I should stop now... btw.... SPOILER! --Click here to view-- | --Cliquez ici pour voir--I've been listening to pottercst for a couple of months now... if fleur isn't in movie 6, then how the h*ll are they gonna explain the wedding in movie 7? there can't NOT be a wedding?! and when they return from the malfoy mansion? at bill's and fleur's house, how are they gonna explain that? Frida Posted February 26, 2008 at 11:17 PM Posted February 26, 2008 at 11:17 PM oh, yeah, and I used to HATE snape but after "the prince's tale" or whatever the chapter was called I don't know how anyone could... so sweet but sad... and the way he died.. ugh Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png
Krys Posted February 27, 2008 at 02:21 AM Posted February 27, 2008 at 02:21 AM i didnt like the 5th and the 6th book. i found them a bit dull in the first 5/6th of the book i love the 7th book though. yeh i agree with you Frida. i hate the movies. the directors just chop up bits and pieces and paste them wherever they want! fancy Harry receiving his firebolt at the end of his 3rd year and flying outside of Hogwarts Quote
ryry1982 Posted February 27, 2008 at 06:37 AM Posted February 27, 2008 at 06:37 AM Well, I'll be the first male in the HP thread! I've loved HP for years! I got Order of the Phoenix at midnight when the book came out, and I dragged my bored boyfriend to Barnes and Noble to get Deathly Hallows at midnight. I'm so PUMPED for the Half Blood Prince movie this fall! I am hoping they include a lot of the book, so many important elements! I am also kinda disappointed that they cut so much out of the movies, especially Order of the Phoenix. I mean... Weasley is our King! C'mon!! Quote

The movies definitely don`t do the books justice at all, but I still like them. Although a bit cliche I really love Harry! and Daniel Radcliff is so nerdy and cute, he fits the role perfectly Quote Music Is Life...Live ItYou are the music while the music lasts. ~T.S. peterchambers Posted March 4, 2008 at 05:07 PM Posted March 4, 2008 at 05:07 PM harry potters sooo cool, as much as i enjoy the movies, the books are way better, more character details, fantastic stroylines..ie the full story. fave character is snape, alan rickman was perfect for the role. was sad at his demise. as i always believed he was good at heart, can understand why he felt bitter at harry, james was an arse to him, and lily liked him , well you guys know all this anyhow...peace guys Quote who loves ya...celine does
ce-line Posted June 8, 2008 at 01:44 PM Posted June 8, 2008 at 01:44 PM Thought I wanted to add something to this topic as I'm a very big fan of Harry Potter as well. I totally agree with all of you. The films don't do the books justice, but I still really love them as well though. And I really adore the english accent ! My favourite character has to be Luna. She is SO amazing and sometimes I really see myself in her. I was never doubting that Snape was on the right side, so I wasn't suprised with what happened in Deathly Hallows at all. I didn't know there where so many in this forum sharing the same feelings for Joanne Rowling's wonderful world. I always thought it was an odd combination. I mean Céline Dion and Harry Potter. Couldn't really find the link. So I was quite pleaced to see I'm not the only one!
